Pretty convenient that a lot of American students never learn that Einstein was a Jew who came to America and started the nuclear research after fleeing from the Nazis and having most of his research lost in the book burnings.
Or how much of his life and work was shaped by his autism, like how it was his biggest asset because it allowed him to think differently, but also his biggest hurtle because of all the abuse he received in school from teachers who labeled him as a dunce and told him he was stupid because of his disability. Which he proved wrong by discovering the theory of relativity because of his autism instead of in spite of it.
EVEN THOUGH THOSE ARE THE TWO MOST RELEVANT DETAILS OF HIS LIFE THAT EXPLAIN HOW AND WHY HE DID ALMOST EVERYTHING HE DID. But nah, Im sure diversity wasn’t relevant enough to be important in this situation.
Its almost like we have a biased school system that censors the accomplishments of marginalized groups to stop them from realizing that people like them have accomplished things.
He taught at Lincoln University after he was told black students couldn’t attend his lectures at other colleges and universities.
Article quote: “In 1946, Einstein, the Nobel Prize-winning physicist traveled to Lincoln University where he gave a speech in which he called racism “a disease of white people,” and added, “I do not intend to be quiet about it.” Lincoln was the first school in the United States to grant college degrees to blacks.”
Remembering someone who cared about education
I didn’t know this about Einstein, all I knew was crazy hair math man. It makes me sad that we never learn about his life.

That was her. PURE, LUCID, EVIL. I’d sleep all right with that on top of me.

People always make fun of butch women’s appearance, but some of those big, muscular, “unfeminine” women frequently plant their asses between other women and predatory men. I’m speaking about the butches who have shielded me and my friends from physical harrassment when we were young and drunk and visiting gay parties for the first time. I’m speaking about the butches who keep bathrooms a safe zone. I’m speaking about the butches whose lesbian rage is only outshone by their infinite compassion for baby dykes.
Fuck your butch hate.
A long time ago, back when I was “straight,” before my very imposing wife was even my girlfriend yet, some jerk pinned me up against the wall at a party.
I was like, “Go away,” with my eyes glued to the floor and my heart pounding, but he wouldn’t. My boyfriend stood by and watched and said nothing.
She said, “Hey, leave her alone, you jerk!” and the guy was like, “What are you gonna do to me? This isn’t your business.”
Very calmly, she put her beer down, rolled up her sleeves, cracked her knuckles, and started walking towards him.
He bolted. I was amazed and I said, “What WERE you gonna to do him?”
“Oh I dunno,” she said, “They always run off before I get there.”
Later that night she drove me home and I threw up on her car. She still drove up to visit me in the big lonely city when I came out a year later, and her car door still made a sticky sound when I opened it.
“Trust No Butch” my big toe.
Trust No Butch Love Every Butch
Yo I ALWAYS protect my friends (gay or straight) at clubs from creepy predators. I always allow them to call me their girlfriend just so they’ll go away. I’ll always stand behind or move closer to my friends if they’re getting bumped too much or touched inappropriately. I love the fact that I can use my identity to not only protect but scare off grown ass men ✌️
The only careers I’m interested in are handsome artist’s muse, worshipped goddess, burlesque queen, or mafia princess
I feel like I should make a post about this because it’s not something that’s very well-known, and that Americans in particular may need to know about given the uncertain state of our healthcare system at the moment. I’ve wanted to write this out for a while, It’s kind of a long post, so sorry about that!
If you have an emergency and have to go to the hospital, you’ll owe the hospital a lot of money. (I got into a car wreck and broke my ankle and my arm. My hospital bill was around $20,000)
You’ll also owe the ambulance provider, if you need one. (My ambulance bill was about $800)
You may get separate bills from the anesthesiologist or surgeon. (My anesthesiologist bill was $1,700)
You may need follow-up appointments. (My orthopedic surgeon billed me for the appointments and his surgery together and it was about $1,000)
You’ve also got to pay for medical equipment you need afterward, like crutches or a walking boot. (Mine cost about $75)
Altogether, I ended up with almost $24,000 in medical debt from one car accident. That’s a really scary number for someone like me who makes $10/hr at a 12 hour a week job.
I got my debt down to $1075 by making some phone calls and submitting some paperwork.
The first thing I did was contact the hospital. They don’t make it easy to find, but many hospitals (perhaps most hospitals?) have financial assistance programs for people who can’t afford medical bills. I don’t make a lot of money, and I have bills to pay, so they were able to help me. I called the billing department and asked if they had any assistance programs for low income people who can’t pay their bills. I had to call multiple times, and I got transferred in circles by people who didn’t know what I was talking about. Finally, I got an appointment with someone in “Eligibility Services” (I don’t know what other hospitals call it, if it’s something different). I had to bring my pay stubs and copies of all of my bills. When I got to the hospital for the appointment, nobody knew what I was talking about so I had to wander a little to find where I needed to go. I spoke with the guy in Eligibility Services, and I waited for a decision on how much of the bill they would forgive. A month later, I got a call telling me it was totally forgiven.
I did the same thing for my ambulance bill and my anesthesiologist, but the process was a LOT easier. I just had to mail some paperwork and it was totally forgiven.
I didn’t bother with the medical equipment suppliers, since the bills came from separate companies and I didn’t feel like going through the process twice for $75. I was assured at the hospital that they had similar programs for debt forgiveness, so I could have probably avoided paying that too.
The only thing I couldn’t get taken care of was the surgeon/follow-up appointment cost, but they were able to put me on a no-interest payment plan.
Medical debt is scary because it’s something that can come from stuff that’s already really scary. I didn’t need the burden of $24,000 in debt on top of trying to get around on a crutch with a broken arm (it’s not easy, believe me!).. but I can’t imagine what it would be like with a bigger debt or a more severe medical emergency. I see lots of people in even worse trouble than I was in, both financially and medically. Please know that there are options for you when that GoFundMe doesn’t do enough. Even if your income is higher than mine, it’s worth a shot even for partial debt forgiveness.

Repeat after me: - Veganism is not affordable - Veganism is not cruelty free - Veganism is not the best choice for everyone
Repeat after me -I’m an idiot and wrong. -Veganism can be made affordable. -Veganism is fucking cruelty free. That’s what it’s all about. - Veganism is the best choice for everyone, if everyone did it. -I’m a fucking asshole for making this completely wrong text post and should shut the hell up now.
Exploiting undocumented immigrants, and other workers is cruelty free? Nearly 500,000 children as young as six harvest 25 percent of US crops.
But I guess brown people don’t fucking matter.
People are literally starving in South America because all the Quinoa crop is being exported mainly for white vegans who want to live “cruelty-free” but don’t care about brown people as much as they do about animals.
plus, 4 of the 8 most common food allergies (soy, wheat, peanuts, and tree nuts) are common vegan substitutes.
i would literally starve to death if i couldn’t eat cheese or meats because my body cannot process nuts as they are too rough on my intestines and cause inflammation
Plus there are vegan articles floating around decrying the use of honey, even though the production and harvest of honey by responsible beekeepers doesn’t hurt the bees at all and is not exploitative, and that misinformation hurts the honey industry, which is TRYING TO SAVE BEES FROM EXTINCTION.
Seeing as many vegans don’t think (or don’t care) about the human cruelty aspects of veganism, I’ll add that many animals are killed and habitats destroyed to produce arable crops. Rabbits are regularly shot and killed to protect crops. If a farmer has a particularly bad rabbit problem i.e. a large, established warren, they may use a gas bomb like the Rodenator to destroy the warren and kill or relocate the rabbits. Also works well to kill rats and moles. Harvesting crops kills or destroys the homes of many small animals like mice. Even organic farming uses pesticides to kill insects. Poison is used to protect stored food such as grains from rats and mice. Pest control is essential for food production. Without it farmers worldwide simply would not be able to meet the demand for food.
It is literally impossible to live cruelty free in modern western society. Animals have been used as resources, exterminated as pests, and harmed indirectly by humans for millenia. Humans have exploited each other probably since before we were recognisable as humans. There’s also the environmental footprint of producing and importing food.
All we can do is reduce harm. Being vegan does not mean you are living a cruelty free life.
🌊🏊Sharks are nice!🏄
Since its summertime and people are gonna be hitting the beach to swim and/or surf, i decided to make this informative shark post. In the media sharks are portrayed as mean bloodthirsty and vicious creatures. Such as in movies like “The Shallows” and “Jaws”. But are sharks really that vicious? The answer is no. No they are not. Sharks are really nice and sweet creatures. I am a surfer and have been bitten a couple of times by sharks but i still know the truth… sharks aren’t evil creatures. You may be thinking “but you’ve been bitten by one! How can they not be evil!?” Well the answer to that my bro is simple, its all a misunderstanding. You see, sharks dont have great eyesight. They are blind as fuck. So they rely on other senses to find food. They see the silhouette of us surfers on our boards and they see it from a below angle and they think we kind look like seals, their favourite meal (as seen in the pics above). So they take just a nibble to see what the fuck we are. Once they realize we aint a seal, they go away. Why? Sharks HATE the taste of human meat. We disgusting af to them. Thats why the majority of shark attacks are just sharks bitting once and then leaving. They just wanted to know what the fuck we are bro. Its a case of mistaken identity. A misunderstanding. Have there been shark attacks where the shark bites more than once? Yeah. But thats rare and it only happens if the shark is either (1) feeling threatened or provoked. Or (2) very hungry. Like, i mean STARVING.
Sharks just wanna eat but they dont wanna eat us. Its just a simple misunderstanding. As you can see in the photos above, people can swim with sharks and nothing happens. Its totally fine my dudes. So there you have it, sharks are homies, not hostile.

MORE INFO: The likelihood of being attacked by a shark is thought to be 1 in 11.5 million, and only 4 or 5 people in the entire world die each year from shark attacks.[1].
