Growing accustom to Wonderland proved it’s difficulties. With so many things to see and new faces to meet, Flayn was eager. As well as nervous. While she was slowly getting used to it, making new friends wasn’t exactly a skill of hers. It never was. But one must push themselves out of a comfort zone to grow as a person. So that’s what Flayn did. 

She stood her ground outside of the Clamaway Apartments. Making a promise to herself she will try to befriend the next person she sees.

Chise left her apartment a piece of paper in hand. She needed to get supplies for her own personal magic practice as well as some things the ssa cannot seem to order. She wrote in big letters GET RECEIPTS on the top so she would not forget. 

She carried a few empty grocery bags as she made her way out of the building. She saw what looked like to be a girl with green hair who seemed a bit sheepish but determined? maybe?  

“Um are you alright?” She asked in her quieter voice as she walked towards her. Was she waiting for someone? Chise was unsure.

Flayn turned to face the owner of the voice. Locking eyes with a girl with crimson red hair. Flayn blinks, the mini speech she had prepared suddenly vanished from her mind. She clears her throat, adjusting her posture to give a quick bow. 

“Ah! I am perfectly fine! Thank you for your concern. My name is Flayn! What’s yours?” She said, full of energy. Flayn’s face wears a smile.

The Poor Kitchen

The outdoors always brought a smile on Flayns face. The wind in her hair, the smell of flowers and grass, the sounds of small creatures living their daily lives. It was something she learned to cherish, something no one should take advantage of. And sometimes, one must reconnect with nature. Flayn hummed a tune as she enjoyed her alone time, sitting on a patch of grass. Completely unbothered.

Annette had heard about the Ace Farmers Market in Belinia, which supposedly sells the best fruits around. Good thing she had always been an early riser, since she’d needed to take an early train here. She needed some fresh strawberries for some strawberry shortcake, ordered with extra strawberries. Great taste, she thought.

After leaving the market with way more fresh produce than she actually needed, Annette decided to take a stroll through the park since it would be a little while before the next train back to Cestrelle arrived.

The Walk of Hearts Flower Park certainly lived up to its name: there were beautiful flowers as far as the eye could see! Each and every one was unique in its own way, and in the middle of it all…

Flayn flinched at the sound of her name being used. Expecting the worse, she prepared herself. Only to find Annette staring at her. Flayn tilts her head in confusion. ‘Am I going mad or is that Annette?’ She thought, trying to keep a settled reaction. But failing to do so. 

Flayn gives a small smile, standing up from her spot and dusting off any dirt from her dress. “Annette! Hello!” She says in her usual soft and cheerful voice. “I had no idea you were here as well! It’s very nice seeing a familiar face!”

She would also love the carousel! Flayn loves the idea of riding the horses, although she does wish they were wyverns instead.

Drawn Into The Book

How Flayn Arrived in Wonderland 

To say Flayn was being mildly supervised, would be an understatement. Of course, it was to be expected. A new moon had welcomed itself to Fodlan. With the events of the past moon requiring Flayn to take some time to recover, it hasn’t been easy. Luckily for her, Seteth had arranged a fishing tournament to be held at Garreg Mach. Despite the many arguments students made of the lack of preparation for the Battle of the Eagle and Lion. 

While Flayn enjoys having her alone time. She knows full well that being away from her brother for so long may cause some difficulties for him. She bid a farewell to her classmates at the pond and made her way towards Seteth’s office. The destination where the two promised to meet up at. While Flayn was occupied with fishing, Seteth was having tea with the professor. Something about how they waited a whole month for this, or whatever. 

Saying hello to the goddess on her journey, Flayn finally reached the room. But to her surprise, it was empty. “Brother?” Flayn spoke softly, closing the door behind her, stepping into the dim office. It wasn’t often the room was left unoccupied. Or be this messy. Stacks of books piled on the floor and the desk. Titles Flayn has never seen before. “Ah . . . These must be a collection of literature he hides away.” 

Her brother had a tendency of throwing books he deemed ‘inappropriate’ to the side. Far away from the student’s reach. And if Flayn was correct and these were in fact some of those books, her curiosity only bloomed. It’s not like Seteth was with Flayn to stop her. “Peaking in one won’t do too much harm . . .” 

With so many to choose from, where does one start? While Flayn scanned the room, she found a specific one that caught her attention. It almost seemed like the book was glowing. She hesitates, wrapping her hands around the spine, clearing off any dust from the cover. “Welcome to Wonderland? Seems like a child's tale . . . Perhaps a spellbook?”  

She opens the book in a flash, a gust of wind fills the room and blinding light emits from the pages. Flayn attempted to close it, but the force was too strong. And the next thing she knew,

She found herself in an unfamiliar environment. Definitely not in the comfort of her brother's office. Or Fodlan.
