Like many adventurers, Daee spent much of her early life as part of band of heroes fighting for an unsure future. Through sacrifices made to further the cause, Daee has become a host to an ancient at the time slumbering spirit, though she was unaware of this at the time. When it was time for the decisive battle, unfortunately, Daee had fallen in battle - despite her best efforts.

When the world had fallen dark - light awoke her once more. In between planes, not where she came from, not the Abyss, or the Faewild - but the crevasses where they connect. The spirit within her, and herself at odds, where one belonged the other did not. The world around collapsing, rejecting their very presence.

And in a moment of deja-vu, she awoke once more but now in a familiar place. The same spot where she once lost her arm, where she felt herself bleed out, where she felt cold and alone - now lush with flowers and grass much longer than she recalled. The world all around had changed, for what was minutes within the in-between, was decades within where she came from. Long gone were the old wars, the heroes who fought by her side, and herself forgotten. What is left is finding a new purpose, tasting the future that she once paved but could not walk, making new memories with new people, and learning about who it is that slumbers within her breast and the reason she lives once more.

was performing in top venues by 16.  

pioneered “swinging the classics” and made the equivalent of a million dollars a year doing it.  

was the first person of color to have their own national TV show.  

went to Hollywood but refused to be cast as a “singing maid.”  Demanded and got control over her casting, her wardrobe, and how footage featuring her was cut.  

refused to perform in segregated venues and led charges for integration in several northern cities, notably Spokane.  

She was brought down by the House Committee on Unamerican Activities, and has been largely forgotten.  But she was a sorcerer, and a hero.
