i hate it when people ask me to "explain my thought process" like hell if i know
"what's going on in that head of yours?" nothing i want to be a part of
so crazy to me how many ppl act like not knowing abt major global events is normal and think of things like reading the news as the hobby of certain individuals rather than um recognizing that staying informed about the planet is like ? essential?
like how do you live life so blindly ignorant to the struggles of your fellow man? doesnt that make you sad?
It reflects simultaneously an incredible amount of privilege and an incredible lack of care for others to do so. like its not a fun quirky trait to not be informed. You’re just failing to care.
There’s a really deep and well researched podcast on these kinds of black community massacres called Dreams of Black Wall Street. It’s covered the Greenwood, Tulsa and Okoe massacres as well as Rosewood and others. I already knew these things happened generally, but the set up of context, scope, details of the events and the generational effects that it illuminates, have both blown my mind and given me an even deeper appreciation for black survival and joy in country the United States, even though I was already about my people.
If you care about the histories and liberation of oppressed peoples, this is an important one to listen to.
omfg im laughing so hard i fell asleep on my keyboard last night and i just found this
PAGE 1 OF 184
One entire row of ‘f’s takes 10 seconds to type. There are 45 lines per page, so you take 450 seconds per page. You claim to have typed 184 pages, which would take a total of 82800 seconds, or exactly 23 hours. You are a liar
You forgot that she was holding down the key. This accelerates the rate at which the f’s appear; once the ‘f’s appear at a rapid rate, it’s about 3.4 seconds per line. Also, 45 lines per page is generous - I counted and given that the page is Times New Roman, 12pt font, it’s about 41 lines.
This means that it’s 139.4 seconds per page, times 184 is 25649.6 seconds, and that rounds out to about 7.1 hours, or 7 hours 7 minutes.
It’s perfectly reasonable for her to have slept!
i'll just leave this here for anyone who sees "from the river to the sea" as a threat

Again, watching politicians pretend like this isn’t genocide is horrifying.
Do not stop talking about what is happening in Palestine.
After getting over the initial shock and heartbreak of this tweet and this reply, it hit me that (and I don't know if this is a cultural thing here in the middle east or an Islamic one)
A child has to be named even if they're stillborn.
For a child to not be named, that means there's no one left to name them. They were killed along with their entire family.
I hoped I was wrong, but I checked the list of victims of Israeli attacks and found this:
Israel has ended 47 Palestinian bloodlines over the course of this genocide (or perhaps more), so you might think that this little detail isn't that important, but I don't think we should get used to cruelty of this proportion, no matter how consistently Israel commits it.
What I tolerated before, I will never tolerate again and I’m standing on that.

Today is 11/11
or 11/11 if you are using a completely fucking barbaric system of keeping track of dates
For all the unspeakable horrors happening to Palestinians right now, it's not the time for despair. Palestinian liberation has never been so close at hand; in fact, it is the Zionist entity that is desperate to maintain its colonial grip. Keep that in mind.
