I'm genuinely so upset and disgusted rn, using valko as a scapegoat to avoid accountability for valid issues regarding the game is not only cowardly but immature. It really shows how greedy and apathetic infold has gotten.
Not only that, but the blatant racism is absolutely insane, valko was just the slightest bit tan and the CN 'fans' couldn't handle that. The colorism is so gross to see. I was so excited for valko I fully intended on downloading the game for him. Also, not to mention the fact that this is going to just reinforce that CN players can pressure infold into anything and that it doesn't matter what global players want.
I'm genuinely so sad

𝔄𝔠𝔱 𝔗𝔥𝔯𝔢𝔢: I wish I knew you
Yeah, it's been 13 hours since he talked to you on the phone. Shiu can't wait to get straight towards you town. He can feel something explode in his heart. He desires that he had hidden for so long, but neither you nor Toji affects his heart this deeply. The time he has come and protect you. He picks up speed swiftly moving through traffic.
“How long more do we have?” Toji snapped him out of his own thoughts.
“No more than 20 minutes and then extra time to get to her place” He kind of wants to get to first thing before getting a room.
The road trip was longer than what he wanted to be, with the sounds of Toji's obnoxious snoring and occasional twitching in his sleep. Shiu wondered what got him twitching around so badly.
As a passing thought, he was reminded why Toji never liked driving at least long trips like this but the thought of you crossed his mind heavily and how you still kept him close for so long even when you moved so far was he truly much closer to you then he thought. You had Toji blocked from any contact. Not Shiu. He could have contacted any other if he was being honest with himself. He is always reminded every time that Toji caused the drift between the two of you. He gave you space because he wanted to respect your boundaries even if that meant never speaking to him again.
Now his mind drifts further as he entered a flow state while driving. How you two had meant before Toji came into the picture.
Toji snatched you up within months of meeting you and Shiu knew for more than 3 years at that and it was all yesterday's memory but still sits on his heart like a sorrowful song and the cries just won't end.
There it was again...Something that could bring this man into a spiral.
The heavy breathing was slow now. each breath weighed down by a heaviness on his chest that hurt, yet somehow felt irresistibly addictive. 'God, I missed you,' he muttered, punching the steering wheel in frustration as thoughts of how long it had been since you both last talked flooded his mind.
Memories of how they became friends always flickered when he thought of you.
It was an early afternoon marked by rain, but the sky above betrayed that with clouds darker than smoke just the way Shiu liked it.
The gloomy weather offered a perfect excuse to unwind after a grueling mission with Toji. Though Toji wasn't much of a drinker, Shiu was and he desperately needed that escape.
Sipping smooth cognac in a quiet corner of the bar, sitting across from Toji, Shiu listened to him complain about the mess he had to clean up, bemoaning how the cleanup crew hadn't shown up on time.
His words drifted past Shiu's focus, which was fixated on you. Damn.
Watching you laugh and smile, so lively made him feel ancient in comparison. You were with co-workers or a friends having a blast. And think about it he realized you're probably so much different now.
He'd never seen you before and you weren't his usual type not someone he'd usually pursue, since his flings were mostly fleeting, superficial attractions. Your beauty was something he couldn't quite put his finger on. He had to talk to you.
That familiar tug in his chest and the anxious flutter in his stomach never went away. And still feels that way to this day.
"Hey, you listening? What the hell are you staring at?" Toji snapped, breaking Shiu's gaze.
"Ah, I see. Well, what do you want to do again?" Shiureplied, still fixated on you.
“Nevermind you seem to be focus on something. What is it?”
"Nothing. Just mind your own business and sit here," Shiu shot back with a glare. Toji pouted, munching on salty fries and a burger, dismissing the irritation.
As he approached you, it felt as if everyone else faded away into darkness. The world grew silent, his heartbeat pounding loudly in his ears, almost vibrating on his face. When you finally stopped and looked back, Shiu held his gaze until you reached out your hand to give a little wave.
"Um, hi," you said awkwardly.
'Come on, man. Wake up,' he thought, then snapped out of it.
"Oh—uh, hi," he said, scratching the back of his neck, eyes dropping.
His usual smooth confidence was gone as he prepared to walk away when you spoke again.
"I'm Y/N, and you?" you asked with a smile that made his heart melt.
"Sorry, I might've had a little too much to drink. I get all happy and start talking to everyone haha.” You laughed , he chuckled.
From that moment, you two struck up an easy conversation, sitting at the bar while your friends had long left, and Toji had fallen asleep at the booth, unbothered. But that didn't matter. Time flew by like it never existed before you knew it was officially dark and the storm had cleared.
"Shiu, please," you begged.
"No, I probably shouldn't have said that about myself," he joked, cheeks flushing pink as you moved closer. Then your alarmed ranged.
"Here, take my number! And call me, okay?" you teased with a sly squint and a playful threat, then stumbled on your way to the bar. He rushed to help you, then called you a cab.
Calling and texting to ensure you got home safe and gradually, you became part of his routine. A part of his life. And soon he wanted you to be his whole world.
After dropping off Toji, he'd head straight to you. Days turned into months, and though his feelings remained fiery, he sensed you saw him as just a friend…no kisses, no long touches. Still, he cared, and though he knew it was selfish, he was relieved you weren't interested in anyone else. He never pressed, until your birthday arrived.
He planned a surprise party. When the day came, your eyes shimmered with tears. "No one's ever done this for me before... Shiu, thank you," you whispered, pulling him into a tight hug. In that moment, he could have died happy, seeing you so radiant. Seeing you with all your friends. Happy.
But memories have a way of haunting him. It was the night you met Toji face to face…the night everything changed. Toji wasn't interested in meeting you, yet he knew how Shiu felt about you. He never meddled in his business and never cared to.
Something felt off, and he searched for you, asking around your friends.
They said you were upstairs, outside on the balcony. He brought two drinks, one for you, one for himself and in that moment he was planning to confess his feelings, regardless of how you felt.
He wanted to get it off his chest and mind. To tell you, you changed him and he will always keep you close to heart.
Shiu was never big on being this emotionally available or vulnerable. It was interesting watching him be this soft.
"Hey, Y/N, I brought... your... favorite—" The words died in his throat as he saw you kissing Toji.
More than that, you were making out intensely. Shocked, he watched as you giggled, innocence radiating from you. Toji was the only person besides him who understood what that moment truly meant. Shiu's nose flared as he inhaled and exhaled trying collect his thought after what he had just witnessed.
It took everything not to punch Toji for that stupid, sorry look on his face. He should have known better. Instead, he played it cool, apologized for the interruption, and left quietly. You called out to Shiu, but he ignored you, hurting more than he showed.
You searched for him amongst your friends, but he was gone.
He parked elsewhere to be alone and also unfortunately he had to wait for Toji to prepare for the next mission. Business as usual.
Gripping the steering wheel so tightly that he nearly lost control, he finally brought the car to a stop, hitting the wheel twice to wake Toji.
"You're right, man. You seem tense," Toji remarked.
He could have snapped then, but he didn't. He simply drove on, waiting for the green light. To make the turn to your apartment.
"I'm going upstairs to talk to her, and then come back down right after. Got it?" he ordered more sternly as he parked and stopped the engine
Toji nodded quietly, sensing the gravity of the moment. The tension was thick, knowing your life was at stake and that making peace was the only way forward. Somehow, Shiu always managed to clean up the mess that he made.
Shiu hurried up the stairs, frustration flickering in his eyes the elevator to your apartment was out of service. Despite his uneasy feeling about that, his priority was clear: he needed to talk to you. He appreciated your patience, not hanging up on him, and that meant a lot.
Most of your resentment was directed at Toji. Shiu still blamed himself for much of what had happened and he was used to piecing everything together and fixing it whenever you faltered. As his handler, that was his job. But now, everything felt different. He was torn between a girl he loved fiercely and a man he once called a friend, someone who took you away and shattered your heart. That changed everything between you and him, and now more than ever, forgiving Toji seemed nearly impossible.
He knocked three times, hearing you scuffling behind the door.
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" you called out.
When you finally cracked the door open, just a small gap, your eyes immediately met Shiu's. His heart fluttered at the sight of your face. You hesitated, the door inching open, but he remained patient, waiting.
"Can I come in?" he asked gently.
You hesitated briefly before replying, "Yeah, sure. Sorry, it's been a while since we last saw each other." He chuckled softly, feeling the same mixture of nerves and relief.
Looking around your half-empty apartment spacious and way more spacious than the last place you lived. Everything is well organized, and it smells pretty like the perfumes that you wear or combine harmoniously into the air creating a signature that says this is you. You had decorum around but maybe you were still furniture shopping.
"So what are you doing here and why did you feel like it was so urgent for you to talk to me?" he didn't make eye contact as you were talking. Your body is so stiff get rubbing your arm. Toji really number on you didn't he? You were so closed off far from your usual personality.
But he seems to do that to everyone he claims who cares and love.
"Well, firstly I just wanted to say that I missed you and I know that you're going through a lot but I just wanted to acknowledge that what happened with—"
"Look, just get to the point I don't even wanna mention him in anyway my stomach turns when I hear anything about him I can't even look through my gallery without seeing his face on my phone"
Pinching his lips then and forming a frown, he understood the feeling unfortunately he has to see this man every day.
"Yeah, you're right. I'm sorry so I will just keep this short and sweet. I know seeing me bringing memories that you don't want and it hurts me to know that I do that as you know about me being a handler for him.—" Shiu breathes in and out taking deep breaths, as he doesn't know if you're even gonna believe this because he didn't believe this either
"You're in danger, grave danger" After hearing those words, you get up, tossing your hands above your head
"Great, just great another way for him to just ruin my life again as if he hasn't already fucked me up enough"
" I know I know trust me. He's doing a great job on me too. I have no other way to get around it though because I need his help when I say that you're in grave danger, I mean it. He got caught up in our last mission and I was dragged into it. there were decisions and deals being made and an admission that was failed. And then there was you.”
" wait wait wait you're not making any sense what mission and what do I have to do with this and what decision are you guys making on my behalf?" arms crossed as you will begin defensive not a good look for the situation as he did not want to pose any harm threats or any sort of uncomfortable feelings as he wanted you to hear exactly what you needed to hear for him to get their plan moving along smoothly, but he should've thought twice about that.
"Hold on let me just explain it from the beginning you just please give me time please" You fell on the couch, taking deep breaths and wiping your face with your sleeves, curling your eyes at the ceiling as if you were making a decision
"All right shoot…tell me everything"
Within the span of 30 minutes, it felt like an hour, so explain to you everything that happened on the mission. What the mission entailed, and how things went left he mentioned everything about the black magic. even to the point of showing you proof of his injuries.
At first, you weren't receptive to believing what was happening and what was going to happen? You shook your head, but you remember that cold night the blood stains on Toji’s shirt and the argument. You would have rather he was just sleeping with random women than what he was doing for work. That was why he came late. He had a secret that was even darker into a world that you did not belong in, and somehow you got sucked into it
Tears began to fall from your eyes and frustration. Instead, it all ended up being in his arms."What do you mean they're trying to kill me!!all I want is to live a normal life again so it's all taken away from me again because of TOJI!!"
You screamed hitting his chest
"Don't blame it all on him I had to come to a decision too otherwise I—"
" no no I refuse to believe that you made that decision by yourself. I know you to do it as he always does with everyone he's always doing something so fucking stupid and never thinking about anybody else but himself." Hearing you say this brought a strange sense of comfort. He's been feeling this way for years now, but here you say it and bring some joy, and also pain because only he knows the truth about Toji.
Still, there are no excuses and now look at you all of this could've been prevented or at least he would like to think. Maybe this was just fate bringing you and Shiu together once more in a tragic way.
Just as Shiu was going to say something his phone rang" It better not be that fucker he can wait" you said as you hugged Shiu tighter and again he could just die like this.
"No it... it's the guy."
"Oh.. Well, I won't hold you go ahead I'll be in my room." as trailed off in your room you felt a sense of comfort. With Shiu walking and talking in the living room it had you thinking about how things used to be before Toji came into the picture with all his charms and that fake persona. You rolled into a ball as the feeling of shame washed over you. How could you not see it before?..Shiu's feelings?
If only you had confirmation. You always wanted to ask.
" Hello, Mr. Kong I see you arrived in town. Welcome. I just wanted you to know you aren't stopping what has been promised to me. But do come to the Red Moon Festival for this next two weeks, it should help pass the time." A laugh was heard from him.
"Asshole—"
The call was cut before he could say anything. Swiftly placing the phone in his pocket and then turned his head to your room door pink and blue lighting from your sunset lamps cast over your room and he could see your shadowy figure against the wall striding toward your room twisting his heels he made a quick decision toward you.
A simple knock softly announcing his presence you looked up to see him
" Come in sit!"
" You know I can't stay here long I have to get a hotel and get some rest. Besides I got the big guy downstairs waiting for me”
"Okay, hurry and do that and come back to tonight. Let's talk like old times”
Shiu shook his head time was of the essence
" Dol, you know I have things to do and me being here isn't safe for you" looking up at Shiu with those eyes
" Please like old times" How could he resist you
"Like old times, huh?"

𝔄𝔠𝔱 𝔗𝔴𝔬: I wish you knew
The abandoned building on the outside appeared distressed and tattered, with broken windows and peeling paint, revealing years of neglect. Inside, however, it was surprisingly well maintained, featuring polished black marble floors that reflected the dim lighting, gilded moldings along the ceiling edges, and rich cherry wood panels lining the walls, giving an air of opulence amidst decay.
Occultic symbolism was everywhere.
Newly installed chandeliers with sparkling crystal droplets hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow across the room. This space was destined to become Suguru's new headquarters, a secluded locale outside of town where he could conduct illicit 'businesses' away from prying eyes after years of operating underground.
He and along with his trusted allies, had been connecting the dots recently, drawing the attention of authorities who were starting to ask uncomfortable questions. He knew he couldn't afford that...
Thus, the hush hush meeting between him, Toji, and Shiu had to end...permanently. With the string of murders and missing people. He needed to keep things moving along faster now. Suguru was becoming as reckless as his thirst for more knowledge in the dark arts.
Plans needed to be set into motion soon, he manage to keep Toji and Shiu under his fingers and you were the precious gems who had helped bring everything together. A quick flashback revealed how this arrangement began.
Just two years ago, Suguru struck a deal with Toji after an attempt to kill him had failed miserably. Following the successful assassination of two of Suguru's close associates, he realized his own life was on the line, and danger was closing in.
Toji thoughtfully recalled the moment he agreed to the pact with Suguru. On one hand, he could have sacrificed himself to save you, but that was the plan all along and manipulated out of the choice. Knowing he is choosing to leave his sons and you behind, vanishing without a trace and no answers. Long hours of contemplation passed, and he accepted that this was how it had to be and that he was not long for Suguru's world. The world he is trying create in sick mind.
Not long after, Suguru casually remarked, "I've been watching your every move. I knew I was being watched, so I decided to do something smarter.”
Perhaps target your little girlfriend. She seems like a better prospect, hm?" Leaning close to Toji's face despite being held down by five of Suguru's imposing men, he sneered.
As Toji struggled to reach his gun, he refused to let you get caught up in all this chaos; the relay was already compromised due to his emotional neglect. His hand was stopped by a sharp knife pressed against his flesh. He groaned in pain and whimpered, "Like hell I'll let you touch her!" Spittle flew from his mouth as he spat defiantly, a cruel smile spreading across Suguru's face. He laughs.
"Bring out the friend, please," he commanded.
Down the hall, the sounds of a scuffle and Shiu's yells echoed through the tense atmosphere, accompanied by grunts trying to prevent Suguru from restraining Toji. Despite being pinned on the ground next to Toji, Shiu somehow managed to keep a cigarette clenched between his teeth. "Ugh— is the knee on my back really necessary?" he muttered, wincing.
Suguru smirking, announced, "Now that we're all accounted for, I'll entertain you for a bit. I knew you'd come looking for me in this place after the death of my two associates, I knew all too well."
He stepped forward, kneeling to pluck the cigarette from Shiu's mouth and taking a long puff, blowing smoke directly into their faces, forcing them to cough.
Toji squirmed, trying to break free, shouting, "You know I was going to make your death easier. Now I'm gonna gut from the neck down!"
Suguru chuckled, "Oh, dear Toji, you're such a brute. You see this podium behind me? I could lay you out right here and do the same. Your heart will be a vital part of my ritual's power." “I want to see you try.” His finger curled into his pocket, gripping the handle of a hidden knife, waiting for the perfect moment. With his hands tied behind his back, Toji cut his rope loose, flipping himself upright just in time.
He pushed both men off and quickly snapped the neck of one attacker, kicking another in the face with such force that it knocked him unconscious. He stormed toward Suguru, stopping mere inches from his face, pressing a knife to his neck.
"Listen, asshole, you won't lay a hand on her. Let us go, and I'll do my job, and we'll walk out of here," Toji demanded.
However, the situation was far from simple. Toji and Shiu had no idea about Suguru's secret dealings with black magic and occult rituals. Deep into forbidden arts, Suguru was planning something darker. Yet, despite this, Toji charged forward, plunging his knife deeper into Suguru's neck. Was he frozen... or something else?
Toji struggled to move, his body rigid, only able to shift his head slightly to the side, eyes wide with terror. He desperately tried to force himself free, channeling all his strength, but he was overwhelmed. He could only hear Suguru's hysterical laughter echoing as his distorted, scared face grimaced, revealing the grip of fear behind his calm facade.
The blood from Toji's wound was dripping in slow motion feeling his eye lid becoming heavy and Suguru stepped aside from his grip. Revealing that Toji was the only one being frozen in time.
"So this does work I know I've been practicing for so long and I finally got it to work. I finally got it to-" but the force was not held up long enough as he didn't have the strength to keep holding on to the force against Toji, taking this opportunity that he's on top of him and grabs him by the neck seemingly choking him and everything goes black
"What the hell is going on and what did you just do to me? Talk to me dammit!"
There was no use before told you to make another move. He was hitting back at the head by something when awoken told you he was back in his car with Shiu lighting a cigarette as if nothing happened. Trying to be nonchalant but he was shaking.
"You mind telling me what the hell is going on or did I just have some messed up ass dream?"
"No you weren't dreaming all that shit was real —shit!" Shiu couldn't keep his cool for too long
Jumping up from his seat, trying to get out of the car, but the lock was on
"Let me out of here we gotta help her. He's gonna kill her."
" he won't do anything at least anytime soon we have to come to an agreement we must"
"Don't talk to me like that...what happened back there? I couldn't even move for a good five minutes. What the hell is this weirdo into?"
Shutting his eyes before blowing out smoke from his mouth "Toji, we have a lot to talk about you but before we talk privately we have to meet him and I've seen some things...a lot of things you may not understand right now and in that man's head, he truly believes that he can bring on a God and he's gonna use her as a vessel"
" I don't understand"
" I don't either I already talked to the headquarters and presumed and postponed this mission as a failure first one on the mark"
Toji just shook his head he can't care about feeling this mission and more about failing you
" We're still here...do we just go and talk to that fucker?"
"Precisely, let's go,"
Shiu without hesitation as he swiftly rises from the driver's seat. He opens the car door, spins his keys around his finger with a jingle, and tucks them into his slacks pocket. Both men are determined to leave the temple behind, to disrupt the first encounter that will determine your fate. You are about to become the new vessel to resurrect Ryomen Sukuna. But depending on how fate weaves its red threads, Toji and Shiu crafted plan to delay this moment should stop this from happening. Perhaps turning it into something that never happens to you. To do so, they must find ways to negotiate. This is the first time Shiu faces a challenge outside his usual realm of negotiation. His job is to strike swiftly and silently, leaving no trace, no sign, just the job done. The handler commands, and Toji, the mercenary, simply pulls the trigger. Toji glances at his phone, where your picture…still saved as his screensaver. He won't admit it, but he often looks at it, sometimes with a hint of tears in his eyes.
Two years have passed since then. Surprisingly, nothing has changed, as Suguru's plan unfolds. All the side quests he sent the men on to gather intel and handle miscellaneous tasks were part of his larger scheme.
"I can't believe this even works," Toji mutters as he observes the flickering, dim lights. Black smoke swirls around the chandelier, forming a cloud that seems to radiate Suguru's aura, shrouding him like an ominous cloak.
"You'll be surprised about a lot of things today, Mr. Fushiguro."
Taking their seat on the cold temple tiles as Suguru talked about what would come to the front of them, showing off his newest endeavors of esoteric studies. He's become stronger and stronger every time they all meet and now Toji realize sometime ago he wouldn't be able to use hand to hand combat to disarm him.
After the meeting, they were dissatisfied, discouraged that they could keep you safe, pretending, and that is to find where you are and take you for themselves. Toji knows that you'll be displaced and wouldn't want to go with them anywhere which is why he had a bad idea to simply kidnap you. Until everything died down
"Thought that asshole had us figured out the whole time"
" Yep—" Knew that we were going to do the same thing we normally do"
"Yes, that's about right" at the sunset over the hill looking over the skyline and the sea that was in front of them and all of the bright lights and the stars above were a beautiful sight on a grand day. There's nothing more than they can do.
Shout flicked his cigarette kicking he's legs, swaying and snapping his fingers while suck in his teeth
He slammed both hands on the hood of his car "Well shit! I'm out of options what about you?"
" I'm in the same boat as you." Toji arms crossed, leaning against the car lost in his thoughts as he wondered what you were doing right now he glanced at Shiu frantically mashing buttons on his phone. “I'm going back to original plan.”
" Who are you on the with—" Toji knew what that meant but he wanted to stall having any interaction as much as possible.
" I'm calling Y/n..."
Wide eyes he was going to speak and protest against the idea. He heard the phone ring ‘great he had you on speakerphone’. Well, at least Toji was right on one thing you didn't hate Shiu enough to have blocked him or change your number.
your deepest slumber you heard her ringing on your phone, which woke you up so quickly with your eyes wide shut, like headlights you put it around your bed looking for your vibrating device you don't know if you were still sleepy or were just dreaming.
" Whyyyy….ugghh really? I was sleeping so well too” Your heart was stammering you felt the vibration throughout your body. You wanted to answer but a part of you was trying to uphold the boundary you set to never speak to both of them again. But why now Shiu…why call now?
You acted before you realized what you just did. Pressing the green button.
" Hello?" a deep familiar voice boomed through your eardrums.
“Y/n. It's me.”
“Yeah I know.”
You were shaking but why? You're not afraid of them like you are life was in danger.
"Shiu... what's wrong?" The only explanation as to why he would call is because something is wrong. Compared to his companion, he was not the type to override your boundaries.
"Is this a bad time? I just... I need to talk to you if I can." Holding the phone tightly, waiting for your response, Toji listened on the other side. He felt it was childish to be jealous that he couldn't talk to you. You would hang up in a heartbeat.
He wished you would be like this soft with him he knew all too well he messed that up with you and the best case scenario is letting Shiu handle this.
"Okay, but only for you. I don't need any surprises from you Shiu... just you."
Shiu makes eye contact with Toji as they both silently confirm " Yeah sure, doll. It will just be me."
After the conversation went on for what felt like forever Toji was eager to hear all that was said after Shiu finally hung up. There was a point int the conversation when he took you off speaker
"So? She okay with us being there?"
" You know you would have to wait in the car, right? I kinda want to avoid any trouble with them after I promise it will just be me. Got it?"
" Yeah, yeah. Just you... always was." Toji meant to say that last part in his head but it slipped he didn't care other than getting the chance to see you again.
"Whaddya want for dinner? It's on me this time." Toji professes looking at his bandaged wound on his hand avoiding eye contact.
" You buy me dinner? You? Must be something to Geto's magic after all or I'm dreaming" Shiu chuckles
"You want something or not?!" Both men enter the car
"Yeah, I'll think about it on the way there."

𝔄𝔠𝔱 𝔒𝔫𝔢: Nightmares
You found yourself lying in the snow, flakes brushing against your eyelashes. You slowly open your eyes, trying to rise, but your body feels heavy. The tightness in your chest worsens.
A reminder of your burdens.
Breathing is labored, and each inhale feels more painful than the next.
"No. Not this place again."
The icy winds cut through your lungs, wrapping around your neck and seeping through your PJs, causing unbearable discomfort.
Looking down, you see bruises and red rope on your wrist, symbols of past struggles. You blink, trying to dispel the darkness in the woods, hoping to wake from this nightmare.
"Still in this place. This dream. Why won't it stop?!"
Despite the pain, you muster strength and stand, walking through the snow with bare feet as cold bites your skin and your hair dances wildly.
A ringing in your ear alerts you to distant screams behind the trees, and you turn to see flames engulfing a scene of pain and horror something new in your dreams. The image fades, leaving only the winter breeze. Sudden vibrations beneath you sound like something large approaching, but in the darkness ahead, there's only a metallic scent and echoes swirling in the snow.
Your teeth chatter from the cold, your body trembles, feeling increasingly unstable with every step you take. The nightmare feels so real every time you wake.
Suddenly, loud thumping vibrations shake the ground, you turn to see nothing but darkness in front. The cold, the scent, the feeling of lurking danger why do you keep returning? Why does your mind keep replaying this same place?
Your skin prickles, your sanity fraying. As warmth and heat surround you with an approaching figure large, breathing down your neck seemingly about to speak you feel its breath and almost hear it growl.
You don't know what it is, but you know it's a dream and you will wake up. Closing your eyes, and squeezing them tightly, the shadow touches your shoulders, claws squeezing you, and then...

"Well, that was some dream. Do you remember anything else?" your therapist asks as she notes. "Uh no. Just want this to stop. It's been three weeks, always ending in these woods with that shadowy thing.” you quiver, feeling childish and embarrassed to talk about these terrors. They started after you moved to a new city. You still don't feel like yourself.
"Y/n, look at me," your therapist says, gripping your hands tightly. "Keeping things to yourself won't make it easier. Let introduce new habits based on what you told me you isolate yourself to feel safe.”
“ Yeah well, I don't feel safe even when I do. I feel like life is passing me by.”
She gave some advice on how to handle the fear of missing out and you talked some more about your day. After a few more minutes of talking, your session had concluded.
"If there's nothing else, see you next week?" "Sure, thank you, Dr. Kim." You nod
Leaving the office, you move to the elevator, back against the wall, easing the tension in your chest. Life has been tough since the move, and you're trying to adjust. Just when things seem stable, everything changes, and you start over, which feels hard. It seems everyone else is thriving, but you feel stiff, behind, unable to catch up because of circumstances. You hope to meet someone who listens.
Your past life wasn't so bad…loving boyfriend, good friends, peaceful lifestyle. It felt like you had everything together, but a breakup taught independence was more important than anything. Losing your identity was the last thing you wanted again.
Starting fresh feels overwhelming, like weights on your shoulders. The best you can do is take one day at a time, doing what you can, as Dr. Kim advises. And because your dreams have become so.. Immersive she prescribed you some medication.

Walking down the street searching for a place for an iced coffee and a sweet treat to cheer yourself up.
Heading home for the day to try to relax and forget anything. Tossing your keys on the kitchen counter and practically inhaling your iced coffee. You reflect on your dream last night once again this was so vivid it confirmed your every fear. Of being chased by some u know entity well this case more beast like.
The rumbling and the screams you walk your way to your balcony to enjoy the rest of your coffee.
You sit and admire the nice view of the town you decided to move to 6 months ago now. Fall was steadily approaching the Red Moon festival was approaching soon.
How could you forget?
Temples will be open now 24 hours and the streets and light poles were filled wrapped in red and white silk ribbons and red lanterns that hung at the very top and at night it was a beautiful sight to see. This happens twice a year. For spring and winter. You couldn't wait to see it for both seasons.
It warmed your hardened heart to see everyone preparing for these festivities. Almost made you miss your old home and the people you used to know.
You could sit here and dwell and cry about it but you know all too well it would be a waste of time. Betrayal and heartache are all you know now.
Shutting the sliding door plopping on the couch you sit in front of the TV and a commercial is playing the same long haired man in a traditional robe on your screen. A priest insisting that he could heal cursed wounds and spiritual needs.
"Well he is certainly handsome and full of himself" you said to yourself. Ever since you moved to this place you've seen him nonstop on commercials and posters around town, billboards and you could go a day without hearing about him. Suguru Geto he's pretty popular here. Even your therapist recommends you see him at least once. The guy seems to have the town wrapped around his finger.
Before you knew it your favorite show was on and the day went from light to sunset you slowly drifted into a slumber.
Your phone began to ring with an unknown caller ID but you never noticed you were sound asleep
❆❄︎
❆❄︎
"Damn it. Just answer the call" the man banged on the dashboard out of frustration.
Two men sat in a black Mercedes with the windows blacked out wafting in cigarette smoke, and swirled and danced in the air.
"Look.. You've been trying for weeks now. Hell months, if she doesn't want to talk. Then she doesn't want to. Has it ever occurred to you that she A doesn't answer unknown calls and B would even let me get a word out before hanging up?" beside him replied
" Well…Shiu you can be more of a help and call her for me I know she doesn't hate you."
Shaking his head and just laughing
"Now why the hell would I do that?" Suddenly he paused thinking about it for moment " Toji man up. If you want her badly you have to make some changes in your approach."
Toji folds his muscular arms and pouting " If she wasn't so stubborn she would have moved far away from me to prove a point and now all of a sudden
“ We don't have much time for that. You can keep saying she's stubborn but that doesn't change the past and currently doesnt change how we fucked up.”
Staring out the window Shiu sees the priest himself waving behind him was a abandoned Temple.
“Toji we’re late, come on. "

❆❄︎
Back at home lying wide awake now in bed regretting moving from your spot on the couch. You were so comfortable now you can't seem to sleep.
Thinking about how things used to be sometimes it feels like nostalgia could drift you back maybe it wasn't so bad and all you needed to do was talk
Then you remember talking led to fights
You had expectations and life showed you the reality of what it was likelf having what you thought you wanted, when things went south.
Burning heat and passion and he was gone the next. Nothing stopped Toji from leaving you in the dust without a word. Departing without a word and when he got back you weren't the first to know.
It got lonely too when you were in his company he made you feel so small. You concerns were seen as complaints.
People loved you both together and hated you for that as well. You looked so good together, it wasn't like he never cared about you.
Life before him was no better as your friends never liked you associating with Shiu either. They were bad news and they were right.
Little did you know he received that lack too until Toji was involved.Things just went downhill from there too.
Toji wasn't one to keep secrets so when found about Megumi, right after your big fight it was something that left a lasting scar in your heart and so of course learning about his son made you look at him differently what else was he hiding and why did he feel the need to hide that from you of all things? You were so understanding about his line of work. Well… that he also lied about too.
Shiu too. The man you have tested your life with was also a part of that madness. And how Toji reacted ugh— you don't even want to think about that now.
All this was exhausting to think about but it was working your eyes slowly became heavy and soon you fell asleep.
❆❄︎
❆❄︎
One the other hand Toji gets out to greet the long-haired man. Shiu tosses a cigarette stepping on it before he too reaches out his hand ti shake the mans hand.
“Nice seeing you again boys. I hope we can come to an agreement this time because I'm not taking no for an answer,” he spoke slyly
“ yeah let's get this over with I have a proposal”
“I'm with Toji on this one. I too have a proposal of my own.”
The priest smiles widen. There was a dark aura that shadowed him. He clasped his hands together they remained hidden under his sleeves.
“ Well then shall we get to it? Let's head inside. I have much to show you.”
Following behind the man inside the Abandoned Temple. Shrouded in the middle of a deserted area.

Linger
A few days have passed since then, and everything seemed blissful.
At times, you thought you enjoyed yourself watching TV.
this is Raian we're talking about. That man never knows peace, or understands it for that matter. To him, it's quite boring. He constantly seeks trouble, always craving problems.
And his favorite problem lately was you. He loves pestering you. And you act as if you hate it when you entertain his shenanigans.
The routine included constant teasing and play fighting, and tonight was no different. Sneaking up on you.
"Ugh, Raian, quit it! Stop tickli—AHAHA!" His arms wrapped around you, tickling you from both sides.
You kicked and tossed trying to flip him over, but he's way too heavy. The urgency of your struggle gave you an advantage and you managed to roll him onto his side.
"Looks like someone got a little stronger!" he said proudly, a hint of amusement in his voice.
You groaned in frustration "You play too much"
"Alright, I'll let you go... for now." He snickered.
Both of you were panting, especially you. You were fighting for your life against this man's strong grip.
He had tickled you so much you thought you would never escape his grasp. You stood up to fix your clothes, noting your hair was now a wild mess.
Raian hopped over to the couch and sat casually, turning on the TV.
"Hey, you. You hungry? I was thinking of making something for dinner, any ideas?" you asked.
He opened his mouth to speak and suddenly, there was a knock on your door before he could answer
Raian glanced up, wondering who it could be.
"I got it. Don't move" he reluctantly got up, heading towards the door.
He was mildly annoyed, perhaps it was one of your annoying ass friends. Especially that one friend what's her name again the one who talks too much he couldn't think of their name.
When he opened the door, he looked surprised then at an unreadable look. Someone was there, but he never said who they were. They talked for a few seconds, and you couldn't hear anything from the kitchen.
" Rai is everything okay?" No answer, just him closing and locking the door. But his mood suddenly shifted he plopped his butt on the couch as if nothing had happened.
That was weird.
"Soooo was at my door?"
" Hm? Oh ah nobody important just someone got the wrong address or something"
"Hm okay"
Curious, you wondered who it was. Never bothered to ask you figured maybe he was just annoyed by the interruption.
———————
You went to the market to shop for your weekly essentials and something special to make for Raian and you. You wanted to make something nice for dinner.
You wanted to gather a couple of things, thinking of different dishes to make.
When you unexpectedly bumped into someone you were not expecting.
Though, you were surprised to see him, he didn't seem all that surprised to see you.
It's been a minute since you saw him from the last encounter. And you were kind of glad it would have been awkward to see him at the bar when you were with Raian.
You were thinking you would never see him again honestly.
You were pushing your cart down the bakery aisle looking at the large selection of bread when a familiar voice called out from behind.
"Nice seeing you here,y/n."
You turned your head
"Oh uh nice seeing you too." you replied nervously. " How have you been?"
‘What are you doing here?’
Looking around at the shelves filled with baked goods, you hesitated. Trying not to pay the man any mind.
" Same as always but I'm better now" he stood watching you with his hands in his pockets. You had no idea what he meant by that and you weren't trying to entertain it either.
Casually walking behind you didn't mind, he didn't seem to have any weird intentions just wanted to make small talk you assumed.
"How about you?"
"Oh nothing much with me. Just getting a few things for the week and something nice for dinner tonight"
"Something special perhaps... for your boyfriend?" he said
You narrowed your eyes making contact with his something you were avoiding until now.
"How did you—" you began to say at first but you wanted to play it cool to give away too much about yourself you barely knew the man.
"Why do you assume it's another man? I am just here just shopping for myself if you must know." Being coy didn't work though. Just when you thought he would stop there, he saw right through your actions.
"Besides it's a Friday I wanted to treat myself"
"Just so you know, he and I are good friends. He wouldn't mind if we see each other more often. So don't be a stranger, okay?—" he stepped looking at you waiting for you to say something. And what could you say? You looked around to see if this was some sort of trick or something.
"What?"
"Anyway, I'll see you later, bye...Y/n." he said quietly. Shortly walking out of the store shortly, hands still in his pockets
Your heart raced with shock at the encounter.
Wait how does he even know that you were? Your mind was racing. You shook your head.
'There is no way he knows who Raian is'
Something wasn't right about this and it would be better if Raian didn't know especially what happened at the club. He may react harshly.
"Yeah, I guess," you replied, watching him walk out of the store from the windows.
You hurried to gather everything you needed from the cashier and returned to your apartment.
——————————
Upon arrival, you found Raian already passed out on the couch head pushed back asleep with the TV playing across his face.
You walked over to give him a quick kiss on his forehead. One of the only times you can. You turned off the TV and went into the kitchen, placing the groceries on the counter to start preparing dinner.
As you reached into the fridge and cabinets, you set all of the ingredients on the counter Raian slowly woke up, blinking as he rubbed his eyes and yawned loudly.
"When did you get back? I thought you would have been back sooner" he mumbled.
"Oh, I got caught up. I met a friend, and we chatted for a bit. Nothing too serious. Sorry for being late." you replied.
You wanted to ask him about Ohma, but you hesitated. He might know him, you kept thinking about telling but why can't you say anything!
"Hmm, a friend? One of the girls?" Raian asked,
"Yea!" suspicion creeping into his tone. And you knew lying would be risky. The man can act aloof but he is not dumb.
"Yeah... she was out shopping for her mother or something. Just a quick chit chat," you answered quickly.
He nodded slowly and hummed, but kept his eyes on you as you continued to cut some vegetables.
Your gaze landed on a bag of his favorite snack bars. You waved them casually.
"Hey, Rai," you called, holding up the snack bars. He usually would hold out his hand to toss them to you, but today, he didn't respond, just stared.
"Erm, okay, I'll leave them here—huh?"
Suddenly, he grabbed your wrist while you were setting the snacks down, he stared intensely. He grabbed one of the bars opened it and took a bite.
You looked up at him, sensing the tension thickening the air. Should you tell him? You wondered. Maybe it's a good time.
"Are you okay?" he asked, walking back into the living room The silence was heavy, just like the thick tension now filling the space.
"Uh yeah, why?"
Raian sensed something was wrong, but didn't push the issue.
He knows something's up and he knows that something is Ohma. He didn't tell you but he came to your door earlier. It was too complicated to explain at the moment.
While you were slicing fruit to make a sweet after
dessert you turned to speak and nearly jumped out of your skin when you saw Raian behind you.
Shit he moves so fast, you hadn't realized he had left his spot. Sometimes, you forget he's an assassin.
He knew what was happening. Just kept it to himself. Or maybe it was best to tell you later. He could tell you were lying. It was cute seeing you holding it all together
He's pinged with a message followed by a phone call. That brought him out of his thoughts.
He hesitated, then turned to leave, heading toward the door.
"I'm going out. I'll be back, and we'll talk later," he said firmly, slamming the door shut not intentionally, just the way it shut when he left. You stood there, speechless.
"Oh okay? No kiss goodbye or nothing?"
——————————
Before tonight,
Ohma and Raian completed their usual workout and training session. Ohma noticed that Raian's expression changed each time he glanced at his phone. He smiled that familiar, devilish grin, but this time it carried an unexpected sense of calm.
"What's got you grinning like that?" Ohma asked, a teasing edge to his voice. "You look like you're in love or something." He couldn't help but laugh at the idea of his friend being this intrigued by something other than fighting right now.
" What? What the fuck do you mean ...I'm in love? I - shut up.."
They began their usual sparring session, fists colliding both panting full of adrenaline coursing through their veins as they were on the edge of competition. This energy, no this connection was more than what coffee or any sort of caffeine could provide for the two men
"What about her?" Raian replied casually, throwing quick jabs that Ohma struggled to dodge. Raian wasn't the only one having something on his mind
"She's my girl now if you are wondering so much!" Despite the physical intensity of their sparring match, Raian seemed surprisingly relaxed, a hint of confidence edging from his demeanor.
Raian turned away, absorbed in his phone, fingers tapping away at the screen.
"Distracted again, I see," Ohma says with his hand on his hip glaring at the man as he shooes him away. Normally he would care less but one minute you weren't so important to him and now all of a sudden you're a serious topic for him.
It was a few nights ago, when Ohma was caught following you out of the bar. Things haven't been awkward Raian says he'd rather not talk about it and pushes it off.
And after confronting Ohma he made it clear multiple times to stay away from you. And that any other interaction they will have a problem. P
"Give me a minute, alright? Can't you see I'm busy here? You wanna cry for my attention too, huh?" Raian laughed to himself as he continued texting with an air of nonchalance.
Ohma felt a surge of frustration rise with the heat on his face. "Ditching me again I see, Raian." speaking under his breath.
He didn't care about the drama it would cause between the two of you. He was gonna find out what was so special about you. And he'll make it personal this time.
For the past few months, he'd bided his time and waited for the right moment while Raian was away on missions it was the perfect time to see what had gotten him so distracted.
Finally, while making his way to the bar one evening, he spotted you walking down the street. Mr.Yamashita, was by his side, pleading with him to stop trying to stalk you. He reassured the man that he was just people watching for someone.
That night felt different. He was going to sit somewhere and just watch you from afar. You suddenly making eye contact with him was not what he expected.
He grew courageous enough to say something to you.
It was a chance to talk to you, and Ohma was determined to seize this golden opportunity. His heart raced as he approached, ready to find out what made you so captivating in Raian's eyes.
And oh there was something special alright something that gave Ohma the idea of seeing what could come of this
What else could you give him that might make him even stronger than he is now? He wanted to know, and he felt an unexpected intensity building within him. That all fizzled away when realize Raian was right behind him.
Raian puts down the phone he looks to Ohma with a serious tone
" I'm leaving... We'll do this sometime tomorrow I'll hit you up"
Placing his hands in his pocket walking away
"So that's it. Guess I'll see another time then." Ohma says calmly
"Stop your whining we had our time.—" With a sick grin on Raian's face -" I just found something better to do." He winked and before leaving the gym the double glass doors shut behind him and he headed straight to you.
From behind Ohma watched as he left.
——————————
You continued to make dinner even if he wasn't there to eat you were still hungry.
Did you make a mistake? He did say that he was coming back and you know how he feels about you getting into anything that he's involved with so what you do nothing?
The only thing you thought about was calling your friend maybe she had some advice
"Hey girl, how are you?" Your friend perked she answered the phone right away
"I'm okay, just wanted to call" you say reluctantly
"Just wanting to call? really? Are you sure you don't sound so great" Oh she knows you so well
"Okay, you got me. Everyone's been reading me up and down all day."
"What does that mean?" you say her face when she said that
"Well today, I was kind of not what I expected you remember the event from what was it two weeks ago three weeks ago you know... the guy"
"Oh, the guy right so but you guys are official now, right?"
"No...not him the other guy"
"The other guy, wait, not him" You feel her eye roll
"Yes him , I saw him earlier when I was at the store. I lied and said that I met you at the store, but I didn't know what to say. He just showed up out of nowhere and then I had someone come to my door he answered and never told me who it was. Everything is all too strange." You paused and she hummed
"I didn't think much of it, but then when I came back, he was acting weird—" you continued
"That is kind of weird not gonna lie. I'm not gonna lie."
"Kinda? The guy literally told me he was good friends with my boyfriend I'm so annoyed right now "
"HA! Good friends? That doesn't sound like good friends."
"I know that's why I called you. When am I supposed to do?"
"Hmmm. Well, I don't know what you're gonna do, but I'm getting ready to go out when I come"
"Girl! I just told you I'm in the middle of a dilemma and you want me to go out?!"
"Yeah, why not? It'll take your mind off some things there's a new band playing by the way. Thought you should know."
"New band? Okay okay. I guess I'll go. He won't be home anytime soon. I'm sure."
"That's my girl anyways be ready in like 20!"
"All right see you soon"
————————-
And with that, you both were sitting in a booth. Just the two of you that night nothing much of a thought nothing that happened.
She always knows a way to cheer you up good for good food, music, and conversation. She's always had a way with words.
Yellow haze from the low lighting and the clinking of the drinks the occasional loud laughter of other people hanging around the atmosphere what a beautiful night. That's why you always find yourself coming back not like any bar.
"So I'm so glad I got you out. Tell me everything" your friend says
"I am telling you right I just know this is going to end so well." You threw your arms in defeat
"Seems like some boy drama, you know, how I feel about those things"
"Yeah, you and me both...all because I wanted some—"
"Ass?" Your friend interrupted laughing
"Stop! You know what I meant!" You joined her in laughter
"Seriously. I really like Raians and this other guy, Ohma. It's kind of crazy. He keeps showing up randomly which has been making me nervous now actually he tries to play it off as something coincidental or friendly but I know it's something more."
"He's not gonna come tonight I hope! If he knows what's good for him. No need to make things more complicated than what it needs to be." With her hand thrown back off her head
"So for right now Raian is preoccupied which means you should be preoccupied too and have some fun with me forget about them for a moment." she continued on
"Yeah, you're right. What would I do without you?"
"Yeah, what would you do?"
You both were laughing, enjoying your drinks.
The night went on. You didn't notice as much your friend decided to get up and go dance with somebody while you watched from a distance. It was just one of those nights you loved watching her have fun and she loved watching you have fun what could really go wrong?
Your bladder was saying something else though. You had to get up and go to the bathroom soon making your way to the restroom. You waited in line like everyone else.
You were next up in line. You sigh in relief. Knowing that you were next, you weren't as impatient as you were before him play on your phone casually. Just let's scrolling through social media until you heard it from a familiar voice behind you.
"I see we're both waiting for the restroom. How long are they gonna take?" the familiar voice
The hairs on your back stood up. And when you turned over to decide slowly you met with those uncaring eyes again.
"What are you doing here?!"
"What do you mean I'm just here enjoying tonight. What are you doing here, Im assuming the same?" He says
"Hanging out with a friend." Straight to the point, why is he here seriously?
"Hmmm didn't you tell Raian that earlier you know you bumped into a friend at the store? Why didn't you tell him about me? "
You sucked your teeth and roll your eyes the audacity of this man to really talk like this now maybe you wonder where the hell Raian was?
"I don't think he'd be too happy that you're out by yourself"
"No, he's perfectly fine with me coming outside. Maybe you should learn to mind your business. I don't think your friend would like it that you were talking to me. And like I said I'm out with a friend." Speaking through your teeth you're frustrated.
"I see why he likes you. You both act just alike get frustrated over little things."
"Excuse me?"
"You may be excused" he smiles
Ugh so full of yourself you say under your breath
"What was that? I didn't hear you. You seem so tense. You were happy earlier. Relax I just wanted to talk to you." He leaned closer to you
"But I don't wanna talk to you. you cost me enough trouble as enough for the both of us"
"Ouch. You know your boyfriend doesn't mind us being friends he wouldn't mind me talking to you right now" You couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or not this man was unreadable
His mouth pressed against your ear, pressing on and kissing you yet you didn't flinch it just sent shivers down your spine
Before you knew it, the person who was in front of you to go to the bathroom had already left when you turned back to Ohma it seemed like the line had already disappeared. It was just you and Ohma. Your face was to face with a man, your nose nearly touched his.
"I don't know what you're going on about?"
You didn't even give him a chance to have a word out. You turned to go to the bathroom, but before you could think of what would happen next, he already made a swift move inside.
When you turned to close the door he was in the bathroom with you.
You closed your eyes and sighed. He doesn't want to make this easy.
Sitting on the edge of the bathroom sink now, face to face with a man his hands on either side of your waist. The door was shut and locked with a swift move before you could ever notice any of this.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"What does it look like? I'm doing I'm in the bathroom... with you"
"That's not what I meant. I mean what are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doin'? I'm taking a closer look."
Staring face to face with the man, you're both silent for a moment until there is a sharp knock on the door.
"I need answers," you demand, voice tense.
"And I can provide what you want to know. But I think we are in crunch time," he replies, eyes fixed steadily on yours.
"How do you know Raian?" your gaze unwavering, probing.
"We're close friends, if that's what you would call it. We fought together and against each other a few times. Nothing much else to it. I thought we discussed it already." he looks up and scratches his head.
"Not in that way. If you knew him you would know that we're in a relationship." Shaking your head you used your hand to gently push him away but he grabbed your wrist when you looked back at him you saw your hand on his pecs. Quickly pulling your hand away. That made him step closer to you.
"Well, enough to know who you are, right? I don't see the problem" he responds, voice calm but guarded.
" Read the room Ohma!"
" Hm? Righhht we're in the restroom. Me and you—"
"Enough about me! Do you have a vendetta against him? Why are you—" before you can finish, he quickly places a finger over your mouth, enough to silence you.
"No, just curious... about you," he says softly.
"About me?" you echo, waiting as he looks you up and down thoughtfully before speaking. "Yes, he spoke so highly of you, wanted to get to know you, and I did too. Now here we are... again.”
As you both settle into the cramped bathroom, the muffled sounds of people knocking on the door echo through the small space, a line forming once more outside.
This was going to be difficult to leave out of there without causing a scene. A reminder of the world outside to the impatience waiting for you to emerge from this moment of introspection and all of this felt embarrassing.
But in this tiny, enclosed space, only the heavy tension between you and Ohma mattered. His heavy gaze and that fiery, conflicted expression from before hinted at a mystery you were drawn to. Oh, you could just melt under his gaze. Drowning in feelings you can't explain.
You knew you shouldn't, but you couldn't resist... He perched lightly on the edge of the sink, his hand moving gently across your arm, as if trying to etch every detail of your face into his memory.
His lips met yours in an uncertain, hesitant kiss. Though inexperienced, his technique wasn't so awkward, his lips rough and callus hands hold your face. His intentions were there the feeling was mutual. Nothing you couldn't work with, you thought.
You could feel the heat radiating from him. His nervousness mixed with desire.
His hand softly caressed your cheek, fingertips lingering over your lips just hanging lightly on your bottom lip. Leaning in for another kiss.
Ohma's fingers intertwined with yours, pulling you closer, though an undeniable awkwardness made the moment strangely endearing. You were thinking about Raian. The two men are quite similar in nature.
You both paused, catching your breath. The charged energy around you was palpable. Your face betrayed a flush of emotion, while Ohma's expression was clouded with uncertainty.
Forehead to Forehead his breathing still heavy and shaking "I'm sorry," he murmured, eyes cast downward, cheeks flushed with a tint of pink.
"I don't really know what to do next but I wasn't expecting this... I didn't expect to get this far, and I don't know if I can stop." His vulnerability caught you by surprise, and you offered a gentle, reassuring smile. "It's okay," you said softly. "But I think we went far enough." fixing yourself in the mirror.
“He can't know about this.”
"Don't worry about him. I can't handle that. I'll take the blame.” He paused, searching your eyes, then continued
He hesitated, placing his hand on your face, leaning in closer, seemingly more eager as he pressed his lips to yours. Both of you were lost in lust and wonder, hands exploring, fingertips leaving residual traces on each other's bodies. Heavy moments of desire pulsed as your fingers traced the fabric of his shirt. Suddenly, loud banging at the door shattered the intimacy.
"Hey, hurry up in there!" came the voice from outside.
"Right… I need to go home.” Rushing to collect yourself trying hurry out of the bathroom.
“huh? I'll walk you," he suggested casually, you ignored him on purpose that was a horrible idea on top of what just happened.
The knocking grew louder, and the line of frustrated people waiting outside was whispered about, murmuring complaints. You walked so fast but Ohma seemed unfazed. Quickly, he made his way to the door, peering through the crack, his expression unreadable.
As you were walking over to your friend at the booth.
Your friend's voice came through, annoyed. "I didn't think it'd take you this long to go pee—" she began, then stopped, eyes wide when she saw Ohma smiling unbothered, seemingly oblivious to the tension in the room.
"Girl, what the—" she whispered, pulling you aside. "Look look I know this looks bad but you have to distract him and I—"
"No," she replied firmly. You looked at your friend confused.
“Go talk to him. Maybe your boyfriend will show up and help with this. Besides, what could I say to a guy like him? I have a feeling something's going on between him and your boyfriend," she said with a wink.
"What do you mean?" you asked, looking at her. She shot a knowing look toward Ohma. His eyes widened
“Something wrong, Y/n?” , a flicker of surprise and intrigue crossed his face.
You both looked back at Ohma, who was staring off thoughtfully. Before you knew it, he gently took your hand and led you outside the bar
“Don't worry I'll bring her home safe.”
“Bye! Tell me how it goes," your friend called out as you left. Outside, he draped his arm over your shoulder, strolling down the street as if everything was perfectly normal but you sensed a watchful presence behind. So does Ohma, he doesn't care not one bit.
When you glanced back, no one was there, yet a nagging feeling of worry lingered. "Something on your mind?" he asked casually.
"Nothing, it's just—"
"Thinking about him? Don't worry. We're just friends, remember."
"But still, this feels wrong."
"We're just friends. Nothing's wrong, and he'd be upset if he knew I saw you and didn't take you home. I just want you home—that's all."
You made your way back to your apartment, climbing the stairs without realizing how long it was taking. The jiggling sound of your keys in your bag grew louder as you unlocked the door.
Inside, darkness greeted you. You remembered leaving the lights on in the kitchen, and in your bedroom, you have pretty pink sunset lights that you always leave on and everything was cloaked in shadows.
Something felt off…you paused, sensing that something was different. Then Ohma looked at you, concern flickering in his eyes. "Is everything okay?" he asked. Then soon had a serious look on his face as you both stepped inside you felt a hand pressed on your lower back pushing forward with some force. “OHMA what the Fu— Ohma?” you looked around he was gone or so you thought you got up quickly. It was dark but the street light from outside shone through the blinds painting two familiar silhouettes standing before you.
“Raian? Ohma?”

Chapter 5: Watching you
A/n: Sorry for the delay. This chapter is a bit eh but I hope you guys enjoy it anyways.
A sudden buzz has been heard in Ohma's pocket. He hasn't been able to check his phone notifications with your name on them without feeling guilty. At this time, he felt a pinch in his heart, but he decided to look. He knew he messed up by walking away and not giving you a chance to speak.
As if he hasn't been ignoring you all this time he knew it was wrong to ignore you for so long and making unnecessary excuses when he could have told you the truth about his past relationship in the beginning before you two got back together
When he could've been honest about his whereabouts after all, it was his idea of getting back together and now look at where you guys are in the current state of your relationship. Well, what's left of it?
"It's over. Don't bother coming back."
He felt a sense of peace, knowing that he could've been worse and you shouldn't know
He stops in his tracks in the world around him, seeming to be roaring, louder than normal ironically, it also began to rain. He stared at the message. I took a deep breath. There was nothing he could do at the moment, but he decided he wanted to make things right, so he would come back later and see if there was a way he could make amends.
Right now, he is thinking about the relationship between the two of you. He gets another notification on this phone and there's none of them.
"Can't wait to see you tonight. Don't be late.♥️"
And as crazy as look actually scratched that, it is crazy. He was still caught up in another relationship while he was in a relationship with you.
A small fling that wasn't supposed to last had been sticking to him like thorns now. But now that is all he has now since you would probably want nothing to do with him anymore.
It all started with his frustration about you working this stupid security job regardless to himself you don't need to work. He had figured that beating you and him getting back together meant he could end things with the other girl he was with but the more and more busy you got, the more and more he felt like he needed to be away from you for some reason. You should be relying on him. The stress of your job wasn't convincing you to stop you just kept going how many sleepless nights. But who is he to blame you? You were already starting your new life and he didn't need to come along.
Dare to admit he has every right to not feel this way. He gets plenty of attention from other women he makes tons of money from all of his matches and although true, they never fulfill him. He still wanted you by his side with all the distractions in the world and it seems as though he felt that you were pushing him away. No you were loving. He's just in the way, every time it seems like you're doing better in life.
He feels like you will need him less and less what would be the point of his presence? And what could he do about it? He's not one to force you to do anything. He shows all his feelings out of the way, all that anger pinned up inside him and he decides to play with fire he accepted that he was no more in your life. He gave a quick response shoved his phone in his pocket and made his way towards the next train station.
_____________________________________________
A day later, it was now the weekend, a time you looked forward to for spending more moments with yourself, finally getting rid of everything that reminded you of your ex-boyfriend for good this time. You were tending to your needs, just as usual, preparing for the upcoming work week and meal prepping when suddenly, you hear a knock on the door.
"Who is it?"
You immediately approach the door, checking the peephole first before opening it, but no one was there. You tell yourself to open the door and unlock it, only to find that there was no one outside, at least, no one within your line of sight.
"Hmph, strange..."
A sudden breeze swept through, surprisingly strong but nothing out of the ordinary, at least that's what you initially thought. As you close and lock the door , a wave of uneasiness washes over you. You ponder what you were doing before feeling that strange sensation, like someone was watching you, or like someone was standing right behind you. Perhaps it was just an almost absent presence, a missing person nearby. Either way, something felt off.
You shook your head “ Relax Y/n you're not at work” you tell yourself
A few moments later, before you could dwell on it further, your phone rings.
It was Cosmo. You wonder why he’s calling.
"Hey, Cosmo."
"Hey, how are you? I hope I’m not bothering you," he says, sounding a little guilty for the sudden call.
"No, no, you're fine. I'm good…just chillin at home. How's your weekend so far?"
"Great! ...Actually, I was wondering…are you busy?" he asks hesitantly.
"Well, I don’t have any plans. I mentioned I’d just be sitting around at home. What’s up?"
"Right! So, my friends and I are planning to go out tonight. I remembered you might want to go out more often, so I wanted to invite you. I wasn’t sure if you’d be up for it," he explains.
You pause for a moment. Here you are, comfortable at home, but you wonder if staying in is hindering your journey of self discovery. When was the last time you went to a party? It’s been ages, and it's not that you dislike having fun, it's just been a while. Now, you’re unsure how you'll react.
If you say no, you feel like you're missing out, if yes, you’ll have to step outside your comfort zone.
After a few minutes of careful consideration, you eventually say, "Sure, why not?"
"Really? You want to come out with us?!" he says, surprised.
"Yeah, why not? I’ve got nothing better to do this weekend. Where to?" you ask.
He describes a club that he and his friends visit often, mentioning that you and his other friend get in for free, and that the drinks for the ladies tonight.
"Ooo, sounds like a good night to me. I guess I'll see you soon. Send me the details," you reply.
"Sure thing. See you soon!" he agrees.
Nervous but excited, you start preparing. You realize you haven't gone out in a while, so you're unsure what to wear. You want to pick something cute, nothing too revealing but flattering enough to feel confident. You contemplate whether the club might be underwhelming or more lively than expected, all these thoughts make you a little anxious.
You couldn't lie to him about inviting you out to hang out with him and his friend, which made you feel a bit normal when life was starting to feel uneasy for you.
Cosmo and his friends arrive in the car about an hour later, waving and greeting you before you even reach it.
"Hey, you!!! Come on!" Cosmo calls, stepping out of the car.
He gives you a wave to come over. One of his friends pops out from the backseat to open the door.
"Hey there, the name's Litiho. Nice to meet ya. I’ve heard a lot about you from this guy," he says with a friendly grin, glancing at Cosmo.
Cosmo blushes slightly.
"Yeah,yeah... get in the car already," he mutters. You giggled at his reaction.
You squeeze inside the car, settling into the seat next to a beautiful woman with platinum hair named Sayaka. She smiles warmly at you, her eyes bright.
In the front passenger seat, Cosmo’s other friend, Saw Paing, is loudly joking and laughing…he’s quite animated, and everyone tells you that’s just how he is.
It grew on you
The drive to the club is filled with chatter and laughter. When you arrive, it’s in a quieter street more like a hidden gem than a busy nightlife hub. The club’s exterior is plain, almost unassuming small, unremarkable building. But as the doors open, the pulsating music and vibrant lights spill out, immediately immersing you in a different world.
The club was packed shoulder to shoulder with strangers dancing and moving to the bass. Your friends scan the room, searching for a place to sit.
You stood there, overwhelmed by the sight of everything and sounds. This was more intense than you expected. But the kind of intensity you needed. Exposure therapy in a way.
“Are you okay?" Sayaka asks softly in your ear, her voice barely audible over the music.
“Yeah, I just don't go out as much," you reply, trying to keep your composure.
She offers a reassuring smile. "It's okay….you’re here with us. We came together, and we’ll go home together.”
Relieved by her words, you turn with the others, pushing through the crowd. Cosmo waves his arms excitedly, jumping in place as if he’s just spotted a perfect spot.
“Finally!” Litiho exclaims with relief.
You all settle into a nearby booth, quickly making yourselves comfortable.
"Alright, now that we’re seated, we need one person to get all the orders for the drinks—so we don't lose our spot. Got it?" someone suggests.
“Right!” everyone agrees.
"I'll do it!" Saw Pings loudly volunteers.
"Okay, what does everyone want to drink?" He ask, realizing you’re not sure what to order, so you just say, "I'll have whatever Sayaka’s having. Plus, the drinks should be free for us."
He returns with the receipt bawling it into his pocket, and as you all wait for the waitress, conversation flows naturally. You’ve just told them about ending your relationship earlier that day. Everyone encourages you to go all out and have fun.
"You didn't need him anyway! He's lost anyways!" Lithio slurs drunkenly. Grabbing your shoulder “it a good thing you came to tag along and if you need a shoulder to cry on you got me!”
“Hehe I’ll um … think about it” you smiled
A song starts playing, and you find yourself singing along. The music, combined with a few drinks, helps your anxiety meltd away.
Sayaka asks if you want to dance, and you agree. Soon, everyone disperses onto the dance floor. Litiho and Saw Paing have a lively dance battle building a small crowd around them, Cosmo cheers them on, and Sayaka twirls rhythmically to the beat.
“Come on, girl! Show me what you’ve got! Whoa!" she encouraged
You girls were having a blast until an uneasy feeling makes you pause.
"You sure you are okay?" Sayaka asks softly, noticing your hesitation.
Suddenly, a hand grabs your arm.
"Hey, want a drink?" a stranger asks. Turning to face the man.
“No, I'm okay. I think I'm a little drunk," you reply.
“Don't be a party pooper. You’re not shy—” looking you up and down “you'll be fine," he urges, tightening his grip.
You felt a graze against your ear.
"Hey! Let her go!” Sayaka shouts.
The atmosphere in the dark, dim-lit club is wild and carefree. The flashing lights dance around you, momentarily obscuring your vision. You catch a glimpse of the someone behind the man grabbing you…and he looks familiar. His white hair, muscular build, white shirt, and black pants then the strobe hits his face. Could it be… Raian?
No
No, couldn't be! How is he here!
Faint shadows flicker, blurring your perception. Everything happens so quickly.
“What the hell?” the man mutters, turning to see who’s behind him.
You recognize Raian whispering something into his ear, locking eyes with you. In that instant, you freeze.
It was like no one else was seeing him but you!
Whatever he heard, the man looked at you with fear and ran. pushing through the crowd to get to the exit. Hearing people complain and groan on his way out. You scan the room, but no one else looks out of place. Maybe it was your drunken imagination, or maybe your eyes deceived you.
“How are you?” Cosmo asks gently.
“I'm fine," you reassure him and the others.
“Yeah, I think we should call it quits," Litiho says reluctantly.
Everyone agrees and starts heading out. That night was fun, until it wasn’t. Now, as you walk down the street, you get the feeling someone’s watching you. Cosmo turns your way checking to see if you were okay, behind you, the street is quiet, no one follows. Still, you take a deep breath, trying to calm your racing heart, your mind is racing again.
Getting into the car, you feel drowsy and quickly fall asleep on the ride home. You keep hearing a voice in your head.
"I'm always watching you, no matter what."
You hope you had a fun night. It was nice seeing you.
You didn't realize you liked dressing up like this.
Raian’s voice taunts you, disruptive even in your sleep.
"Hey," he whispers, still taunting.
"Heyyy… he he he," you giggle softly.
“Hey!” Cosmo nudges and shakes you gently to wake you.
"Aahh!" you yelp, startled awake. It’s just Cosmo, having dropped off his friends and noticing you’re still sleeping. He didn't want to wake you.
“Do you think you can make it upstairs?” he asks.
“I could use some help, if you need it, to get to your door," he offers, as you nod and step out of the car.
You stumble inside, fumbling with your keys, trying to unlock your door. You’re exhausted but grateful for his help.
You thank him for bringing you out and taking you home. When you finally reach your bedroom, you’re too tired to do anything but stumble inside, your mind swirling with everything that happened.
Laying back in your bed, you thought about something you felt back the club. He was antagonizing this whole time making you feel so uncomfortable with yourself. And now he you were alone, maybe it was just you had hidden feelings about something you didn't want to admit. Denying the thought immediately,it wasn't like he was not attractive to you that why he was doing this. That could also be the reason why you are even still alive.
What does he see in you?
What kind of satisfaction was he getting from this? Or is there something deeper?
You went from fearing him to now wanting to understand him. And wanting clarity most of all.
While you were contemplating and drifting your eyelids grew heavy, lying on your bedsheets facing the ceiling, you heard a whisper all too familiar
"I'll never let you go"
Set up slightly frightened, putting trade you in deep thought now that you were all by yourself and all along maybe Cosmo was right maybe being alone like this isn't good for you. You start hearing things and seeing things.
“ No you're not hearing things… I'm here.”
“I'm just waiting.”
There is again what should you do. He's capable of doing many things and probably one of the many things you and your coworkers don't have any idea about. Scary to think that just the facility isn't enough to hold him like everyone thinks it is what if he could just massacre everyone there and send himself free he seems more than capable of doing that. And maybe he exactly coming to kill you after all!
“I need to get out of here!”
“Enough of that!”
There he goes again, Should you try to invoke him? He could kill you...but he would've done so a long time ago. He's always said that you were so fun to him fun, provoking you for fun. frustration and angry were few of the emotions that he likes seeing you display.
“Haven't I made myself obvious! I can be where ever when ever I want in the form”
You were scared of what would happen next.
“I will only come out if you let me”
Standing up from your bed your heart was racing. You have officially lost it. No ountbof alcohol canake this stuff up
“Would you let them in would you?”
Something prompt your to looking the corner of you dimly lit room. There in the corner was a a growing shadow figure the same as the one you saw tonight. You recognized that silhouette anywhere. It was him peering at you with the scercla eyes that glowed in the dark.
Squatting down looking at you. As if he was anticipating something.
“ Lets play a game”
I will be updating sometime between tonight and tomorrow. Keep a lookout and thank you for reading 🥹 I'm seeing the likessss I appreciate you guys🫶🏽

Chapter 4: Attention
Sleepless nights and restlessness in your dreamscape have been characterized by your evenings after work.
Every worst scenario that could occur at work has happened in your dream. And although you were always left unscaved you were traumatized. Showing up to work not shaken but hypervigilant, making it so hard to relax.
The soft glow of streetlights filters through your window, casting shadows that dance across your bedroom walls as cars drive by. You were up from another nightmare. You figured out why night get your nightly routine started before heading to work.
At least your job was becoming less of a chore, and Raian seemed to be on his best behavior lately, often quiet but strangely attentive. It was odd, if you're being honest, you weren't complaining though.
But you know who's been acting super strange lately? Ohma.
You have yet to confront Ohma about his odd behavior, and it's killing you, to say the least. His recent silence, long pauses during calls, and the way he avoids eye contact whenever you ask about his whereabouts all fuel your suspicion. And with all that tension you kind of don't want to.
It's typically not your style, but you decided to keep your cool until you knew for sure something was up.
And when it happens
It's been two weeks since you last saw him, and during that time, you barely received any text messages or calls from him. Usually, he would send a quick update or a goofy meme he thought you would think was funny but didn't understand, and now the messages were infrequent. That wasn't normal for him.
He wasn't the type to keep a close eye on his phone, often distracted by his training or his own thoughts. Even with that he was still informed about the little things.
And the whole situation makes you feel uneasy. Sometimes you want to tell him it's not working out, to rip the bandaid off already.
Just as you think that, a ping from a notification hits your phone; an update from him, perhaps about how his training was going, or a casual remark about what he's doing. It calms you down a bit.
Just for a bit.
He's always attentive, nonetheless, and you never thought he would do anything to harm you.
He was adamant about staying the night whenever you came home, curling around you like a shield against the world. Now, that comfort is fading, and nights grow colder and lonelier. Where has he been all this time? It's not like he's back home. Mr. Yamashita, his coach hasn't seen him either. Saying he's always in a rush to see someone. He'd figured it would be you and was shocked when you expressed that he was distant.
You hate to admit it, but you're becoming more and more lonely without him.
You feel like taking a few steps back, losing the progress you made in regaining your independence from the last time it came to this felt a waste of time now.
Strangely enough, you've been seeing your coworkers more often during your shifts, that's a small bright spot, at least. It's nice not to be alone among all these anomalies and the occasional crazed maniac, even if he isn't always there, and most times you're alone.
"Damn, I really need to make some friends and go out more," you murmur to yourself.
"Yeah, it's not good to isolate yourself all the time. You could start seeing things," Cosmo says lightly, offering a friendly smile.
But you already feel that you're seeing things. Lately, you've had a few strange dreams about him. Not scary just strange. On the security cams, he's been acting normally, or at least his behavior doesn't seem out of the ordinary.
"Speaking of which," Cosmo suggests, "the training that was postponed due to certain events has been rescheduled and has finally opened up for next week. Maybe you can meet some more people there! We're hoping to celebrate afterward."
"That sounds nice," you reply, interested but exhausted. For some reason, the energy to go out feels like too much today.
"Are you sure? You don't have to come if you don't want to. I know there will be a bunch of guys, but a few other women are coming too." he says nervously, rubbing the back of his head. He didn't want you to feel awkward around a bunch of guys.
"Don't worry, Cosmo. I'll come. You're right—I need to expose myself to more people," you affirm.
He jumps up raising his fist " ALRIGHT!" turn down the rest of his bottle of water crushing it in his hands. He seemed more excited than you were. You chuckle to yourself.
"That's the spirit! —Ah, excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back." He announces before heading out. With all that excitement he spilled water everywhere. As soon as the doors shut, you hear a faint laughter over the cam intercom, likely from one of the security cameras.
There, on the monitor, you see Raian lying in his bed, hands behind his head, legs crossed at the knee, mumbling softly beneath his breath; loud enough for you to catch a few words.
"Tsk, of course you wouldn't want to go to something like that. Why would you?"
What's his problem? Was he listening in on your conversation?
"You don't need all those people. Sometimes it's nice being alone. After all, you have me, right, buddy?"
He turns his head toward the camera, eyes narrowing as if he knows you're watching...even if he can't see you. He rises from his bed, walking closer to the camera with his hands in his pockets, tilting his head.
"Come on, you really think you want to hang out with a bunch of dudes? All those people sound annoying, just like that mushroom head. How about we have a little fun of our own, huh?" mocking your desire for socializing, emphasizing that he is the only "fun" you neeed something more amusing than those weaklings.
"I think the fuck not," you murmur, pressing your hands firmly around the microphone, your irritation boiling over.
You don't know how, but he's listening. It's like he can traverse the walls and the very essence of your mind, every waking moment, you see him in your dreams or when your eyes close. Sometimes, you swear you hear whispers while you're away from work.
You never told anyone because you feared jeopardizing your job or drawing attention to his tendencies this feels different now too close. Like he's personally attacking you.
While going about your day, perhaps relying on your extra security, or simply because you spend too much time alone. Too much time for him to get into your head. You realize you can't let him win.
"Since you want to listen to my conversations so much," you retort through clenched teeth, "I'll tell you now—I'm going, and that's final....I'll be training for a week and won't have to deal with an imbecile like you!"
"Ooooh? Me? an imbecile? HAHAHA GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!" He says mockingly
Raian's laughter only grows louder, a twisted amusement that feeds his sadistic fascination with your anger. He finds your frustration entertaining, and it only infuriates you more.
"What's so funny? You're always laughing at something! You're not so tough.” You clinched your fist “ One day…. One day I'll face you and we'll see who's laughing then" you declare, voice filled with venom. Deep down, part of you wants to run, but your anger keeps you standing.
That bold threat seems to have no effect. His smile fades into seriousness, eyes gleaming.
"Who are you fucking talking to —BRAT?! Do you think you can take me on? Try me!"
Boiling with rage, you realize how little you know about who you're really confronting—the man capable of destroying your security, of acting unpredictably. His last outburst was unlike his typical calm facade. People speak of him as a legend or a monster...not just theatrics.
“That day will come soon don't you worry… YOU’LL GET WHAT YOURE ASKING FOR!”
"Do your worst. I'm not scared. I know you try to reach me in my dreams like some sick creep! You think you can just taunt me, scare me? I'm not afraid of you. Not anymore," you hiss.
"Pfft, I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe your coworker was right! You do need to talk to somebody. You've definitely been seeing things," he shoots back sarcastically, almost like he's hiding something.
Just as you finish yelling, Cosmo enters, concern etched on his face.
"Hey, are you all right? I heard you yelling. I'm down the hall. Everything okay?" he rushed over to you.
"No, it's just him. He's taunting me again!" you snap, your voice trembling.
"You mean him. He looks like he's sleeping to me," Cosmo adds humorously, staring at the monitor.
And suddenly, Raian appears to be sleeping...lying back on his bed, turned away from the camera, looking restful, which makes you question your own perceptions.
"Hey, we've got an hour left. Why don't we call it a night? I'll grab some water. Do you need anything?" Cosmo offers.
"Yeah, some water would be good. Thanks, and sorry," you reply, voice tinged sitting back down at your desk with fatigue coming over you.
"Don't worry. That's why I'm here. Be right back." He departs, and almost immediately, that same sinister laugh echoes over the intercom, the mocking snicker. Raian's silhouette remains on the monitor, body moving in rhythm with his hysterical laughter.
"You can't outsmart me. I'll always find a way to get to you," his voice hisses from the speakers.
And you stand there, helpless, watching him enjoy his cruel game. This was his favorite part of his day to see you. The only thing is he hated being so far from you. Your banter is all Raian looked forward to.
He missed the jungle-esque of the abandoned Kure Village the island that had been long forgot but when remember people fear to go there. His family had long reigned over that island and was reported to be the strongest clan.
With years of selective breeding, creating the monsters some may have called and Raian was one of them. The devil himself.
The island became abandoned after a deal between the Kure Clan and the Godhead Foundation. They made a pact to help the Kure clan grow stronger in exchange for their alliance in helping them with a connection to the underground to gain some information. One day the experimentation went wrong causing chaos on the island the foundation lied about major details about the testing. They wanted the connection and to get rid of the Kure clan.
The plan was almost successful until Raian showed up ge had a bad feeling about all of this and killed the CEO and other affiliates with a second thought but it was already too late.
Word got out about the mission successful in came the agents to do the clean up but they were met with Raian. The experiment they did on him only made him stronger inhumanely strong. It was a long standoff for days but they managed to subdue him.
Here he lay just like always. The same routine gr got bad the foundation by killing every security member that took on the job to watch him. Then came you. Now he knows that he can see you holding your own against him. Not backing down he doesn't want this anymore he watch you watch him he wanted more of you now he wants you in the flesh more than ever.
"YOU!"
Security door rings, and the sound of the door, the metal door, opening boots, and keys clinging down the long, empty halls echoes of doors, opening and slamming sounds of speakers and intercom, silent roars and screams from the anomalies across rooms down below the surface were your usual routine and sounds of your night shift. Winter nights are coming to an end spring is coming soon around the corner and the nights are getting shorter again. Which means daylight will be meeting you once you leave the facility by the end of your shift something that you look forward to at least you're not walking back and forth in the dark to the bus stop and your ride home should be smooth
All the more though you were embarrassed by your behavior at work this past shift cause you're sure that Raian finds it funny that he got you out of character, especially in front of your coworker
And although he doesn't judge you, you are still concerned about the integrity of your job. You were told that this part of the job was not easy and that you have to build your willpower as your boss will say. Stay true to your training and you will never fail
__________________________________
Although it might sound inspiring, to be in a facility housing creatures and anomalies, Raian seems to embody a creature's worst nightmare. arguably the most terrifying of all. Every day, the other anomalies appear almost angelic in comparison. If news about him reaches you at work, it's often grim: scientists dying trying to sedate him, countless failed attempts to feed him, and his presence always looming at the facility. With all this chaos surrounding the upcoming training board, you can't help but wonder if it'll make any difference, especially knowing he might try to escape again.
After all, you've been the longest-serving employee in this section. Every worker assigned to watch him has lasted less than a week, yet somehow, he hasn't attempted to escape under your watch. Maybe that means something that maybe they will keep you on the job after all.
The stress is eating away at your mental and physical health, yet you haven't even had a moment to think about Ohma.
As you stepped off the bus, keys jangling nervously in your hand, you hurried across the street toward your apartment. Just as you fumbled to open the door, you froze. Ohma was sitting on your couch, waiting. The house was dark, only the flickering glow of the TV illuminating his figure. Startled one you flicker the lights on. His eyes widened briefly before he responded.
"You're here a little late. Did something happen?"sound surprisingly concerned for you
"No, just grabbing something to eat with a coworker before heading home," you replied, trying to sound casual.
He hesitated, then asked, "Is this the coworker you were closing with? That...guy?" The question caught you off guard, but exhaustion outweighed your frustration.
"Yes, him but I met others too. He was just introducing me. We ordered pizza and sat in the cafeteria for a while before leaving."
He responded with a low hum. As he got up, you thought he would pull you in for a brief hug but stopped "Glad you're safe. See you later," he said simply. No kiss, no hug...just leaving that way. He was not overly affectionate but this felt different...detached, almost cold, unlike how he usually acted toward you.
"Wait, where are you going? You're just going to wait here for me and then leave?" Your voice trembled with sadness at his nonchalant attitude.
You heard him suck air in his teeth and then turn back, frustration etched on his face. an expression you'd never seen before. Was he already annoyed with being here? If so, he could've just left. There was no need to wait.
He'd been ignoring your calls and texts.
"You've already eaten with your friends. Why should I be here? It seems like you have more important things to do," he said coldly.
You reached for his arm, desperate to stop him, but he had already slammed the door behind him. You stood there in silence, eyes fixed on the street as he walked away, hands in his pockets, refusing to look back. Your heart felt like it was breaking. Maybe it was time to face the truth, you couldn't keep pretending. This wasn't working.
Almost frantic, you tried to calm yourself before reacting. This stress was becoming unbearable. Then you pulled out your phone. You looked down and saw a simple message and pressed send.
"It's over. Don't bother coming back.”

You're My Flavor
inspired by Lenny Kravitz- You’re my Flavor
It's been a year now since you entered this complicated, noncommittal relationship, and man, does time fly by when life gets chaotic. But lately, everything felt stable until his first mission of the year came along. You were used to Raian's missions from before, he would usually pop in and out when he had some downtime, so it never felt like a big deal. But this time was different. He had warned you about it: this mission would be a pain in the ass, taking up most of my time and there would be a whole month with no contact. He had emphasized how dangerous it was, and you understood. Even if it stung a little. He wasn't abandoning you it was just for your safety.
The first two weeks were anything but eventful but that was because it was crunch time at your office job which meant you were constantly stuck in meetings and preparing slideshows for each meeting with other companies needless to say you spent most of your time, coming home late, kicking off your heels and plopping straight into bed and waking up to do the same routine
When a month one month mark hits, you're finally excited. You know you couldn't contact them even though it's already been a month. He already told you that he won't reach out to you first to let you know that the coast is clear you have been keeping up with your daily routines of maintenance beauty maintenance waiting for the one night that he will call but I never came. It went on like this for days, then weeks you couldn't help for worry that something had happened. It's Raian. He did tell you that if anything did happen to him. One of his family members would reach out to you personally but still, it's already been a month and a half, and no word from him.
Yet here you are, approaching the three month mark, and still no word from him. The silence stretches on, heavy and the worry begins to gnaw at you. What's happening out there? You're left in a limbo of longing and concern, wondering if he's safe or if this is the moment everything changes. Maybe he realized I was too much of a distraction and needed a break. You would respectfully request that he communicate that to you! Even if that was the case he wouldn't leave you hanging like that right?
After all, you were technically his first ever. If you recall the night that he got drunk and you both had an argument, you were sure that things would've been done for the two of you when they opened up about something that was near his heart and threatened you to not tell anyone right after the next morning, even worrying that you thought he had soft on you. Smiling at that notion but it quickly fades as you know the Kure family is a very patriarchal family system and has standards that you told yourself you did not meet. As to why this will remain nothing more. And you didn't want another serious relationship for a while or so you thought.
A bit crushed your mind and wondered what he really felt about him. What's this all fun game for him like you were some toy? What's this year real?
"I need to go out." You huffed as you checked yourself in the vanity mirror, frustration in your eyes. You haven't ventured out on your own since meeting Raian, and you kind of miss your nightly rendezvous all by yourself or some of your girlfriends. He insists it's the only way to keep you safe at night. There were times you wanted to sneak out, but you were mad with him right at the door " And where the hell are you going?" with his arms crossed waiting for a direct answer from you.
tonight, you're feeling clingy and lonely, and you refuse to let that hold you back though. It's time to revisit the bar you used to frequent before you met him.
With your essentials packed in your purse a silk dress and simple heels, you stride out the door, ready for a night of fun. The thought of it feels like a betrayal, but you remind yourself that you both are free to live your lives as you see fit. You're not in a relationship, you owe it to yourself to enjoy the night.
————————————————————————
As you walk through the front door with a gasp of smoke and red and yellow low lighting staggers over booths on every corner people standing and chatting with the sounds of drinking clinking and the familiar bustling noise of your favorite jazz band playing on the small stage as beautiful people dance sensually to the melody. You wonder if this will ever get old.
Like clockwork, your daze was cut by the bartender who waved his hands fanning you to come over "Hey! Long time no see!"
"Hey, how's it going Sam? " you responded
"Business as usual. You alone tonight? Whatever happened to your little boy toy?" A sting in your heart reminds you again why you forced yourself to get out.
" Oh, he's busy with whatever he's got going on. So, I'm here to do my own thing," you exclaimed
" Well, the night is just getting started. The usual?" he says with a wink
"Yes sir," you replied with a confident wink at the bartender. Your gaze was suddenly drawn to a man who had been watching you since you walked in. He had moppy black hair that caught the warm glow of the yellow lighting, and his tanned skin accentuated his buff, athletic build. Damn, he's fine.
You wanted to look away quickly But it was his piercing eyes, filled with an indifference, that really caught your attention. Like he was daring you to look away. He had a big plate I think in front of him, and I did not look at you. He was focused and determined.
Just your type.
Should you strike up a conversation? Nah. That would be awkward.
Instead, you winked at him and turned back to the bartender. After all, he seemed preoccupied with an old, nervous looking man, scrawny and fidgeting, trying to get his attention while clearly stealing glances your way.
Fuck, those eyes of his were piercing through your soul, you can almost feel his gaze burning in the back of your head
And yet still you couldn't help but think about him. You wondered if Raian was okay. He should be fine you kept that hopeful thought in mind that maybe his mission was a handful and that's why he hasn't communicated with you. Maybe it was longer than he expected.
" One more drink and I'm going home." you said to yourself. Who are you fooling coming out on a night like this you are so busy accusing Raian of not being communicative but you know the truth.
A few drinks more and now you are tipsy and the staring contest between you and the black haired man continued but to no avail. You figured you'd go freshen up and use the restroom, sober up, and head home. Going out was a hasty decision to try and get over Raian but who are you fooling? Looking desperate for attention already because you feel scorned.
As you dried your hands on a paper towel while exiting the restroom, your mind wandered, and you weren't paying attention to where you were going. Suddenly, you collided with something solid... a broad frame that sent you bouncing back slightly. Before you could fully register what happened, a pair of strong arms caught you, preventing you from falling.
"You should really watch where you're going," he said, a smug grin spreading across his face. "You're lucky I caught you, or that would've been embarrassing." It was the man you had been stealing glances at just moments ago, and the heat from your cheeks intensified.
Aw hell not this guy again
He held you effortlessly with one arm wrapped around you, and you suddenly became acutely aware of your hands resting on his impressive chest.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!" you said, your voice slightly flustered, a laugh escaping your lips as you tried to defuse the awkwardness. "I guess I must have had a little too much to drink. I should really get going..."
As you attempted to turn on your heels to leave, he relaxed his grip, allowing you to step away. "Have a great night—"
Before you could finish your sentence, he swiftly spun you around in a playful, almost balletic motion, and you found your back against the wall. The dark haired man closed the distance between you, his eyes locked onto yours a mix of interest and anticipation swirling within their depths. Your cheeks burned, wide eyed in embarrassment at the sudden closeness. You turn your head away from him but he only follow trying to catch your gaze like he was searching for something.
"Can I at least have your name?" he asked, his voice lower and laced with intrigue. "I'm Ohma. Ohma Tokita."
"Y/n," you managed to reply, your heart racing as he held your gaze.
A smirk played on his face, as if he could sense your nervousness. "Well, now that we're talking, why don't we sit down and get to know each other a little better, hm?" The rush of guilt weighed heavily on your chest, feeling almost overwhelming.
"I'm sorry, I just have a lot on my mind, and I'm a little drunk right now. I think I should head home," you murmured.
He studied her face for a moment, then nodded slightly. "Yeah, I think that's for the best then. Maybe we'll meet again another time." His expression was unreadable.
You offered a reassuring smile and made your way out of the bar. The cool breeze greeted you as your hair danced in the wind. You wrapped yourself in your sweater and started strolling down the street, grateful your apartment wasn't far.
A few pedestrians strolled by, so the street wasn't empty. You slipped on your headphones, pressed play, and lost yourself in the music unaware that Ohma had decided to follow out the bar behind you. Keeping a cautious distance, just enough not to be noticed.
He wasn't stalking, he told himself just making sure you got home safely. As you crossed the street, he paused to watch you, feeling the presence behind him before he could turn. Suddenly, a hand was placed on his shoulder, making him spin around.
To his surprise, it was a friend. None other than..
"Raian?" he exclaimed, eyes wide. Wondering what he was doing here, especially since he was told his mission would keep him away for another month.
"What are you doing?" Raian asked, voice rumbling deep. He was definitely pissed.
Ohma looked down, the pressure on his shoulder intensifying as he met Raian's gaze.
Anger simmered in his chest. "What. are. you. doing?" he repeated, more forcefully. Raian's stare grew sharper, but Ohma remained unfazed.
"Just making sure she's safe. That's all," Ohma reassured him.
"That's all...hm," Raian echoed, though it wasn't enough for him.
"Yeah, but since you're here, I guess you can go back to doing whatever you're doing. Sorry for the trouble," Ohma said nonchalantly, arms crossed behind his head, turning to walk off. Raian watched as Ohma hesitated, then pushed through the bar's door. But he wasn't finished.
"Don't play coy with me. I'm not—" Raian's words trailed off. Stopping his tracks he looked at the man one last time " I said it was nothing, you wanna fight about it I can't maybe some other time."
Suddenly, Kazuo burst through the doors, eyes blazing. "Ohma?! Where the hell were you? I was looking everywhere! What are you doing outside?"
"I'm fine. Just heading inside. I'm hungry again; I'll order a steak," Ohma said, walking away. He waved at Raian, who only ignored him.
Raian stayed rooted, watching him go, then slowly made his way to your building. Speed walking, his frustration boiled over as he observed the scene between you and his friend. He wanted to know what had transpired and what had been said. Did you pursue him, or did he pursue you? He trusted you, knew you wouldn't do anything reckless, but Raian's concern for your interactions with his friend gnawed at him. Why the sudden interest in you?
He hesitated, knowing questions now might push you away. And he didn't want a fight he hadn't seen you in months didn't even get to spend New Year's with you. So he decided to wait for the right moment.
As you fumbled for your keys outside your apartment, feeling a familiar presence behind you, worry crept in. It was the same feeling he'd had at the bar.
"Hello?" you called out, voice tinged with concern, not turning around.
"Is that all I get for being gone so long?" Raian's breath brushed your ear.
"I hope you miss me as much as I miss you. I have so much to talk to you about cuz I'm starving." he teased.
Suddenly, you spun around and instinctively threw yourself into his arms. Keys slipped from your hand as he caught them with ease, pulling you into a passionate kiss, legs around his waist, arms around his neck. With care, he opened your door and carried you inside, still fused in a kiss.
"You miss me that much, huh?" he murmured between kisses. "What did I tell you about going out late without me? What if someone else had been behind you? How did you even know it was me?"
His tone darkened, serious. "I always know it's you, but it was too perfect that you didn't see me here. You know I wouldn't ignore my own safety."
"Besides," you began, voice trembling, "I just... I need you."
He smirked, brushing your words aside. "That's cute, but not enough to save your sorry ass. Who's going to protect you from doing stupid stuff like this? Don't start arguing." He sank onto the couch beside you.
You rolled your eyes but appreciated his concern, even if it annoyed you. You were lonely, craving his presence.
"Raian, I have needs. After getting used to you being here that nearby, sleeping next to me, I feel safe, waking up to you, knowing you're close."
Your words cut off, embarrassingly, as you hesitated. Looking the other way finding a way to change the subject. It wasn't official, but you felt compelled to tell him.
"That's why I wanted to talk to you about us."
"What about us?" You asked, curious. Was he thinking about you too?
You secretly hoped he hadn't noticed what happened with Ohma. Considering Raian's sneaky nature, you feared he might have followed you home. But maybe he just watched you leave the bar. Still, hope lingered.
"I want to talk about what this is," Raian admitted. Getting up he shook his head. He was really upset to see you with his friend. He didn't know what other way to say it.
His face suddenly turned serious. looking directly at you.
"Oh, I knew it! You're going to end things being too tough on you..... I get it you have priorities and meeting your family's expectations." You say in full panic mode that you didn't think it would end like this.
"You think I won't handle it? I make my own rules. Anyone else eyeing you? I'd rip their heads off and bring them to you as a trophy," he growled with a twisted grin. Walking up to you.
"Sure, ...whatever you say, baby.. Hehe," you nodded, hands patting his broad shoulders.
Raian's straightforward nature was familiar, but this new look in his eyes unsettled you. He seemed upset, maybe even hurt. You didn't want to press him, so you stayed silent, only agreeing to all his rambling about him dominating and making things right.
"So, we're official now. No one else but me you got that!" he declared.
Picking you up swiftly beforehand and gently guiding you towards your bedroom, he captures your lips passionately, his desire evident after all he had been gone for more than 3 months. He's been longing to be with you for so long that he can't wait to taste you. He may not say all that out loud he would rather just show you.

Chapter 3: Out of Reach
2.705wrds
Crashing into bed with not a second thought about taking off your uniform. You were exhausted, honestly, too tired to think about work. Yet, with Ohma in your arms again, this time it was the protection you needed to help you rest because, honestly, you didn't have the bravery to sleep alone tonight.
You told Ohma what happened tonight. He wanted you to call it quits, but it's about making the money you've ever made. He didn't have a steady income; he only earned after every fight, and it wasn't enough to support both of you. You loved your freedom.
Not in the mood to think or talk any further, you both lay down to rest and planned to pick up in the morning.
By this time, you had laid your head on the pillow and were already fast asleep.
————————————————————————
Your skin tickled against the sheer gust of wind blown past you
Surrounded by the dark forest, the sky lit with a violet glow, a gradient of scarlet. Very few stars and...eyes. Eyes that peered everywhere, staring; it was only when you heard footsteps coming forward that you began to run.
Everything is disoriented and scattered. You left so fast, making it to the other side, but you seemed to move slowly enough that every moment felt almost futile. You ran until you had reached the edge of what had looked like a cliff up ahead. Turning around to see and meet your fate, only to see him standing a couple of feet away from you.
"All this running away only makes me want you more...why run when we both know what you really want."
The words almost felt different as they came out: "I don't know what you are talking about!"
Taking a step back, Raian walks towards you; even at this distance, his height towers over you.
How powerless you felt, knowing you were close to the edge, turning your head slightly to see waves of water, wanting to put an end to this hellscape of a dream, you had one idea in mind. Jump.
"Don't do it!"
You don't care. With one swift move, you turn to feel a strong arm wrap around you as you jump from the edge.
It all felt like a rush one moment, until you thought sand between your toes. Then, realizing you were pushing him off, he laughed at your quick reaction. He found it amusing.
"Get off me! Why did you do that?!"
"I'm just trying to help," in a teasing tone, he swugs as if it was all for nothing
" I don't need your help— I need you to get away from me."
The meaning smile that always crept on his face turned flat, unreadable. The moon up above glared sheer on your skin
"If only you knew-"
He says as he suck in his cheek, " Tch, what is it you don't understand?!" he spoke calmly. Still, he eyes told a different story of his frustration with you foreign from his usually demeanor and being alone with him he can be this vulnerable only if you can accept properly otherwise... things will get drastic who knows what he will do if you reject in this way.
"You just don't get it, do you. I did this all for you."
"What? Invade my dream...chasing me down?! "
"Yes," he started looking like he was in a trance, like he was salivating with those hungry eyes
"Look... just let me go, don't hurt me, and I won't say anything. I don't know what you want, but -"
"What is he to you? Why do you need him to protect so much?! Hmph
"He who— you mean my boyfriend."
" Oh, is he now?"
Stepping closer this time, you never moved from your spot, you remained still as he approached you face-to face with the man himself. He wasn't paying any attention to your pleas.
" I can change that."
You scoffed at his audacity. " What for? I'm nothing special. Just stop this," he cut you off, raising his hand signaling you to stop talking
" I already got what I wanted," he says, his lips just centimeters from your ears
And why aren't you flinching at this? Why are you entertaining this? But you can't move.
Resting both hands on your shoulder, he switches you around with a smooth quickness," see that."
Looking at the moon. That's precisely what I think of you so warm so sweet... Inviting"Eye fixed on your side profile.
His hands slowly graze down your arms, and you weren't paying any attention, only being entranced by the moon, too slowly wrapping his arms around you. You subconsciously tilt your neck, his warm breath fanning your neck as he lands a gentle kiss, sending a shockwave up your spine. " What, huh?"
" Shhhhhhh. I know you feel it too. I am dangerous. I already chose you from the night I first saw you; it didn't make sense to me either, but now I know I have to have you. Don't get me wrong. I've killed so many men just for shits and laughs, but I won't hurt you unless you want me to, haha."
His arms are wrapped tightly from behind, slowly stroking the back of your hair, and his fingers to the plate with your ear, he whispers.
"I could give you the whole world if you want me to, just say the word, and I can make this a real reality. Where is it going?"
"I don't understand!"
"You will soon enough. Don't be a brat."
You turn to see the other side of the bed as you jump up from your sleep. The other side was empty, a sign that Ohma had left while you were sleeping, and moistness between your legs that left you feeling ashamed about what you had just dreamed about.
The sound of rain soothing in the background as you rubbed your eye while you got up to get some water, only to be frightened by the sound of thunder heard from outside. Soft rumblings could be heard as you turned on all the lights to garner some safety wh
Leaving the room, you noticed a flicker of light at your window; unbeknownst to you, a familiar silhouette was right outside your fire escape.
After grabbing a glass of water, you found a note from Ohma:
Something came up, I have to talk soon.
It was short and sweet. You couldn't be bothered with what could have been significant enough to leave in the middle of the night, strolling back to bed, when you then met a chilling breeze and a gust of wind blasting from your window... that was closed and locked shut before you left your room.
You were sure of that.
That eerie feeling is creeping up on you again as you slowly walk towards the window with caution. A warm graze against your neck, like someone was breathing on you, it felt like someone was present. "Ohma, stop being creeping-"
You find no one standing there when you whip your head around. Confused and shaken up, I rushed to push the window closed and lock it. You immediately have an instant flashback of what transpired in your dreams. It's like he is haunting you, physically and mentally, captivating your every existence. In that moment, you realize this is going to be a problem for you, and you have to say something now before it gets worse.
You sent an email to your boss about scheduling a meeting after this shift. "Maybe having someone beside me won't hurt."
The evening descended swiftly, and your daytime sensations seemed to fade away as if they had never existed. The cool, crisp night air brushed past you, arriving with a sudden rush that made you shiver slightly. You approached the gate with a mixture of anticipation and dread, pressing your key card firmly against the sensor. A loud beep confirmed your access, followed by the rhythmic whir of the gate sliding open, revealing the facility's gated entrance. Each step toward the front door felt agonizingly slow, as if time itself had slowed down, and you couldn't shake the feeling that things would only get worse from here.
"Y/N, today is your special day," a voice crackled over the intercom, breaking your thoughts. "I've received a request from the higher-ups, and we will grant your wish. Someone will accompany you tonight—but only for the rest of the week. After that, you'll be on your own."
"Thank you, conductor," you replied softly, a mix of relief and apprehension in your voice.
"Alright, let's get straight to the point. Your only assessment tonight involves SCP-XXXX. Pay close attention to Raian Kure; he's been exhibiting abnormal reactions since the last incident. Stay alert, observe his cues, and remember all your emergency training—that's all. Conductor out."
A few tentative knocks on the metal door interrupted your focus. For a moment, you hesitated, thinking about who could be on the other side, only to realize it was a coworker, Cosmo, whose shift was now to sit beside you for the night. You exhaled in relief and got up from your seat to unlock the door.
"Hey. it's me!" Cosmo announced cheerfully as he stepped inside.
"Hey Cosmo, how are you?" you asked, trying to mask your fatigue.
"All good. The boss said I'd be here for the rest of the week to help out," he replied excitedly, slinging his bag over his shoulder.
Hours slipped by unnoticed. Cosmo sat on the otherside of the desk, visibly sagging with drowsiness, while you remained vigilant, taking meticulous notes on Raian's movements.
And Raian himself had been acting increasingly strange all night. He paced around the room, stopping abruptly to stare at the wall with an unsettling intensity. Occasionally, he would sit motionless, seemingly lost in thought, then glance toward the camera with an unnerving calm, his expression blank—like he was staring into your soul.
"When will this night end?" you muttered to yourself, stretching your arms and gazing up at the sterile, fluorescent-lit ceiling. But all that stress was starting wear you out a bit.
You heard a faint voice crackle through your headset, clearer now as you looked directly at Cosmo to see if he was listening too, but he was knocked out cold.
Panicking, you hurried to wake him, but he seemed almost unnaturally unresponsive, his limbs limp.
"Hey! Wake up!" you urged, anxiety rising.
You hesitated to press the emergency button unless necessary, knowing Raian's unpredictable nature and the potential danger.
"Aw, your buddy's fallen asleep !" Raian teased feebly, his eyes fluttering shut, and a grin wider than you could ever imagine humanly possible grew across his face.
Frustration boiled over as you sucked in a sharp breath. "Stop this right now!" you demanded. You didn't have time for his little games.
"Or what?" he challenged, a sly grin so creepy you thought.
Suddenly, a pulsating, luminous aura erupted around Raian, veins bulging vividly beneath his pallid, purple-tinged skin. His eyes glowed with an eerie light as he crouched, emanating an aura of intense, ominous power.
"No... No, Raian, stop!" you shouted desperately.
His body surged with dark energy, shaking the room violently. The metal confinement door, designed to contain him, shattered under his force. Raian emerged from the chaos, and he disappeared from the camera's view, but you knew he was pacing toward you...aggressively.
With no other option, you pressed the emergency button.
"Hello?! Hello?! I need assistance here!" you yelled into the comm, voice trembling.
No response.
Suddenly, the door was being kicked open with violent force. Standing in the doorway was Raian, his eyes burning with fury and madness.
"Stop where you are!" you commanded, swiftly drawing your gun and adopting a defensive stance. But honestly, what is a gun going to do for something like Raian!
You shut your eyes, bracing yourself for what's to come, and suddenly everything goes dark. You hear your name in the echoes of cries
"Y/nnnnnn"
"Y/nnn"
"Y/N!"
Cosmo shouted softly, "You...you were asleep and yelling, saying things. I was worried about you. I didn't want to disturb your rest. You seem really exhausted. Are you alright?" "Yeah, I'm fine. Did I sleep the whole time?" You rub your head, feeling a headache coming on. "Yes, you did, but it's okay. I've fallen asleep at work too, sometimes. I already wrote both of our reports, so don't worry." "Thanks. I owe you one," you say, appreciating his kindness. "No need to thank me," he replies, blushing slightly.
"Staring at the camera can be tiring." Cosmo continues
"Anyway, you have two more hours left on your shift. Let's take a break and get to know each other a bit." You both spend the next few minutes chatting and getting acquainted. Cosmo was concerned about you being here alone, especially after the incident a few weeks ago. You reassured him that you'll be taking on more trading, as requested by the higher-ups.
Suddenly, a burst of laughter came through the camera speaker. Both of you look at the camera as Raian laughs hysterically, rolling on the floor. It didn't matter anyway because it was time to go soon, and whatever craziness with him was none of your concern.
"So, um, besides that, how's the job going for you so far? It's been a few weeks, hasn't it?" Cosmo quickly shifts the conversation to lighten the mood.
"Pretty good, aside from the scares," you reply softly.
"I think I'll get used to it. I'm still a rookie, but how about you? How are you feeling about this job?"
"About five months now. I used to work at the Facility in the next city, but this place is closer," he says, offering a gentle smile.
"Long story short, I don't make enough money boxing, but this job pays well, so I do it part-time while working here full-time. I'm hoping to save enough to make boxing my full-time job someday." Cosmo says, his hand clenched into a fist and his face lit with determination.
"That's amazing! My boyfriend also boxes. He sometimes visits this city, and he watches the matches here too. Maybe you've seen him around." You share with warmth.
"Yeah, I have a tournament coming up. Maybe your boyfriend can come watch me this weekend!" You both agree on the plan, and Cosmo even offers you a ride home, making your route easier. With the weekend approaching, you're glad to have something to look forward to besides work, sleep, and eating. Later, as you sit in the kitchen, your phone rings. It's Cosmo. You appreciate that someone was checking on you.
"Hey! How are you?" "I'm good, I just got to the gym. I didn't mean to bother you if you were busy," he says kindly.
"You're fine, what's up?" you reply.
"You mentioned your boyfriend boxes, right?"
"Yep, Ohma Tokita—that's his name. I saw his medal out there, so he should be back by now," you say, feeling a bit proud.
"You know, Ohma?!" he exclaims excitedly.
"Mmm-hm, he said he left for the gym and would be back soon," you explain, a little hopeful.
"I haven't seen him around, though," Cosmo says, worry evident in his voice.
"Really?" you ask, concern growing.
"Yeah, but he's probably downstairs practicing with the boxers," he suggests. As the call ends, a feeling of unease returns. You ask Cosmo to check if Ohma is there and to message you immediately. You think there's no reason for him to lie about where he is, but maybe you're overreacting... perhaps he's just grabbing lunch. Still, those late-night texts where he says something came up make you worry. He's never left you like that before...he's usually so clingy, eager to come home, stay close. Why is he gone so often lately? As you're lost in thought, you get a message from your coworker
"Nope, not here. Maybe he's on his way home, haha." Your heart sinks. It feels like your stomach drops, and a cold wave washes over you.

After the Match
You stood confidently near the exit of a hole in the wall jazz bar. The dim yellow lighting cast a warm glow against the brick wall, painting a sheer on your presence.
Giving your sun kissed skin a gold touch. The summer breeze wrapped around you as smoke curled from the j your friend offered, their voice steady as they spoke. You rarely smoked, but tonight feels different, life has thrown its challenges at you, and you're ready to get the night started with a little relieve some stress.
Seems like you keep getting fucked left and right. Not by the right people or the right scenario. But all will soon change when you meet...Raian. You hadn't known it yet but your life was going to change tonight with one bold decision after another.
____________________________________________
Raian had just emerged victorious from a match, the adrenaline still coursing through his veins, yet the man was still bored. His frustration washed over him as he witnessed the ongoing rivalry, as other fighters emerged from below and their matches no longer intrigued him. He decided to leave early, his footsteps echoing softly as he meandered through the dimly lit corners of the city, a place alive with the hum of nightlife. Bars packed and club lines trailed outside the doors. The usual busy Friday night scene.
He sought out entertainment, and when he thought of entertainment, he meant a good fight.
With a flick of his wrist, he brushed a few beads of sweat from his brow, feeling the remnants of pent up energy within him. "That guy was hardly a challenge anyway," he grumbled beneath his breath
Just then, he halted, the noise of the city fading into the background as he caught sight of a shadowy alleyway. The only illumination came from the yellow glow of a bar's exit sign, casting a surreal light over the darkened passage. Curiosity tugged at him, pulling him closer to the promise of action that lay hidden within the alley's depths. Some may say it was destiny but others may say you were lucky that night. A man in a black hoodie looking oddly suspicious glaring at you while still chatting with a girlfriend of yours.
The doors to the exit swung open as two people stumbled out, heading in another direction. Seizing the moment, your friend decided to head back inside while you parted ways. You strode confidently through the alley, your heels clicking rhythmically against the ground. Unbeknownst to you though, a man trailed behind, pacing slowly. Raian shadowed this hooded figure, waiting for the right moment. In an instant, he lunged forward, seizing the attacker before he could plunge his knife toward you.
A loud snap echoed through the alley, followed by a heavy thud as the man crumpled to the ground. You turned slowly, halting in your tracks, and caught a glimpse of the assailant on the pavement, knife still clutched in his hand. Standing tall above both of you was Raian. A loud snap echoed through the alley, followed by a heavy thud as the man crumpled to the ground. You turned slowly, halting in your tracks, and caught a glimpse of the assailant on the pavement, knife still clutched in his hand. Standing tall above both of you was Raian, his grim smile replaced by disbelief. He glanced at you, shocked to see you utterly unfazed, not even a hint of fear crossing your face.
"Well, shit! You really need to pay attention to where you're going. Fortunately for your useless ass, I took care of that little nuisance." The atmosphere fell silent as you remained quiet, your j still dangling from your mouth, locking eyes with him. Switching your heels to face the man directly, you lifted the j with your finger, exhaling smoke as your gaze swept over Raian from head to toe. "Care for a smoke?"
————————————————————————
Honestly, he doesn't get it. How can someone like you convince him to take a midnight stroll scaling the star? Smoking and laughing at your joke what the hell is this? What has gotten into him? Well one thing led to another is what he would like to say but truth is it all started with a question.
" wanna come upstairs? My apartment is just two buildings down. Nothing special just for a few drinks if you're down." You offered
Standing just outside your apartment building. You could thank him for walking you all this way and that was the intended idea you had. Looking him up and down and smile crept your face.
Damn he looks good, you thought to yourself
“ The fuck are you looking at?! Did you hear what I said?”
He made it this far he thought. " Risky asking a stranger over. Hell nah what for—” then he stop for second to think “ You know on second thought… I'll take you up on that offer but do you got for me?”
You turned to face the man trailing behind you as you approached your apartment. "Or what? Are you going to kill me? Please. I have exactly what you need, so don't worry." A confident smile crossed your lips.
Now seated on your couch, with a glass of Coke and bourbon on the table, the conversation flowed mainly as him yelling opposition to every statement you made to rile you up, but you paid him no mind. And between you two as the night deepened, Raian felt an undeniable tension in his chest the entire time you spoke; he couldn't take his eyes off your lips, pondering when he should make his move. Frustration boiled within him, he never got nervous about anything, so why was this moment different? Maybe because he isn't all that experienced with women. And he wouldn't admit that.
He winced mid-conversation slamming his glass on the table. " Yo, you good? What's up with you?!"
"Why, you scared?" he snaps back a gleaming smile on his face
" Of you?! Boy, please otherwise why would I invite you back to my place, hm?"
"Yeah, why did you? stupid or somethin'?"
"Tch, clearly not as dumb as you!" You got up to walk away from the man not wanting to entertain his bullshit any further he was 2 seconds from kicking him out anyway. But before you could move any further he stops you in your tracks by grabbing a while of your wrist.
" What!"
" Oooh, someone mad haha." Basking in your frustrated mood he pulls you back into his side with his arm now resting around your waist, "Where are you going? Did I say you can leave so soon?"
He paused for a moment wondering what to do.
And in a swift move captured your lips. He fell first and you fell deeper.
Drunkenness enveloped you both as you lay on the bed, dazed and high. Without a second thought, you stripped off your clothes, leaving nothing but your t shirt and panties, shedding any need for concealment, completely disregarding Raian. You turned off the lamp and settled back into a deep sleep, embracing the moment Raian joined you.
Raian fought against sleep, his eyelids heavy with fatigue. He was frustrated by the vulnerability that came with letting go and lying next to stranger. He needed to maintain heightened alertness at all times; it was what he had trained for after all. Control was essential for him he craved it. Suddenly, in a surge of determination, he threw off the covers and sat up in bed, angered by his inability to shake off the weight of his exhaustion. But to his surprise, there you were, half-naked and magnificent before him. You looked so peaceful.
He's never been an expert at the kind of... "fight" before but there was no reason not to try out something he thought to himself as he smiled mischievously. With an idea in mind.
You, on the other hand, were pretending to be unfazed by his attention. Even though you had just met Raian, his antics were already familiar territory for you at this point. His raw, unfiltered personality was exhilarating, you felt a slight urge to touch him more yet you were still shy in some way. However, that didn't deter Raian. He was determined to seize the moment and would find a way to pushyou closer to him. He had to gauge the vibe between you two, to tease and play with you a bit, ensuring you were on the same wavelength.
Calming his demeanor from before he sinks back down into the bed. With his head resting on his arms as he stares at the ceiling. Thinking to himself as he's never had the time or opportunity like this with a woman before all his interactions with them have been vague and obtuse. Not once pay it any mind being he had other priorities. But man does he feel like the vibes are right with you? Something primal in him was awakening.
He cast a glance your way, taking in your figure before decisively turning to wrap his arm around you. His touch was unexpected yet gentle as he secured you against him, and when you brushed closer against his touch he instantly pulled you closer, holding you tight. His lips brushing against your neck and ear with an intensity that sent shivers down your spine. There was a deep, primal urge within him to bite your neck not out of malice, but a raw desire to claim. A soft moan left your lips that made him stop. And your hands snake around him touching his face.
His hands hook all around you now feeling your cold to the touch body as his big warm callous hands roam and squeeze your figure. Both hands capture your breast, using his index and thumbs to roll around your nipples pretending that sleep didn't suit you anymore and you caved into his touch letting out a soft moan and tossing your head back over his shoulder.
And there you were, undeniably captivating in your full display, every detail drawing his attention. He felt an inexplicable thrill coursing through him, a sense of possibility that both exhilarated and confused him. Could he go through with it? Was it truly that simple for him? Maybe something in the heat of the moment. Raian had never experienced this kind of excitement before; it was as if a fire had ignited within him, stirring a deep, intoxicating arousal that he had never known. The sensation was overwhelming, yet strangely welcomed, as he found himself lost in the moment. For the first time in his life, he felt a desire to be patient, to take his time and savor what was unfolding before him, allowing himself to lean into this new and thrilling experience instead of rushing head first into things.
You were a absolute mess underneath him. He will never get over this image.
He did things just to see what would happen.
"Raai-" your moan was muffled by a kiss as he squeezed and pinched your nipples sending a shockwave signal to your head. Throwing yourself back and rubbing up against his hard on. Taking that as a signal to keep going he began to thrash his hip forward against you causing you to moan louder and his groans to deepen.
Thrusting hard against you. You spread your leg wide seizing the opportunity he's hand lands on your plush you guide his hands and fingers to your pearl. He slightly pinched and rolled your clit the same as he did with your nipples " Fuccck don't stop...don't stop ahh!"
" You fuckin' like that don't ya?! Fuckin' this was your plan all along, yeah?" he grumbled breathing down your ear as his hip snapped keeping that same tempo never changing the motion.
Then suddenly he stops and lets go of you as you whimpered upset that your all passionate event was coming to an end "Awwe look at you begging for more. " he places his hand on your chin as he drops his pants and takes off his shirt "Don't worry Im not done with you little ass yet."
Watching his hard on spring out of his brief your mouth watered at what's to come next.
———————————————————————
You can vividly recall that first night when things shifted between you and Raian, marking the start of an unconventional arrangement that would ultimately change both your lives because 6 months had passed since that fateful evening, and what began as a spontaneous encounter had gracefully morphed into a more elaborate, aroutine that felt comforting.
Tonight, as you prepared for another meeting, a mixture of excitement. You had taken extra care with your appearance, choosing your favorite outfit that always seemed to make you feel captivating. Staring at your reflection in your vanity mirror. The scent of your signature perfume subtle yet it lingered in the air, wrapping around you like a warm embrace.
However, as you stood waiting at the door, the minutes began to stretch into what felt like an eternity. Checking the time on your phone and scrolling. He had never mentioned meeting you there, but a part of you had expected him to arrive just as he always did. It struck you as unusual that he hadn't texted or called to confirm, but you shook off the doubt, reminding yourself of the playful dynamic you had built together. Still, you couldn't help but feel a twinge of unease creeping into your thoughts, as the anticipation in the air began to mingle with uncertainty. You decide to take a sit back in your room in your vanity chair. Coming through your window sneaking up behind you he scared the little soul you had left.
"Boy, what the hell?!"
Raian just chuckled before wrapping his hand around your neck pull you in for a kiss. Then slowly engulfed you with his big bear arms.
"What I told ya I was coming, right? So stop your whining!"
" You weasel your way through my window! I live on the 6th floor! What the hell?"
He just shrugged you off as usual. That was a part of his demeanor as he never thought it was a big deal that he told his occupation within the first week of meeting you so he didn't come calling him wondering why you haven't spoken in a while. Promising to keep it secret he never saw it as a big deal. And everyday since you learn something new about him
"You're something else you know that!" you sighed in frustration work and life have been kicking your ass lately and an evening with Raian made your whole night, week, hell month! " That dangerous you know that?!"
Hovering over you looking at his sclera eyes pierce the back of your head as you're finishing up your makeup paying no mind "Don't be a dumbass you know the kind of man that I am. I never had to hide anything."
" Touché, but still. I don't want my neighbors having more things on me than they do already."
" They outta mind their own fucking business those fuckwards!"
And there he goes again with the senseless rumbling about killing my neighbors You thought to yourself
"Bastards! I'd wipe them out, who—" you interrupted his ranting placing your hand in his shoulder
"Raian."
" Yeah?"
"I'm ready to go now." Place all of your makeup brushes back where they belong and gather your purse and jacket.
"..." he looked at you with that cute blink stare he does and snickered
" My bad. Let's get going."with his hands in his pockets strolling towards the front door
Six months later, this routine between the two of you had evolved into a comfortable rhythm, and everything felt on track despite the lack of any formal commitment in your relationship. There was no need to delve deeper, as you both were perfectly content with the casual arrangement. You both weren't seeing other people, yet those lines began to blur quickly. As soon things will start to come up challenging that theory. Raian informed later that night he'd be going away for a while for a mission.

Chapter 2: Lucky you
As your shift drew to a close, you meticulously wrapped up your notes, the dim glare of the monitor before you flickering like a distant star in an otherwise dark sky. You are prepared to leave the sterile confines of the station, stepping out into the stillness of the night. Thus far, your night had been uneventful; no jarring jump scares from the security camera screens, yet.
However, warnings about the strange behaviors of the anomalies you were monitoring echoed in your mind like an ominous whisper as you walked out of the building, bidding a goodbye to the security guard who had opened the door and slammed it shut. As you stepped out, jarring quietness consumed you. Hearing nothing but the breeze and tree shafts.
The soft glow of the streetlights painted the pavement with pools of ethereal light, illuminating the long, desolate sidewalk that stretched ahead like a solitary path in a dream. The bus, a tired old machine, waited at the end of the street. A distant finish line in a race you hardly felt prepared for. A wave of exhaustion crashed over you, and you sighed, feeling every ounce of the fatigue weigh down on you.
Your body ached at the thought of your sleep schedule being in shambles, and you dreaded the impending battle of trying to rest during the day. Yet, what choice did you really have at this point?
As you settled into the worn seat of the bus, your phone abruptly rang, piercing through the weariness that clung to you like a second skin.
"Ohma? What's up?" you answered, trying to infuse some energy into your voice.
"Ah, nothing much. Just wondering if you had any thoughts about dinner," Ohma replied, their voice warm and familiar, providing a slight comfort amidst your exhaustion.
You sighed, rubbing your eyes. "Right now, all I can think of is grabbing something quick to eat before crashing into bed. A shower? That'll have to wait until I'm awake enough for work all over again. I'm exhausted."
A twinge of concern crept in. 'Is this really going to be my life? Sleep during the day and work through the night?'
A flicker of gratitude emerged as you recalled, 'At least I have the weekend off.' That small reprieve offered a sliver of comfort in your troubled thoughts.
"Umm, hello? Can you hear me?" Ohma's voice brought you back.
"Oh, sorry, babe. I'm just really tired. A lot on my mind right now."
"Dinner's on me tonight, then. Don't worry about that. Just hurry over, I'm almost at the bus stop waiting for you."
The next night was a hazy blur, memories washed away by waves of sleep. All you could recall was collapsing face first into your pillow, waking up earlier than expected. Morning light trickled through the curtains, giving you a head start on some much needed rest. You and Ohma dashed to the local Chinese restaurant, open 24 hours, picking up takeout as a comforting ritual before the day turned into night again. After a quick shower, by 1:30 am, you were both nestled in bed together, lying like two bears hibernating, sharing that warmth and tranquility.
Yet, a gnawing anxiety stirred in your chest as turbulent dreams invaded your slumber, shifting shapes and emotions swirling together.
'What the hell was all that about?' You found yourself on an operating table in a dimly lit room, surrounded by shadowy figures; the familiar faces of your coworkers twisted into an unsettling blur. A disembodied voice echoed through the darkness, laced with crackling laughter, "I see you... But you can't see me." The taunting tone made your skin crawl, as the oppressive stares of those shadowy figures loomed over you like a nightmare you'd rather forget. 'Perhaps I made a mistake in taking this job' you thought; a futile reassurance from Ohma meant to guide you back to sleep as he assumed you were having a tough time sleeping.
Before you knew it, the time had arrived once again to repeat the cycle all over. You suited up, stepping into the room as the double doors closed behind you, the bright, sterile lighting from the security cameras glaring down like a watchful eye.
————————————————————————
"Good Evening, Y/N. Are you ready for today's assignment?" your supervisor's voice resonated, a familiar cadence that pulled you from your thoughts. "I have assigned one anomaly for you to monitor. The other is set aside for research and testing today. Your task is to keep an eye on Raian Kure. Take notes and report any suspicious activity."
"Yes, sir. I'm on it!" you responded, determination flooding back.
"I expect nothing less from you, Y/N. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to call. And in case of an emergency, please use the button below your desk without delay. Conductor out!"
————————————————————————
30 mins in and nothing scary has happened yet but you do get this uneasy feeling in your chest whenever you look up to watch "him" on cams.
He was sitting in the same spot and had not moved yet two hands were placed above his head sitting he held on the edge of the bed like he was thinking hard about something.
You figured it was nothing much for tonight so you took your eyes off the screen just for a few seconds.
"Well I guess I won't have much to write which is less work for me," you said to yourself, and you turned to your bag for a snack you hadn't noticed he was looking up at the camera this time with an abnormally wide grin, and moving swiftly with speed he made his way across the room without detection. Turning your attention back he was now facing the wall for whatever.
"Huh? When the hell did you move? When?"
Taking a bite of your cookies that's stuff in a ziplock bag carefully as you wipe out your pen to write down some things.
" whatcha writing this time?!" a voice booms from the speakers jolting up You look at the screen only to find Raian with that sinister grin staring directly at the camera only his head turned as his body is still facing the wall
You froze not able to know what to say or do your hand hovering over the emergency button underneath the desk.
" Nuh uh uh, you can be a good girl tonight right?"
The bastard was taunting you.
" GET YOUR FUCKING HAND OFF THAT BUTTON-" his voice elevated even louder causing you to go cold in fear
"Wha- what the hell?" you whisper to yourself moving his body forward now his facing the camera fully standing upright you can see his deep cut muscular physique hair as pale as his skin and white irises that pop in contrast to his black eyes.
" Remember last night. Now be a good girl fa me, and I won't... Taunt you this time just want to relay a message is all."
But you didn't listen and oh he knew you wouldn't. He can smell the fear in you from where he was sweet note made his blood rush to his head he wanted to take you right then that night.
Patience....
He thought to himself that he needed to keep his composure just for now.
" Conductor Over! I'm sending in troops right now stay put Y/N!"
————————————————————————
The ride home after writing an incident report was eerie to say the least. After looking over the footage they found no tracing of the whole. Not one! And to make matters worse it just shows Raian in bed sleeping like a baby. Maybe it was all in your head you thought to yourself, your boss even suggested a small vacation away from everything saying it would help mentally. But you just got here and already things have hit the fan.
Speaking of which, tomorrow night your next shift will be with another person beside you this time you know, for safety... Like that would help with anything.
And what you couldn't get out of your head was the deafening echo of thoughts that he knew you were dreaming about him last night. Maybe you do need a vacation after tomorrow's shift you thought.
Maybe you and Ohma can finally spend some time together after all.

__________________________________________
It began as a struggle, a relentless battle against the weight of your own choices, but gradually, the burden became lighter to bear the more you came to your senses.
You were stubborn, there was no denying that. You understood that you were not alone in your plight. No one was coming to save you from the tangled mess you had woven yourself into. You found yourself lying in the bed of your now ex-boyfriend, staring at the same four walls you had grown accustomed to for weeks on end. The most adrenaline-filled moments you experienced, aside from the mundane thrill of grocery shopping, revolved around cheering for him during his matches, surrounded by a sea of enthusiastic faces. Ohma Tokita was a household name there. Everyone loved him and he was doing what he loved most. You were happy for him. But then there is you.
You tried, oh, how you tried. Yet, here you were, trapped in the role of a stay at home girlfriend, feeling like a ghost of your former self with no dreams or desires beyond the hollow echo of his affection. Yes, you had semi-completed your schooling, but the inkling of ambition felt like a distant memory, barely enough to guide you as you stepped into the unknown.
Telling your boyfriend about your newfound direction felt impossible. You knew he wouldn't take the news well. He'd feign happiness, but you could sense the underlying fear of abandonment lurking behind his facade. This wouldn't be the first time you'd stepped away from him, but this time, your intention was clear. You were not planning to vanish without a trace, leaving him to scour for remnants of your presence while you were already gone. You've done that before and back to square one because of it.
Now, here you were again, confronted by the very same situation, desperate for a grip on life as it slipped through your fingers. Being broke and devoid of ambition was not an option. Even if he couldn't comprehend it, you realized it was time to choose yourself. After all, nobody was coming to rescue you.
In many ways, your determination surged once you noticed him spending time with his "friends," particularly that alluring woman you had spotted during his matches. Suspicion flickered in your mind, but the urge to fight for him dissipated. If he was cheating, then his choices were no longer your concern; it was almost a relief to think he would be out of your way. They have so much in common you bet he wouldn't notice if you were gone.
Two years later, you found yourself settled in a new city, far from your old life and him. Six months ago, you had completed your certification and graduated from the academy, triumphantly landing a high-paying role at the Godhead Foundation, a prestigious government agency cloaked in secrecy.
Life was undeniably improving, though the path to independence was rocky. Learning to fight for yourself and navigate the world without the safety net you once relied on was a challenge, but your hard work and tenacity hadn't gone unnoticed.
And then, like a whirlwind, he reentered your life, transformed in ways you couldn't quite fathom. It took time for you to reconcile your feelings about Ohma but one thing is for sure, you both understood that you had separate spaces in the world. Regaining your independence was a journey, and allowing yourself to feel too comfortable again was a risk you weren't willing to take.
He would visit from time to time, spending weekends with you, and you found yourself pondering why it hadn't been like this from the very beginning. But life is a lesson, and you were learning, step by painstaking step.
It started hard before it became easier to cope with.
————————————————————————
As the evening envelops the city in a cloak of twilight, a buzz of anticipation courses through you, urging you to leave your snug apartment tucked away on the more rugged side of town. With your phone in hand, the screen illuminating with the rhythm of your favorite playlist, you stand at the bus stop, the chill in the air only adding to the thrill of the night ahead. Clad in a cozy black hoodie that hugs your frame and tailored black slacks that accentuate your silhouette, you complete the look with your trusty black boots, a silent testament to countless adventures and a dash of shoe polish.
After a relentless year of putting in the hours on day shifts with your team, you've finally earned a promotion—a thrilling leap from security to detective. But for tonight, you don the familiar fabric of your old uniform; leather scrap and pockets where a pistol is supposed to have been, a nod to the past while you brace for the future. The anticipation of your first night monitoring the cameras has been fueled by a week of rigorous training, yet the familiar feeling of nerves lingers.
When the bus rumbles up to the stop, its headlights slicing through the dusk, you join the line of commuters, excitement brewing inside you. Eagerly, you tap your key card against the scanner, the soft beep sounding like a promise as you step aboard. Finding a seat by the window, you let your gaze meander towards the horizon. The sunset dazzles, spilling vibrant hues of orange and pink across the sky, a breathtaking canvas that portrays the city's pulse as the bus glides smoothly through its animated streets.
Your destination lies at the very end of the route, a spot tucked away on the outskirts of the urban sprawl. As the bus approaches, you are the only one left at this stop, and a mix of eagerness and apprehension swirls within you. With a deliberate deep breath, you disembark onto the quiet sidewalk. A sense of stillness surrounds you, interrupted only by the whisper of a gentle breeze, as you take in the signs of neglect that flank the road with tall trees on either side. Here, the desolation is palpable, and the few souls who traverse this path are those clutching government-issued IDs, a reminder of the gravity that shrouds this secluded area.
At the end of the path stands a formidable gate, marking the boundary of my journey, and you approach it with a sense of curiosity and hope for what lies beyond this new position.
————————————————————————
"Listen up, Y/N. This isn't your typical security surveillance—this is a high-tech operation. Each station has 8 rooms that need monitoring. You have 5 Anomalies and 3 Abnormal creatures to keep an eye on. Pay close attention to their movements and take detailed notes. Do you understand?" The crunchy sound of the intercom overhead signals that it's time for me to head to my new office. The double metal doors lock automatically until the scheduled shift changes, such as lunchtime or dinner. In this case, it's time for dinner since I'm working the overnight shift.
"Yes, sir!" I responded.
—" Remember, this is a life-or-death situation that impacts not just you, but the entire staff. These entities are extremely dangerous, and one Anomaly in particular. Raian Kure poses a significant threat as a humanoid anomaly. He is our newest addition. You must keep a close watch on him. We must monitor his progress closely to understand his habits better. If there are no questions, that will be all. Conductor out!"
As I take a deep breath, the cool, crisp air fills my lungs. I bend down carefully to avoid straining my back, pulling out a crinkly pack of oreos and two sturdy water bottles from the depths of my bag. I don't plan on taking my dinner break due to my anxiety about fucking up on the job. I want to keep a close eye on everything. My job is the easiest I would say in the hold facility compared to the scientists and soldiers on foot. Many of them have died during the job too.
Let's pray it will not be me not.
I set my phone onto the charger, knowing it's virtually useless out in this remote location where the signal doesn't dare to reach with a resigned yawn, I flick on the computer and start up the cameras. Suddenly, the screen comes alive—eight full displays burst into view, each showing a different image of the entities that lie under my vigilant watch, their shadows flickering in the dim light. All except one. The bullshit starts already. This shit is giving me the chills.
Everything looks so obinence and scary
The room was shrouded in darkness, but the harsh glare from the camera illuminated every corner, making it easier to absorb the unfolding drama. "Let's see what this Raian guy is all about," I muttered to myself, my fingers flying over the shutter button as I captured every intriguing angle of his space still dark with two blaring eyes staring back into the camera. Trying to shine some light there to see more and nothing!
Where the hell is he?
"You gotta be fucking kidding me... where the hell is he?"
I recall from the handbook, countless videos, and training sessions that some anomalies can often vanish without a trace, but there were certain methods to detect their movements or sense their lingering presence. Yet he is proving to be more difficult than I imagined. "I'm using the infrared lights, and I still can't see anything!" I exclaimed, as for the laser light gun well you'll have to be on foot for that. And you're not doing that so that's out of the question. Frustration was creeping into my voice as I scanned the area, searching for any sign of his enigmatic figure.
I checked the left notes left behind by someone who previously had your job they died within a week of being here evident by the dried blood specks on the page. Checking the notes on his characteristics to see if there was something that provoked him but nothing. They never finished writing.
"Come on, it's my first day, and I can't afford to lose this position," I exclaimed. I need to ensure all my tasks are completed; any mistake could cost me. I worked too hard to get promoted.
I waited all night for him to appear and I focused on the others who might I add are the creepiest things known to man.
But after a long night came the morning. Turning in my email of my notes reluctant to turn my notes about Raian, I have no choice.

Unbeknownst to you, he was not truly absent; instead, he was quietly observing from a distance. He used his energy with such precision and care that he remained undetected, blending seamlessly into his surrounding shadows. Even when split up by blinding lights he could cast his shadow anywhere.
Through the lens, he closely monitored your every move, seeing the heat wave from your body. You were in the room right above all eight rooms all rotating in a circle, taking note of your growing anxiety over his sudden disappearance.
" Oh they brought a woman this time hehe, she'll be fun to scare before they tear her apart like the others"
The way you furrowed your brow in frustration and searched for answers fascinated him. "Damn I'm such a tease!" he snorted to himself. He reveled in your mounting panic, savoring each moment as you grappled with the uncertainty that surrounded you, completely unaware of his watchful presence.
'Oh, so precious,' he mused silently, a twisted smile creeping across his lips as he gazed at you. What you didn't know was that you were the sole occupant of this office, a place that had seen the tragic ends of three other security personnel before you; their lives snuffed out by his merciless hand, an entity with the chilling ability to teleport at will.
The staff had resorted to using a special ray, a desperate measure designed to dampen his sinister abilities. They understood its effects would be temporary, just a fleeting shield to protect you from a fatal encounter on your first day...Yet, even with this layer of security, he found himself inexplicably captivated by your presence. 'You can keep looking be I'm not even there anyone'
His thoughts danced around the idea of keeping you around longer than the others, prolonging your life in a twisted game that delighted him.
You may be wondering if he can teleport why can he just leave that's a long story of his plans of not only escaping but setting some others free.
He was planning to take some major step tonight but then they hired you.
You were different somehow, an intriguing figure in a world where danger lurked around every corner, and he reveled in this dark fantasy of his. Once he began to fade from you office and back to his scrap of a bed he a appear on screen as if nothing had happened and he had always been there slouching over seemly ready for bed.
" Huh, finally!" you exclaimed now able to write down note for tonight.
My first story on here. There will be more chapters just been scared to post. I hope you like.
