Five nights at Freddy's 2 fan theory time

I just came up with a little theory on why the animatronics started to attack people, especially after the murders.

During the game, they make it rather obvious that people, children especially, are fond and adore the animatronics; and that the animatronics return the adoration, but only to the children. Only after the murders did they start to attack people; the bite implied to have happened to possibly the main character of 2,or possibly another adult. What if the animatronics attacked the adults because they thought they were a danger to the children?
