Totally normal for a legitimate for-profit company to refuse to reclaim or stop running their products even after they're no longer being paid to do so. I'm sure it's very normal to just keep running your service for free when your contract's been terminated. Spending money to continue running cameras that supposedly no one is looking at is definitely not an indicator they are just run by the federal government to spy on everyone and only a wacko conspiracy theorist would think so.
It's called the Global Justice Report, it is here. This is an actionable plan which can be sent to legislators and demanded of political parties. We could save the world within our lifetimes.
It has always been possible. It is still possible.
âBig Pharmaâ okay are we talking about how privatization and monetization has deeply corrupted the field of medicine or are you talking about how you think chemicals in the water are making the frogs gay
âGMOsâ? Are we talking seeds that grow sterile plants and patenting genetic modifications then destroying any competition no matter how small they are? Or are we talking life saving rice with vitamin a to make sure kids donât go blind in regions not suited for other high vit a veg? ⊠or are we talking about your chidoodle?
one thing you need to know about 2014. is that what does the fox say was playing pretty much everywhere you went. and everybody was just relieved it wasn't blurred lines
I canot stress enough that those were the only 2 songs in 2014

we might be blogging hours apart but time is nothing. i love you
The plans include arresting migrants in Ohio and quickly putting them on deportation flights to crisis-stricken Haiti, the internal document
There were two seconds when the messaging was "women can be everything men do! Girls can play sports and often beat boys! Girls are strong, powerful and intelligent", and now we're at "the male brain is bigger than a female brain, so trans women can't POSSIBLY play chess against a cis woman, that's not fairrrrr" ... AHHHH GROW UP, NUT UP, WHAT IS HAPPENING.
Industry says governmentâs failure to address cooling demands means AI growth plans are âfatally flawedâ
âThere appears to be an assumption that the country will always have enough water for its economic needs,â the briefing said. âNothing could be further from the truth.â In May, a House of Lords report said England faced a 5bn litre a day shortfall for public water supplies by 2055. Water UK said datacentres were already being built in water-stressed areas, with more than three-quarters located in the south and east of England. Millions of people in these regions have been placed under a hosepipe ban by water companies after prolonged extreme heat and lack of rainfall.
[...]
The government has designated datacentres as critical national infrastructure, on the basis that their loss or compromise could result in âmajor detrimental impact on the availability, integrity or delivery of essential servicesâ and âsignificant impact on national security, national defence, or the functioning of the stateâ. Oliver Hayes, head of big tech and campaigns at the campaign group Global Action Plan, said it was not clear why datacentres had been given this status, but that water companies may be powerless to restrict their water use as a result. This could risk datacentres being prioritised over households at times of peak water demand. âI think it is highly likely that weâre going to end up seeing datacentres that are actually running chatbots, or enabling people to do benign and very wasteful, pointless things, protected and given favourable treatment when it comes to resources,â Hayes said.

EVERY time I hear a dumbass white person say anything about immigrants âcoming here illegallyâ my very first thought is that if it was perfectly âlegalâ for your European ancestors to come as a âstowawayâ ((YES, that was an option on immigration paperwork at Ellis Island)), no I do not give a flying fuck if someone walked swam skipped or jumped across the American border for a better life.
You can fuck ALL the way off.
It really feels like a lot of the confusion and discourse around transmisogyny hinges on the fact that transmisogyny-exempt people tend to think passing works like:
Trans feminine, doesn't pass ==> treated as a man.
Trans feminine, does pass ==> treated as a woman.
When in reality it actually works more like :
Trans feminine, doesn't pass ==> treated like a degenerate sexual predator who preys on girls.
Trans feminine, does pass ==> treated like a degenerate sexual predator who preys on men.
Which is crucially is not a dichotomy which exists in the same way for other trans people.
liberals making empathy a focus in politics is a mistake not just because of their hypocrisy (lacking empathy for victims of imperialism evidently) but because the right genuinely thinks "so much for tolerance huh" means anything when someone stands up to bigotry. like no, you don't actually have to tolerate people treating you like shit, and you aren't a better person for being a doormat--it will drive you insane
also "taking the high road" is an excuse for inaction in many circumstances. it is, ironically, prioritizing personal comfort by avoiding conflict
even now, the police are going after muslim protestors and targeting their families in india. the father, minor brother, and brother-in-law of a muslim cjp volunteer, mohammed junaid, were kidnapped by cops. just because he was distributing water to protestors as a muslim.
that is the cost of being a muslim in this country.
the authorâs poorly disguised unchallenged ideas about how the world works, what is natural, what should go without saying
