and, and I cannot stress this enough, love was a major part of the equation both times,, yeah of course she loved artagan so much that he became a god yeah sure that's a fairytale we've all heard. but. she loved molly so much that lucien died. like she said "we love you so much and we want you back" at the thing that used to be her friend and it broke lucien's brain just enough that molly could overpower him and finish the job himself. do you ever think about it.

delilah "I broke the world for you" briarwood would have an aneurysm if she found out some kid on the other side of the planet is repeatedly aligning the starts on accident thru the power of love n friendship. she also very much flipped some 120yr old evil war criminal wizards world upside down just by existing near him. miss jester lavorre regularly repeatedly steps into the coldest darkest most loveless places and paints curtains. makes a window where there wasn't one before. lets the light in. i love her.

So I'm actually watching vox machina for the first time in full (after researching the major story beats and reveals for my mighty nein watch knowledge and watching tlovm) and I already do not agree that any of vox machina would. immediately turn down laudna's resurrection even if they knew about delilah.

because cassandra looked them in the eye and said she was a briarwood and percy—soul still caught in a battle with the entity he sold it to for this very purpose, to end the briarwoods and take his revenge—was the one to stop grog from killing her. because vax took him aside one day and told him, if he lost control, if he put vex or any of the others in danger, he would kill him. and percy gave him his blessing.

because vex took percy's face in her hands as he was losing control, and calmly told him to take off his mask. because keyleth stood by percy's side and kept him straight, worried and argued and stressed and maintained the throughline of good that she knew exists in him. because percy trusted pike enough to ask her, genuinely, what he looked like. and because she saw his deal and cast no judgement and healed him.

even throwing aside the fact that they will see the familiar devastation in bells hells of losing a friend, throwing aside that particular brand of empathy...I think even more than that they understand the power of simply staying by someone's side in their darkness. they know first hand what keeping someone in the light takes, and I think they'll take one look at bells hells and know that they have what it takes to keep laudna safe.
