Maka was kidnapped. They never showed their faces or told her what they want beyond a speaker telling her to “show her abilities.”
The collar around her neck shocked her. It does more than just suppress her powers. Yay.
Maka got up as holograms approached her. Oh, well. Might as well get out some energy before she figures out how to get out of here.
The first faceless five go down with ease.
Then the speaker turns on again, “Good. Continue.”
The faceless holograms disappeared. Maka stood ready.
Nothing could’ve prepared her for what appeared next.
Beba — or well a hologram version of her — stood there.
Maka paused and that was all the hologram of her friend needed before moving in.
The hologram kicked her. She hit the wall. Hard.
“What is this?” Maka demanded.
“Problem, Spider-Girl?” The voice mocked from the speaker.
“We keep track on potential leverage…or targets.”
That got Maka standing up straight and glaring at the speaker. “You stay away from my friend.”
“Prove we don’t need her, Miss Akana.”
She looked back to the hologram. She couldn’t do it but the thought of real Beba being here and hurt scared her too much.
The hologram approached but didn’t stand a chance this time.
“Maka.” Hologram-Beba said as she went down.
Maka reached for her but then the hologram vanished.
“Don’t worry.” The voice said in a mock gentle voice. “We’ll work on that.”
