Do you remember sliding?
I was teaching recently in one of my gyms and noticed slide boards hiding in the corner. It brought me right back to my 90's classes when slide aerobics was so popular I had to teach 2 slide classes in a row. Then they were banned from most of the gyms for ' being too dangerous". The truth is they are not more dangerous or harmful then kickboxing or step aerobics ( which is going away as well). I think slide aerobics is gone because of lack of creativity in movements. But that's all excuses because slide boards kicks some serious ass. As I said before I haven't seen this amazing item since 2003 in any gym so I was excited like a kid on a Christmas morning to do my work out on slides. Well.... I DID! Felt like a million bucks after my workout as it included both cardiovascular and lower body toning. For the next 3 days I barely could walk. It's ok. In fact I love this feeling! Makes me feel stronger and motivates to watch what I eat. Overly, I think gyms are missing out big times on banning this type of exercise in classes. I am happy that I can have at least couple of boards available to me now so I can do my favorite workout for myself. As well as some lucky members who take personal fitness classes with me. I know I like a bit old fashion type of workouts but regardless that is always going to give you results you want. Thank you slide boards!
