“That’s alright. Even the smallest or weirdest detail is usually what helps crack the case.” Joe smirked a little. “Don’t worry, I’ll be a little less annoying than the DPD is. Or more annoying. It kind of varies day by day.”
Thomas had to physically restrain himself from rolling his eyes, but his LED shone pink for a moment or two. Honestly, the poor man was too hard on himself, though he could sort of understand where Joe was coming from. As he allowed Joe to interview Ms. Blackwood, Thomas let his eyes wander, taking in the physical layout of the store itself, taking note of the various people wandering in and out of the doors. Many of them looked like stereotypical “geeks”, but he supposed that was just the aesthetics of many who enjoyed this kind of thing.
Eventually, Joe wrapped up his interview with Vivian and was given permission to talk to a few of the employees, leaving Thomas by the desk with the woman. Curiously, he scanned her for a moment. She was lacking in sleep, and she had more caffeine in her system than what was healthy, but at least it was a smaller amount than Joe already had from his energy drinks.
“It shouldn’t be long,” Thomas said, offering the woman a kind smile. “Joe is very proficient at his job. He’s been a detective since his teenage years and has a very high success rate.”
"Somehow, it wouldn’t surprise me if you said that to all the ladies. Or guys. Whatever you’re into.“ Viv certainly wouldn’t judge. Particularly since she was into both sexes and androids. He just came off a little flirty. Probably just friendly. The interview went well enough though and she didn’t at all mind having the investigator interview her other employees.
Left alone with his android, her gaze shifted to him, quirking a brow. A unique model. An attractive one at that. Not that it was particularly surprising. Androids were never made to be anything but enticing. This one? Modeled after someone most definitely. Looking over the android once more, she nods. "So I’ve heard.” She had worked for CyberLife at one point after all.
"I have no doubts. What about you though? What’s your story?“ They had a bit of time to kill and Viv was curious. Had he been human, she might have hit on him. Another person’s android? Definitely not.
Her comment was briefly puzzling, and Thomas could feel his eyebrows furrow slightly as he tried to understand her meaning. “I am a prototype,” he said. “FH300. But I’m afraid my programming is more or less classified, I cannot share my functions without Joe’s clear verbal consent.”
It worked that way with most android models, but Thomas was a special case. Being made for therapy, more or less, he was under strict lock and key, even to human standards, to not share any of Joe’s medical history, mentally, physically or emotionally, with anyone unless Joe said it was alright. Thomas couldn’t even share the information with Joe’s parents; not like he could even if it had been an emergency, it wasn’t like Laura and Fenton could stand to even see him. Any visit Joe did to the original Hardy household had to be done without Thomas, and he understood why, even if it made him anxious.
Somebody: What was your original function?
Thomas: To keep Joe from killing himself, either directly or indirectly, after the devastating and sudden death of his elder brother during a case.
Somebody: And how’s that been going for you?
Thomas: While his emotional health has improved quite a bit, and his mental health has managed to improve as well, Joe is still incredibly impulsive and danger prone. But he hasn’t done anything drastic in four hours, so today may be a light day.
*distant crash*
Thomas: ...Nevermind.

Joe: *eating an entire party sized bag of barbecue chips*
Thomas: *eye twitching, LED yellow* Pick your battles, Thomas, pick your battles….
Thomas Before Deviating: Joe, staying in bed all day with little lighting and barely any food is detrimental to your health, mentally and emotionally, not to mention physically. May you please get out of bed, and I can prepare you a light breakfast so that it doesn’t upset your stomach?
Thomas After Deviating: I’m going to drag you out of bed by your ankles and throw you down the stairs, don’t test me. And if I have to shove an entire apple down your throat, I will.
