Thinking about Hee Joo actually makes me a lot more bitter than people probably think. The truth is, the writer created a character who would have otherwise been essential to the story, and simply left her in the background with nothing to do.

And I’ve mentioned it a few times now, but its just frustrating because she was so much more.

She gave up her own dreams to look after her family. She raised her younger siblings, ran a hostel, worked as a tour guide, and spent years paying off her family’s debt.

I really didn’t like how the drama ended in the first place. This just reinforces the fact that, Hee Joo, an incredible hard working female lead, was left with money she earned from selling her Hostel and pining for the love of her life that poofed.

There was a detective who tried to look into these Gangnam clubs (mainly the drugs) in 2010 and he was injured in a car crash while trying to take evidence to another detective he trusted in Busan (not in Gangnam Precinct, which shows you how corrupt seoul police are honestly). He went to the bathroom at the hospital, disappeared, and was found with rope marks on his neck in a freshwater reservoir with seawater in his lungs. His death was ruled a suicide due to problems with his girlfriend by his own precinct. HIS OWN PRECINCT. Detective Lee won awards for his diligence in the police force for three years straight prior to his transfer to Gangnam.

This is bigger than a kpop idol scandal. Seungri has YG and Naver behind him (Naver chairman’s son is a DJ at Burning Sun). YG and other conglomerates are already speculated to have been involved in the bribe and corruption scandals from Park Geun Hye’s impeachment and even before. Chaebol bribes are a common theme in Korean media - and not without reason. STFU about your poor boys being slammed by the media. The reporter who brought this whole thing to light passed her evidence to the corruption agency RATHER THAN police because this is not just about some idols doing crimes - this is about those behind them bribing the police force and police covering up drug and sex trafficking. Covering up murder.
