"Dating" with them - doing exercise with role models
Someone, much busier than you, puts fitness at first place
"I'm too busy to do exercise today." That is what most people always complain, including myself.
However, are we much busier than the President? Probably not. It is said that the US President Barack Obama keeps doing exercises six days a week and around 45 minutes each time. The first thing he does in the morning is to do exercises in gym.Why do the busiest people have more time to keep fitness?
First of all, they are aware of the importance of fitness. No matter how busy they are, they always squeeze time to do exercises. How are those running shoes and fitness cards you buy? I used to buy a fitness card but only used it twice.
Secondly, those busy people are good at time and efficiency management. They know what the priority is. But most people would surf the net or be addicted to mobile all day rather than do exercises.
Last but not least, they enjoy doing exercises. Losing weight or keeping healthy is not an ultimate aim for them but enjoyment instead. Persistence relies on interest and motivation.
I want to share with you what the former US President George Bush once told Runnersworld, âI believe anyone can make the time. As a matter of fact, I donât believe it-I know it. If the President of the United States can make the time, anyone can.â
Don't ask me advices on fitness anymore. What I can tell you is as followed.

Well, it's nice to have Sarah, a sports lover as well as a fitness coach, to share her opinion about questions we care about.
What and how much should we eat after exercises? Who can tell us? Prize is waiting for you...
The Eight-length Brocade
The Eight-length Brocade, also known as Ba Duan Jin or Pa Tuan Chin, is a set of qigong exercises which is originated in China. It is often considered as a medical qigong exercise set. Thereâre eight movements altogether and each movement will be repeated for eight times. It is suggested that one should do the entire set at least once per day. The eight-length brocade will benefit people of different ages, especially those who have to work with computers.
Ms. Xu, a visiting scholar of Uclan, has been teaching Tai Chi for almost a year. At the beginning of the class, she always chose the eight-length brocade as warm-up exercise. It will only take you ten to fifteen minutes to finish the entire set per day, but it is worthy of benefiting you for the whole life.
Why not put away whatever youâre doing now and learn the eight-length brocade from Ms. Xu on http://youtu.be/tkdX9K0VagY
 Eight Movements:
Hold your hands up to regulate the triple-burner.
Adjust movement like you are aiming a bow and arrow to shoot a hawk.
To adjust the spleen & stomach, raise up your hand on each side.
Turn your head back to help prevent consumptive diseases and injuries.
Roll your head and rotate the pelvis side to side to help get rid of the heart-fire symptoms such as insomnia, palpitation, mania or delirium.
Shake the spine vigorously by jumping up and down to help prevent disease.
Hold up the fists & put on an angry face. This improves strength and vital-energy (qi).
Hold your feet by your hands to reinforce loin & kidney health.

Swimming is good for heart
Iâve known Lily for just three months. She is the most beautiful and young judge Iâve ever met. When I asked her how to keep fit and slim, she smiled at me: âSwimmingâ.
âThe first time I tried to learn swimming was in 1998 but until five years later I could swim.â Update she has swam for almost ten year.
She has some problems with heart and was encouraged to learn swimming by the doctor. âThe doctor suggests five exercises, which is good for people with heart problem. It includes swimming, yoga, jogging, walking fast and climbing stairs. â Lily said.
She added: âI feel totally energetic each time I swim and I can work efficiently for the whole day.â Lily said that it was worthy swimming even it would take her an hour.
When asked how to overcome the fear of water for the beginners, she suggests to wear swimming goggles, âYou wonât be scared if you can see the water.â She said.
High aerobic fitness in late adolescence is associated with reduced risk of heart attack
See on Scoop.it - Fitness Awareness
Aims Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and signs of atherosclerosis are present in all large arteries already in adolescence. We investigated the association between high physical fitness in late adolescence and myocardial infarction (MI) later in life.
Methods and results The study cohort comprised 743,498 Swedish men examined at the age of 18 years during conscription 1969â84. Aerobic fitness (Wmax) and muscle strength at conscription were measured. During follow-up period of 34 years, 11,526 MIs were registered in the cohort. After adjusting for age, body mass index (BMI), diseases, education, blood pressure, and socio-economic factors, one standard deviation increase in the level of physical fitness was associated with an 18% decreased risk of later MI.  The beneficial effects of Wmax were significant across all recognized BMI groups, ranging from lean (BMI < 18.5) to obese (BMI > 30) (P < 0.05 for all). However, obese men (BMI > 30) in the highest fourth of Wmax had a higher risk of MI than did lean men (BMI < 18.5) in the highest (HR 4.6, 95% CI 1.9â11.2), and lowest (HR 1.7, 95% CI 1.2â2.6) fourth of Wmax.
Conclusions We report a significant graded association between aerobic fitness in late adolescence and MI later in life in men. However, obese men with a high aerobic fitness had a higher risk of MI than lean men with a low aerobic fitness.
