Slime girl as a taxonomy is actually not quite accurate - as obligate shapeshifters, slimes are capable of both asexual and sexual reproduction, creating whatever organs they require moment to moment. Independent of other species, though, their beauty standard tend to emphasize softness, curvature, and voluptuousness. As one might imagine, it required very little time for standards of attractiveness to converge and for slime society to adopt the aesthetic and social aspects of the "girl" gender.

i like to imagine how people in the post-material-scarcity future would romanticise the current time period.

having a job gave people a sense of community and purpose lacking in our modern age where nobody is forcing you to get out of bed on threat of starvation. actually the average office worker in the early 21st century was so much wealthier than a UBI-having-modern if you forget to count paying rent and also make some very bad purchasing power conversions. if you look at contemporary records (sitcom where the main characters are only at work when it's plot relevant) it is obvious that employment was never really a major obstacle to having an active social life or pursuing your own passions.

while i still can't decide on what the funniest part of disco elysium is i think the whole bit with the alphabet book is up there. describing it doesn't even do it justice but like. it's the way harry goes "let's do this" "mmhm" "yeah!" while slowly and thoughtfully reading the alphabet in his head. how every letter is represented by some obscure fuckass discoelysiumey word like AZIMUTH or PERIHELION even though it's a kids book but X is still for xylophone because of course it is. how you can immediately go tell kim you know the alphabet now and he goes "good. i also know the alphabet." and the fucking esprit the corps check going "it is a very useful skill to have, he thinks. for all sorts of life activities. like reading, and..." and that's the end of the scene and it doesn't even give you exp or anything but at least you can sleep well tonight knowing you taught harry du bois the alphabet. congratulations

Everyone call Ogre stupid and it True! Ogre can only understand popular quotations like "Very well then, I contradict myself" and "Introibo ad altare Dei" not obscure references like "Thalatta!" and "the rage of Caliban at not seeing his face in a mirror" that contextualize the characters' perspective on life within the lens of culture and literature!
