Even being the one to say it, hearing it repeated back had Isa questioning the same thing, silently. Almost a year, in a world still fairly foreign to him. Having to work through things on his own and lacking much company aside from the few odd faces he’s come to know by name – but, even then, some of those faces seemed to have vanished as new ones appeared. Reminiscent of the Organization, in all honesty. Perhaps slightly less stressful, in its’ own ways.
“–oh?” Thoughts were interrupted ( as they usually were with Lea nearby ), the jab catching his attention and causing Isa to muffle a snort. “That’s why you came to sit with me, then, right?” It was difficult to not give a roll of the eyes, head shaking in light disapproval. “– and ask so many questions at that.”
Despite the playful banter, Isa felt his heart set at ease hearing that his friend had, also, met with Xion. He could still clearly hear the disappointment she had expressed upon his saying none of the others had been on the island. Never would he admit it, but for the first time… he was glad to be proven wrong. Only so much could be accomplished before hesitation kept his hand. To have Lea brought into the picture eased some of that burden; some of that grief.
“… no, it isn’t too bad,” he came to mutter in response. Unconsciously his voice had grown softer; quieter. Attention, once again, fell to the waves and the distant horizon. This world had its perks, but it wasn’t free of its’ nightmares. Recalling past events that occurred here was enough to distance Isa’s attention, and the mention of the Organization possibly being involved only furthered that distance.
He wasn’t aware of when his arms had come to cross, or when their grasp upon his torso had grown so tight. There was an ache between his ribcage that he wished the pressure would drown out. “… unfortunately, there are a few members present. Xemnas included.”
still-- after being back to his former self, lea was still trying to get back to adjusting to what clearly was a world that was strangely unfamiliar from the world he once knew. his actions and the meaning behind those actions wasn’t ever going to disappear and that people will always remember. once again, the silence breaks. “who knows. not like you’ve got a lot to tell me anyway, right? then i guess it’s best not to dwell on thinkin’ about it.” at the last of that sentence he sighed. lea had his concerns, sure but those might just have to wait until later so instead, he opted to let those thoughts just sit. “then again, maybe i wanted to visit my old friend. last time i remembered, we couldn’t even stand to look at each other.”
as if he was going to admit it or anything but he sort of missed hangin’ out with his childhood friend and obviously their lives as nobodies in the past had been puttin’ on a lot of strain between the two. there had been so many questions that he wanted to ask especially now, to pry around but for now he kept silent just to let his thoughts sit. while he had a lot of time to say somethin’, axel couldn’t begin to let saix weigh his mind due to certain circumstances.
tsk. hearing the mention of the organization’s existence in the same unfamiliar world left a bitter taste in his own mouth given its past. lea hadn’t had the pleasure of meeting any more of them but maybe it had been for the best, knowing how complicated the situation may serve given his own actions. however he had already been making a habit of sweeping it all under the rug. unapologetically. “that old geezer? that’s just great.” lea feels his body tense, letting his upper body stretch as he rolled his shoulders just hoping he’s able to avoid xemnas for as long as he could. “but you seem to be adjusting fine, i see. how does it feel? being back?” one of the questions he had been meaning to ask, it manages to slip through.
