“because, I get to first,” she turns to hals with a devious smile, remembering a time she asked Ollie the same thing about a little baby haley quite fondly, “I want to figure out a time she gets to open presents with roy, nate, nora, and you. whoever we can get in a room at once, I want it,” she proclaims earnestly, shooting a warm smile at her daughter before she walked up to get a free sample of cheese, bouncing as she brings three back for them all. thanking Thea, who proceeded to hold her aunt’s hand as they walked, artemis continued, “you know, nora was saying Ollie never got her a pony, and I’ve never been so tempted to get someone a pony before,” to which Thea shoots her aunt a wide-mouthed, wide-eyed look, gasping and tapping Haley wildly, as if she had definitely already shared with her aunt she wanted a pony, too. Artemis of course stared ahead with a smirk, “do you know anyone else that would want a pony hals? i sure dont. but if i’m gunna get her one, i wanna know before.”
“that’s no reason why we can’t both,” haley laughed. she could never imagine herself in arty’s position: mother to so many amazing kids, being a cool aunt however that was a role she was destined to fall into. “well when you manage to wrangle the others into figuring something out let me know. i’ll be there, i wouldn’t miss it,” whatever discomfort the holidays might have brought she was more than willing to handle it for thea’s sake. she laughed then shaking her head. “dad always said they were too messy even for us,” she can’t help but raise her eyebrows at thea then, playing along. “usually i’d spite oliver whereever i could, but i can’t help but think he was onto something there,” grinning she turned her attention to arty then purposefully ignoring the little girl’s excitement. “a pony? hmmm... y’know there might have been some one but i can’t quite just remember,”
