It was just the gift that kept on giving, wasn’t it? These scientists doing their best to bring all sorts of interesting people into the city, and now? Oh now there was just another wonderful person in this city!

“Ah… Willow!”

Survivors, ah, the survivors he remembered. So long ago, so many times before. What was it like watching someone live and die over and over again? Well, all that mattered was just enjoying that fact, a chance of seeing things again.

“Now isn’t this such a wonderful surprise!”

The feeling of a shiver crawling up her back was all too familiar, and it made her heart drop when she heard that voice.

No.  

No, she’d been taken - saved - from Maxwell’s horrifying tyranny.  Brought to a strange city that was dark and odd but nothing compared to the shadowy hell she’d escaped.

Thinking on it later, she might realize it’s no different being here, under the observation of the scientists.  But here she was merely being observed.

There, there was always a threat looming.  And it was because of him.

“Maxwell.”

Willow’s body tensed and she took a step away.  Reflexively, her hand went to rest in her pocket.  The one with her lighter.  

“Why are you here?”
