Roy: Are we still on for tomorrow? Riza: You mean for our wedding? Roy: I’m just making sure.
"We are all connected. We can't work without each other." –Kim Kibum ♥♥♥♥♥
Me: rolling around in my wheelchair inside a store taking a bunch of photos
Customer: “Can I ask what you’re taking pictures of?”
Me: “I’m documenting my ADA violations case.”
Customer: “What violations?”
Me: Points out five violations I can see from where we are. Explains how to see patterns of ADA violations.
Customer: (in a hostile tone) “Well it can’t be *that* bad. I mean, *you* got in here.”
Me: yelling at someone for illegally parking their motorcycle in the access aisle for disabled parking
Complete stranger: comes up to me, gets right in my face and starts yelling at me for being mean to the motorcyclist
If you see a member of a minority class fighting a violation of their civil rights and you decide to throw yourself, uninvited, into the disagreement on the side of the person violating their civil rights, you are officially one of life’s villains and I hope you fall off a cliff.
It takes zero effort not to be an asshole and yet so many people still fail to do so.
I’ve been forced into making the ADA violations into a problem for the city here. Months ago when I asked them to correct some minor issues I was ignored, I thought. Turned out that they were trying to fix several issues and pointing out that it wasn’t an issue in many places. They only responded after they thought they fixed a few of the violations, saying that everything that I mentioned is not a violation and yet I was able to send them numerous pictures after they told me they were within code.
Here are a few.
I have begun to document and make the city aware of these issues.
These are serious problems for those of us with mobility issues. It happens nearly everyday of my life.
stay kind to eachother. i know its hard to only see how horrible the big picture is, but it's so much more unbelievably important to help the people you love and your community.
it's okay to grieve and weep and be sorrowful right now; healthy even. but at the end of the day it's the little things that keep hope alive, even as the world becomes darker and darker.
hug your loved ones. eat foods that you like to eat. listen to stories and laugh with your friends. care for your animals and gardens. give help when it's needed and when it's not needed. Accept help when it's needed and when it's not needed.
Do things that make you happy, and don't give up.
The only one oblivious on Mo Dao Zu Shi is Lan Xichen. His best bro was a psychopath, you can’t get less denser than that.
I need you all to understand that WenZhou literally gave up everything and chose to be with each other for eternity. And I don’t mean that in an exaggerated way, when I say eternity, I really do mean eternity.
To save Zhou Zishu, Ye Baiyi taught Wen Kexing the art form that allowed himself to live for so many years without aging. However, nothing comes without a price, especially when we’re talking about attaining something close to immortality. In this case, the sacrifice is that the practitioner is pretty much confined to living in areas of extreme cold and they can only feed off on ice and snow as human food would deteriorate their body (yes, that’s why Ye Baiyi’s hair started turning white, he’s tired of living for so long and wants to end it all so he’s been eating a lot of food).
If they can maintain this restrictive way of living, then they pretty much live forever, with no end in sight (per Wen Kexing’s own words).
After Wen Kexing explains this to him, A-Xu makes the following comment:
“To live like that, or to die right here… I’ll have to seriously weight [the pros and cons].”
This is an important comment because recall, this is the man who willingly nailed 7 nails into his body in exchange for 3 years of freedom, that’s how much he values being free.
And yet, even though his words appear to indicate that he needs to consider his options, it seems more like he’s already made up his mind and he’s just teasing Wen Kexing at this point because to Zhou Zishu, all the freedom in the world means nothing to him when compared to the choice of more time than he could ever ask for with Wen Kexing.
That being said, you might remember the following scene from episode 14, where Zhou Zishu said that he’d rather live freely for 10 days than spend 10 years living against his own will.
Originally, I understood this scene as highlighting the importance of physical freedom to Zhou Zishu; however, now I realize I was wrong. The wording here is so important because his choice at the end of episode 36 isn’t out-of-character or something that goes against his previous claim from episode 14. If anything, it reinforces it because to him, choosing eternity with Wen Kexing IS his own will.
To Zhou Zishu, being able to roam the world and enjoy all the liquor and food it has to offer is just materialistic freedom. Being physically constrained to one location is not living against his own will, nor is it “losing his freedom” because true freedom is the option to choose where he wants to be and to him, where Wen Kexing is is where he wants to be.
This is supported by the following comment made in the special episode:
“The two have been fighting for a whole lifetime. When immortals start fighting, who knows when it’ll end.”
This implies that Zhou Zishu and Wen Kexing have forever on their hands, which they spend a lot of sparring.
If they have forever, that means that they willingly gave up roaming the human realm and chose to stay in a place of extreme cold, feeding on nothing but ice and snow.
Together.
Forever.

love it how it's repeatedly implied that wei ying doesn't have the best memory of his past life but that motherfucker still somehow remembered the song wangji played while he was completely delirious and passing out.

The Untamed / Mo Dao Zu Shi / The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation
One of my fave things about Wei Ying is that when he fantasized about living with Lan Zhan, he imagined Lan Zhan staying home and mending clothes and cooking and cleaning and just generally waiting for Wei Ying to get back. Because Wei Ying imagined that he would go out and hunt or fish or farm. Wei Ying’s dirty fantasy was that Lan Zhan would live a domestic life with him where he provided food (at least ingredients).
It will never stop being funny that, in the WangXian dynamic, the man who is rumoured to have had sex with so many women as well as had virgins (for their blood? For the sex? For fun? Who knows? Have a virgin!) just hanging around, he fantasized about having a domestic life and farming and fishing. And the “Light Bearing Lord” who came from a respected family and is known as cold and standoffish and feared as much as he’s respected, he fantasized about sex eight times a day with his husband.
It’s hilarious! But, it is also terribly sad!
Wei Ying just wants a home. A place he can go where someone is waiting for him. A place that he can go to and the someone waiting for him is happy that he’s there. A place where he can relax and have fun and his idea of fun is fishing, hunting, and farming. A place where he’s allowed to just be himself, no pretending necessary, he can just exist and have someone exist by his side in harmony.
And then, while I’m thinking about this, I remember that my actual favourite thing from the book is when Wei Ying sits on Little Apple and has Lan Wangji pull the reins because he remembers his mom sitting while his dad pulled the reins. And he thinks about how great it would be if they had a kid so that the kid could sit on Lan Zhan’s shoulders like he sat on his dad’s shoulders. And he recreates this scene, this innocuous scene and it makes him so happy and Lan Zhan doesn’t even question for a milisecond why Wei Ying wants him to do this after he realizes that it makes Wei Ying happy.
They just… am love each other… so much… for so long… and they… they… they are they and that is wonderful…
