Where should I start with this one 🙈

This was my first time making a clamshell box, and I decided to make it into a gringotts vault!! I found the safe box at Homesense as a (very) badly made faux-book and brought it home, took it apart and rebuilt the box around it. The box cover is made into the mechanisms of a Gringotts vault! It took ages (and my sanity) to weed it, i almost gave up 12 times 🦐

Coming up with a riddle for the lock combination was also a lot of fun! The unboxing experience was turned into a full sidequest!

Another thing: the safe looks bigger than it is, but its lock is very thick, so the book I made for it needed to be very VERY skinny to fit. It was a challenge to make a 194,575 word fic fit within less than 200 pages so, it quickly turned a typeset for ants.

But it fit!!!

The artwork on the cover of the book is a mashup of Indiana Jones and Lara Croft 🤭 the story starts in Gringotts but they go on an adventure in Egypt, and I liked the parallel with the two movies!

Here are the stills of my most recent bind!

This classic was absolutely hilarious and I’m absolutely obsessed!

So, the cover was meant to mimic the Hogwarts- A History book design, as it’s brought up many times in the story, but I made it as if it was some Potter merch. 😅

I used scraps of genuine leather for the spine and corners, and I scanned marble paper I had at home to print it on bookcloth for the cover. (I would have used the actual marble paper but I didn’t have enough of it)

I made 50+ silly doodles to illustrate the story, as if someone sketched them out of boredom on the margins of a schoolbook with a feather quill.

The dust jacket is meant to fit Harry’s merch line from the story. Designing it was half the fun, and I was heavily inspired by the classic Mina Lima aesthetics.

It’s such a silly story, it only made sense to make a silly binding to match.

A good prisoner 🏰 by @green-flower-pot

I decided on a fun little bird cage-like gothic tower for the main design, and then I had a field trip making the typeset in the “RIP-my-toner” fashion 😅

This cover involved a lot of math and hair-pulling precise measuring, and…. Well it’s not perfect, but I’m very damn proud of it!

I used the powder blue faux suede I brought back from Greece last year and some gorgeous marbled paper found in Chicago, making it a citizen of the world book.

I hand sewed the headbands too!

A little rebind I made of The Last Unicorn by Peter S Beagle!

This was one of my favourite movies growing up! I loved the animation style and its story was so cozy and beautiful! I recently rewatched it as an adult and enjoyed it much more than I thought I would!

So this rebind was also an opportunity to continue playing with leather. I was lucky enough to find a few leather scraps at a local bookbinder studio. This one was so thin it gave me a lot of trouble. I had to start over the whole spine because the first piece kept ripping apart!

The stain-glass design is drawn by me, and the frame at the back of the dust jacket is partially from the mirror scene in the movie!

I’m overall super happy with how this book came out and it’s a great start to my year!

A dark and savage magic by Tessa Crowley @tessacrowley

I’m so excited to finally share my contribution to the #deadandtortureddoveexchange2026 hosted on Instagram

This turned out to be such a cute fic (but still very dead-dovy, don’t get me wrong), and I wanted to capture its softness with a theme inspired by the first time Draco uses his magic, with Narcissa in their garden, growing some flowers for her.

The cover designs and typeset are adapted from the public domain artwork by Elizabeth Barrett Browning

The endpapers were chosen for their resemblance to feathers, and I sewed headbands with matching colours. It was my first time trying the double cores, and I’m very happy with them!

I think this is my favourite bind of the year so far 🥹

And then bam. Next thing I know, I draw @floralbearies , one of the very first binders I ever followed. No biggie. No stress for my bind to be immaculate or anything. It’s fine. Everything’s fine. I said it’s FINE! 🫣

A Marriage Of True Minds - Lomonaaeren

Dust Jacket: ACNH screenshot from my lovely island and @pinkbowbindery coming in clutch for the outfits and the extra character for Draco. And yes, she assisted me in this endeavor while in a cast, with a broken bone from our Seattle trip. So who’s the real MVP here?

Cover: designed with the animal crossing leaf 🍃 as the main focus and octopus 🐙 tentacles (peep the little sea creatures) because of the violent, soul devouring tentacle like tendrils of dark creature magic crazy that Harry has to deal with in the fic. Is it a stretch? Meybeh. But it was a good design element. 🤷🏼‍♀️ really relying on the “green leaf” to pull this “into theme”.

🪡 Hand sewn end bands - chaos is always part of the process.

Fonts: Yes I tracked down the ACNH fonts for the cover and chapter headers.

📝 I made a little DIY recipe notecard to hold my fancy typewriter note, a boarding pass full of embarrassing typos, Polaroid photos, and some stickers and a magnetic bookmark. (I couldn’t get it out of my head that this exchange was due on the 20th and I totally messed up ALL the dates. 🤪 Early is better than late right? Sorry Beth for giving you heart attacks.)

Oh, and if you can’t tell. They flop. 🤤

This is a super cute and silly Drarry fic and it made me giggle to image them as little villagers.

The cover illustration is made by me!! I had so much fun with this owl post theme! … and I couldn’t resist a little self insert 🤭

I’m also super happy with the choice of endpapers they made me think of the triangle pattern on the grass.

Made some headbands too, although the technique and I weren’t exactly best friends at the time.

Wolfstar happy dance

Lupin and Padfoot are having a dance party!

I watched a clip of the 101 Dalmatians last week it triggered a 5 hour long hyper focused procreate session.

I’ve always wanted to try their animation feature. This was fun!

My novel isn't exactly trad publishing friendly as it's got quite a quirky structure and a not-so-commercial subject, but I still very much ache to be able to hold it in my hand. Smutty Ravenclaw Anthology 🐦‍⬛💙

This is my contribution for a sorting hat smut exchange

I got sorted into Ravenclaw for this one and boy did it challenge me! Why is making anthology so hard!!?

But in the end I’m super proud of how it turned out!

The cover was traced from an old copyright free bird book, I thought it fit the Ravenclaw vibes perfectly!!

This faux leather was a dream to work with, it was my first time and I’m so excited to try it again!

Bending Light by @scullymurphy

This was my contribution for the #bindthetagexchange where I got #RedeemedDracoMalfoy as my theme!

So this was my first time printing in bookcloth! And I really like how it came out! I made the artwork for it myself on procreate!

I also tried rounding and backing the spine, and while it’s far from perfect it’s still better than I thought it would be! I’m excited to better my technique on future binds!

The endpapers are from Milan, and aren’t they absolutely gorgeous (and serendipitous!!?)

This was such a fun project to work on and such a good way to get out of my binding slump!

The is the a scene from the Guano chapter, so far my favourite. I had to put the book down to try to illustrate my vision of it.

Bound and Blinded - The Ballad of Hannah Abbott

AT LAST! This is my contribution for the dead and tortured dove exchange hosted by the fantastic @amlworkshop and @lizz_binding ( message to the hosts: I had a fantastic time doing this and I wanna do it again. K thanks😘) I was also lucky to get to trade out in person with Laura in Greece!!!

This story follows Blaise and Hannah parallel to the story of Manacled by SenLinYu. The poor things aren’t having the best time of their lives, as one would expect.

Eyes play a large role in the story too and that’s why I went with this theme!

The eyes are made with glow in the dark HTV and the headbands are sewn by yours truly!

Also: can we have a moment of awe for these endpapers and how lucky I was to find them?????? Insane!

Over all this was a very fun bind to do and see come together!

This is one of my rebind trades for @floralbearies . I've seen so many wonderful versions of Twilight that I'm not gonna lie, I was stuck on a design choice. I decided to re-watch the series and got to the baseball theme and the rest was history!

Big thanks to @lizz_binding and @poppypressbindery for all the guidance helping me pull off my first wrap cover. I'm 1000% convinced that if not for you guys this would've turned out so wonky 😅

🐻‍❄ His Dark Materials Omnibus 🐻‍❄

By Philip Pullman. This was the 2nd part to my trade with @floralbearies . She let me know a long time ago that this is one of her all time favorite series so I knew I had to do it for her. The problem was how do I do it justice? Again there are so many wonderful covers out there already for this series. I decided on doing something slightly religious and slightly fantasy.
