I do generally think that Prime comes across a lot more serious/stoic to humans than he does his fellow bots because he's just not very good at emoting through his voice. It's far more natural for him to denote emotion through his em field, which is perfectly common and normal on cybertron. He has to put a lot of conscious effort into not just automatically defaulting to using his field when talking to humans, and its honestly a bit of a processor ache. He'd really rather not give the humans another reason to be intimidated by him, though, so he keeps trying to integrate human intonation into his speech.
