Find me here! @fleurdementhe
Spill stars into my eyes
So I can see the wonders
That the world holds for me
Like a child who dreams
Of drifting among clouds
Gently cradling the wishes
They carry to sleep.
- wistfully
Pluck your eyes from this rose
For they will never see
The way you look so gently
And affectionately at me.
- pricked by a thorn
Tear out this heart
Donât let it beat
Quiet its murmurs
Go back to sleep.
Hush the nightmares
Silence the dreams
Cover your mouth
Hold in the screams.
One day weâll learn
That the warmth of the sun
Can be felt through the touch
Of our fingers clasped tightly.
Hold me close and
- donât let me go
There is some relief
To the passing thoughts
Before we fall asleep
Though morning may come
Pardoning eveningâs sorrow
Today, tonight, tomorrow.
- if only time stopped
Bottled words woven into thread
Lace knots tightly between each line
Forming a sentence from inside the head
A piece from within the authorâs shrine.
- parsing thoughts
Swallow the key but not the lock
To the words that you must find
Heard by none, not even myself
The answers I left behind.
If I told truths that sound like lies
Would you believe me all the same?
Or would you fall for every trick
And think itâs nothing but a game?
Youâve found the key but not the lock
What else is left to do?
Except sit and consider every answer
To the questions I asked of you.
- reluctance
Let sleeping bones burn in quiet anger
Smoldering in embers left to die
What is locked away seems to always find
A will ; a way ; a path to escape.
Donât speak another word
For what you find may be
The cats you killed
With curious intrigue
And an appetite for more.
- I know your secret
Each at the end of their knot
Twists the otherâs tightly wound
Around the base of their neck
You
You
It wouldâve been better
If you had never been
- words she said to me today
the weight of this undying devotion
is smothering a choked breath
behind pressed pillow
that canât seem to draw another
from this well buried deep
screams that reverberate
inside the ribbed cage
that no one can hear except
- words not spoken
Myopic vision smears solid lines
Muddling definite shapes into ill-defined blurs
And in the darkness they cannot distinguish
Monochromatic values from the ever looming shadows.
What hides in the corner of this poorly lit room
I cannot discern from sight alone
Whether I see the shape of a monster
Or the shape of manâs dreams manifest.
But with eyes closed there is no difference
Between the absence of light
And the back of my eyelids
So disappear from me until next time.
- let me sleep
Luckily they pass as one of the many
Who walk the streets as a blurred smear
Where one squints and cannot perceive
The actual shape of the body
Tumultuous troubles stir deep within
That paper skin layered over the heart
And barely hides the smoldering spirit
Weary of its own meager existence.
- ghosts in passing
Fearsome claws tear out my heart
And leave my arteries askew
Iâll paint a message in black and blue
Of a secret just for you.
Mourners will bereave my passing thoughts
As if to understand
Why countless veins cross mine and yours
While theirs are left unraveled.
Frenzied passages along countless pages
Tell tale of something forbidden
But take my eyes and see them through
This secret I have from me to you.
How do you keep on loving
Someone whoâs falling apart?
Your strength must number a million
In both your head and heart.
- iâm glad youâre still here
How can I live
If you keep pulling these strings?
Why are you making me walk
In the other direction?
I have no control
Over where I go
Please cut my strings
- donât lead me astray
