Ok so.. I was taking a break from the work I was doing and decided to watch some music videos and couldn't help but catching a real and disturbing fact. What happened: I watched two videos, shot by the same company, one was your normal everyday "rapper" shit, money, cars, bad female etc.. The other was real hip hop, lyricism, depth etc The first video was definitely dope, form a visual standpoint, high end quality, immaculate editing.. The second video was even more dope, quality, editing, scenes and even the song was CLEARLY superior to the first but what was the difference?? VIEWS The second, more creatively and all round better visual had a little more than 1% of the views that the first had...... crazy right?? I said all that to say this.. When it comes to the general mass population, being overly creative instead of dumbing down situations to fit the every day persons idea of what "hot" is Will get you overlooked and out played every single time. These days people don't appreciate the amount of work, the amount of thinking and piecing together of creative projects with the cinematic feel.
