Please vote for the manhwa female lead you dislike the most.
Navier-The remarried empress
Ariadne-Sister in this life i will be the queen
Hestia-For my dedicated favorite
Siche-The shards of broken glass slipper
Aristia-The abandoned empress
Hari-Beware of the brothers
Aria-The villainess turns the hourglass
Penelope-Death is the only ending for the villainess
Calliope-Lady baby
Reinhardt-I tamed my ex husband mad dog
Lariette-I thought my time was up
Helga-The real daughter is back
I tried to include every controversial female lead, or at least those who receive a noticeable amount of hate.
Important note: I didn't include Ariana from Princess Jewel because she would have won with 100% of the votes anyway lol.
It was very difficult to choose an option, especially between Ariadne and Navier; both are such bad people that it's hard to know who is the worst.

How gorgeous!!
All she ever wanted to be was Usagi Tsukino.
But Fate decided she would always be Serenity.
Akio finally gets his revolutionary armor re-design. Based loosely off the ‘erect’ armor famously worn by King Henry VIII (among others, google it). Akio doesn’t really wear his armor though because he’s a Fallen Prince. Plus he can’t seem to keep his clothes on, what a douche-nozzle! Agh! I think that’s it for the Utena re-designs. I might take on Ruka or the Black Rose Saga but not for now!!
Revolutionary redesign for Utena’s Himemiya Anthy - she doesn’t get armor though, she gets a wicked Victorian dress. This was frustrating to work on because on 2 separate occasions I’d fudged up the lace on her sleeves by either deleting it, or duplicating and nudging art on the same layer so all of that had to be redrawn. Also redrew her hair about 3x and got very frustrated. This feels like it got overworked and just needs to be done. On to the last guy.
This took a lot longer to finish than I wanted because I got slammed with the flu these past two weeks. But here’s Kaoru Miki gettin his revolutionized armor re-design on. I think I’ll finish all these up with 2 more re-designs (Akio ‘n Anthy) x_x
Calling this one done - Nanami from Revolutionary Girl Utena gets her revolutionary armor make over. And she’s definitely the type to have fashionable/non-functional stuff!
Tragic Juri, finally colored in with her revolutionary armor. We’ve all been there. That childhood unrequited love. Where you fall REAL hard for your really…straight best friend.
Sorry, Juri.
Mikage joins the Revolutionary armor upgrade. Such a prickly guy, with his Black roses and seminar.
Similarity to Utena’s armor is most definitely on purpose.
Hey Saionji, nice of you to join the party. Captain of the Kendo team gets his Revolutionary Armor on.
Touga gets some Revolutionary armor treatment too! His is based on Napoleon’s cavalry. He’s all about riding those wild horses huehuehe.
…I think Saionji or Mikage will be next because I can visualize those a lot faster than some of the other Utena characters.
These are seriously fun to come up with and are doing wonders to momentarily take my mind off the rest of what’s going on in the world…
There we go - bigger file this time. Revolutionary Girl Utena re-design with some revolutionary armor. I’m gonna take a stab at attempting to redesign a few other characters with some armor designs as a lil side project!
Sorry for my English, it's going to be deep meaning syndrome now.
Disclaimer - I don't hate Christianity, I don't exalt Hinduism over Christianity, I'm generally an atheist. I'm just weaving anime moments and references with religious motifs in their most horrific form. And I recently read The Mists of Avalon, and it made its mark.
To begin with, I express my unnecessary opinion. People who add Anthy to the line "evil with a bit of goodness" will not ascend (I'm kidding, but I'm offended), she is literally the main victim of the series and cannot be evil, because she tried to at least passively resist the system that forces her to die over and over again for the selfish desires of the youngsters and her brother around her. The fact that she is a "witch" is not an argument, because this is the stigma that was put on her, and not the real essence. There was nothing "witchy" about her act, only concern for her loved one, which both the prince and the people interpreted as a desire to annoy everyone. Bride, witch - these are the labels that have been put on her in the existing anime system, because IT IS PROFITABLE. IF SHE IS A WITCH, THEN NO ONE WILL SAVE HER, IF SHE IS A BRIDE, THEN WE GET A PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE FIGHTING FOR THE POWER THAT SHE BESTOWS. AND IF SHE IS ALL TOGETHER, THEN INSTEAD OF A PERSON, EVERYONE WILL SEE HER AS A TOOL FOR ACHIEVING DIVINITY, NOT PAYING ATTENTION TO WHETHER SHE FEELS ANYTHING AT ALL)))
Akio is the main culprit in all this, the school board is the indirect culprits, in fact they torture an innocent girl over and over again, this cycle repeats over and over again. And her desire to shit on these people is absolutely justified, even if it's under Akio's manipulation. And again. Manipulation. She can't say no because she might get hurt even more than before)0)
OK? Ok.
And I also can't blame people for not diving into of Hinduism, of course, but it's still a shame, because outside the labels of the Anthy system, it's literally the embodiment of Parvati and her other forms. "The rose bride (a symbol of evil and power) is in every girl" is literally "A piece of Kali is in every woman." The most popular myth with Parvati is about her 108 rebirths, where she searches for Shiva after self-immolation and gets closer to him with each new life. Anthy also sacrifices herself for her "Shiva" and is reborn every time after, ahem, graduation from the Othori Academy. However, in her case, this is rather a reinterpretation of this myth, because despite the obvious references, Parvati seeks Shiva's heart again, and Anthy refuses her prince because she can no longer suffer unrequited for him and calls another to save her. And xs it seems to me that it was well beaten.
AND NOW WE COME TO THE PART "DEEP MEANING SEARCH SYNDROME".
And I also have a completely different idea, based on the fact that Shiva criticized Parvati for HER DARK SKIN COLOR, WHICH IS KIND OF GOOD FOR HINDUS. THIS IS THEIR USUAL SKIN COLOR. And then she brightens up with some kind of blessing.
And you know. this basically explains why Akio fucks only fair-skinned girls (Anthy is an exception, it's just a way to show that he dominates her + he takes revenge on her for losing her strength), and generally marries a blonde with blue eyes.
With my deep meaning search syndrome, I can also link the colonization of India to this, because Anthy and Akio are obviously Indians, but the whole thing happens at a European-style academy, where, oddly enough, Europeans study. Hinduism is not a feminist religion, there is a lot of shit there, but strangely enough, women are given more SCREEN TIME AND POWER, the same shaktism seems to exist, and in the texts you can find a lot of ideas of gender equality, in addition to patriarchal attitudes. The same Parvati slash Kali slash Durga, to which, as I said, there are references in the character of Anthy himself.
In Europe, the main religion is Christianity, which can be tied to the system of princes, princesses and witches in general, how to do shit.
Anyway, in my head this is a story not only with an obvious feminist agenda, but with a religious-feminist agenda and how Akio turns to where the wind blows and switches to the European system, thus building his academy, rejecting the ideas of his native culture and Anthy, depriving women of any functions other than "sit Wait for your man, have children, and keep quiet about your real feelings." He denies the power of women, it is unprofitable for him to recognize the power of his sister, because then it will turn out that without her blessing he is an empty place. And a system based on "Christianity" will suit as well as possible, Anthy can be made out to be a whore of Babylon.
Sorry, O-She is completely fucked up, I'm not going to do this anymore, really.
LISTEN PLEASE--
In fact, I think a lot about the fact that Anthy gave Akio her power to begin with, her "blessing," so that he could perform feats and save princesses. However, when she saw that he could not handle this power, she took it back and sacrificed herself, incurring the wrath of the people. However, Akio still believes that she took his power away, even though it was always rightfully hers. It was always the power of the goddess Parvati, represented by Anthy, and it was the power of Kali's mother, which no man had any right to possess. And the more Akio tried to regain this power, the more Anthy hid in her coffin. I swear, the only reason she didn't take Akio's head and put it on her belt of skulls was because she held him dear until the end.
I've been thinking about this a lot. Tridevi as different incarnations of Anthy sounds delicious to me. I really love the Hindu goddesses, and I love reading about Hinduism in general, so I'm excited to find a character where I can apply this knowledge.
A god that dictates seemingly arbitrary and oddly specific rules to its followers, not because it demands absolute blind obedience, but because it's fascinated by human creativity and wants to see what kind of rules-lawyering the followers come up with in order to circumvent the rules, or how to interpret them in a way in which they can still abide by the rules when the letter of the law would be impossible or highly inconvenient to obey.
Like the command says "You Must Not Wet Your Hands With This Specific Substance", and there's one faction that has decided that since it's practically impossible to not ever touch the thing, your hands won't be touching it if you're wearing gloves. Another sect has decided that it doesn't count if you only handle the substance when it's frozen solid, so your hands don't get wet from touching it. A third one has figured out how to obtain or produce some substance that is essentially identical in every way, but has a slightly different chemical structure, so it's not the same substance.
And then there's the ones who figured out how to handle the entire process by only using their feet.
