Oh no, he seems to have dozed off.

When Lucanis pulls away from Rook just before kissing them, I (personally) think that it's, among several other things, because he's afraid that he could hurt Rook if Spite took him over. After all, it's just after he almost killed his cousin, somebody extremely important to him, in a moment when he completely lost control over his own body to Spite and he couldn't do anything about it. I think it would be natural that he'd worry about something like that with a person he'd fallen for. So, I thought, what if he had a bad dream about it, in a moment when he happened to briefly fall asleep? Now it's part of my headcanon, before Inner Demons.

In the nightmare (which happens some time after the kiss attempt), I depicted Lucanis leaning against the wall, not the same way, but in a similar way as when he tried to kiss Rook. Because what if he'd leaned in for the kiss and then Spite had grabbed her? What if he couldn't stop himself just like with Illario? What then? 🫣
