No return point available | Lowell | CH6 | Trial | RE: Michi, Shinpei, ATTN: Everyone, Tousen
“Yeah, I heard it - and trust me, that tidbit didn’t escape me, but fuck if I let this drag me down again. Let me indulge myself in the positive emotions I’m feeling right now, ‘kay?”
Lowell knew that he came across as a hypocrite, but right now, he couldn’t care less. At last, there was something that he could be happy about, no matter how irrational it seemed; he wouldn’t let it get dampened immediately just because he was supposed to be angry?
(He was angry so many times--)
Then again, getting an answer to his question did put a damp to his mood - seemed like he’d been right on the money, after all. Why did it always happen when he didn’t want to be in the right for once? Damnit--
“... I see.”
For a moment, he simply stood there, eyes cast downwards. He gritted his teeth, before lifting his head up again to meet the gaze of the others.
“... Doesn’t seem like as if any of them can tell us more than they already did. So, with the traitor out in the open, we should move on to the mastermind. I mean, sure, we could talk about our own situation as well, but... I dunno, doesn’t feel like as if we’d get much outta it. All we know is that we’ve been kidnapped by someone ‘cause we’re Hope’s Peak students with the same health condition. Dunno what kinda condition we all seem to apparently share though - unless someone got some intel on that in their own truth room. And there’s also the whole virtual reality stuff going on here, but that ain’t gonna help us getting out of here by just knowing that.”
Lowell shrugged.
“So, regarding the mastermind... right now, we know that they oughta be among the living, ‘cause they were the only one who could’ve possibly incriminated everyone with personal belongings. Gotta say, that was a really dumb move from them, but hey, they made it easier for us to detect them that way. Together with the whole light hair deal, the suspect pool becomes pretty small... right now, that would mean either Ichini, me or if you wanna stretch it, Akimura-kun.”
“... Aaaaaaah, fuck it! I hate beating around the bush like this, so I’ll just say it loud and clear; I think it’s Ichini who not only killed Modegi and Aso, but also took over this mutual killing game for one reason or another.”
With that bold accusiation, he stared directly at the director with narrowed eyes. He gripped the podium in front of him, not done talking yet.
“I might not have any other definite evidence safe for the hair, but think about it; didn’t you all found it odd how the “I” in Carnival was missing? It always puzzled me, ‘cause I couldn’t see any sense in that - but what if this has been a subtle hint all along? What if the “I” was used to hint at the mastermind’s name? Like, for example, “Ichini”.”
“And even if that ain’t the case, what if the “I” was left out to... make the last case dramatic? Just think about it; there really wasn’t a reason for the mastermind to go as far as to string Aso up as the “I”. It makes even less sense to film it - unless this might serve as possible research material for a new movie.”
Granted, he only thought of this recently and he may spin this too much to favour his theory, but hell, it was either ride or die at this point - there was no turning back anymore.
“... Oh and before you can possibly spill my real name and claim that you’ve found that info in your truth room or anything, so you can discredit me or whatever, I’ll-- I’ll just be honest and say that my family name also begins with an “I”. It’s Inoue.”
“... So, what do you have to say about all that, Ichini?”
