hey guys project hail mary isn’t dead right??? because I just rewatched it and I really really love eva stratt because she is sososo unbelievably nuanced and incredible. she was the scapegoat, the antagonist in the story because she *had to be.* I know it’s been said a billion times over but I just can’t get over it. AND I think the most heartbreaking part of it is she really, *truly* believed in the mission. she gave every member of the crew every single thing they asked for and needed. she cared about the people, she cared about the mission, she cared about *everything,* but it was easier for her to be the “bad guy” even though she’s anything but. she goes to prison for this cause that she believes in so much. she lays down her own morality in favor of saving the world. Stratt was an antagonist, I think, but she was never a bad guy.
“you might see this is me betraying you, but this is actually me believing in you” and IT WAS. Grace may have hated her for the rest of his life, and he would be justified in doing so, but goddamn she wasn’t lying.
