Clair, having just spent the weekend at Pallet for an internship, was now making her rounds before heading back through the Indigo League passage to Johto. Though not expecting to see a certain someone on her trip, she had to approach the former Kantonese Champion to catch up~

"Well, well, who do we have here? Red, is that you?"

Fire had to take a second glance at the young woman in front of him. He hasn't heard the 'Red' nickname in a while. However, he didn't seem to recognize her entirely. Her confident presences seemed vaguely familiar to another person. Couldn't hurt to ask.

"Haven't heard that nickname in a while. Guess that's me. You look a little familiar.."

« Ω » He had to blink at the amount of people that were coming in and out of Viridian City. He wondered what the big buzz was about to warrent such a massive influx of people coming in. He watched at comfort of sitting by one of the benches.

"Professor Oak! 60 Entries in the Bag!" Without a moment notice as he opened the door with a pokedex in his hand (fleetingflames)

"WHOA! Fire, you startled me there!” Nearly having feel out of his seat from the determined male’s sudden entrance, Oak regained composure and scratched his head. “You should at least knock next time, I almost had a heart attack there!”  He quipped in a somewhat joking manner, approaching the trainer.

"You do, now? Come over here and let’s have ourselves a look!"

In one hand, Oak grasped the crimson gadget. The first thing that came into sight was entry no. #144, Articuno. Data analysis on the legendary Ice/Flying hybrid was complete, which could only mean that Fire captured the Pokemon. Eyes widened in disbelief, before even scrolling further, the shocked Professor slowly reared his head.

"Fire…" The trainer’s name escaped his aperture. Tone was of uncertainty, depending on how one interpreted it, it could either mean a positive or negative variation of shock. "That’s.. Articuno, isn’t it?” Oak asked rhetorically. It’s name was quite visible upon the miniscule screen.

     ”Yes! Eyes aren’t fooling you either, Professor." He nodded, pulling up a chair sitting next to him. He did have to admit that he too shared a similar reaction of the professor upon meeting the legendary bird pokemon in the very depths of the Seafoam Islands. He never imagined he’d succeed in capturing the creature ever in his life time as a trainer.

"Can someone fill me in on all this talk about Hoenn?"

     "Touko..?" He said in a curious tone. He had wonder what the young woman was still doing here in Kanto? He had assumed that she found her way to Vermillion City and hitched a ride back home? He soon approached her wondering what the story was.

Beth noticed that the Lapras seemed a bit nervous, so she smiled as she knelt down to pat Lily on the head. The Clawitzer closed her eyes for a moment and made a happy, bubbly sound before slowly swimming over to Maria.

"Clawitzer are native to Kalos," Beth explained, "so I wouldn’t be surprised if neither of you have seen one before. Lily here is pretty laid back most of the time, though, so no need to worry!"

She stepped back from the water and then sat down next to the other trainer. After crossing her legs, Beth rested her elbows on her knees and threaded her fingers together.

"My name’s Beth, by the way," she introduced. "Would you mind telling me yours…?"

     Maria soon swam over to the Clawizter. She tilted her head curiously. My what a giant claw this pokemon had. A soothing sound escaped the creature as its way of greeting itself towards the Clawitzer.

     "The dex doesn't have anything on Lily, so that rules it out.." He shrugged as he looked at the creatures giant claws reminded of Kingler species. He sat down with his hands hanging back behind him looking at Beth.

"Names Fire, Beth. Guess you are from Kalos?"

     "I will make no promises on that, Professor. I will try." He joked back with him as he flipped the dex open and handing it over so he could properly evaluate it hoping to get some direction as where to look next. On the screen for the most recent entry displayed a avian pokemon  with shimmering plumage coated from the icicles themselves.

☸ || “I wish I was lying. Kite’s gotten me into so much trouble with his swiping of everyone’s things that I really did almost get arrested” || ☸

"Yeah, he’s been like this ever since I received him. I thought it was normal with his ability but this is a little bit too much." || ☸

     "Seems its more interesting in keeping its paw on anything shiny when it can." He mused to himself. He was reminded of a pokemon that wasn't no longer with him had a similar habit. He shook his head trying to take his mind off such depressing thoughts.

     "How did you end up getting him anyway?" He asked looking at her.

"Well, might as well stay a while — lovely area, isn’t it?"

Beth nodded, then crouched down to offer the rest of the Poképuff to Lily. After swallowing it, the Clawitzer turned towards the boy’s Lapras curiously, and Beth glanced towards her as well.

"And it seems your Lapras has caught Lily’s attention, too!" She bridged her fingers together and smiled warmly. "What do you say they get to know each other?"

     "Sure is." He said as he motioned with his hands to have the water pokemon come towards him through the lake water. The Lapras nodded as she slowly made her way rather shy towards the other water pokemon. She hasn't seen the Clawizter species before so it made her nervous. Fire walked towards Lapras scratching behind her ears in attempt to ease her nerves.

     "Why not! Maria could use some time with other water pokemon!" He glanced back at the young woman before going to sit beside her.

"I didn't realize I have caught over 60 pokemon.. Hell I might a chance to complete the Kanto Pokedex if I keep it up.." He was intrigued liking that idea. At first he was skeptical when telling that to professor that he'd fill up the pages but he actually has a chance.
