Hello!

My name is Lexi and at the time of writing this I am one month away from completing year 12 and this blog is dedicated to my journey towards medical school

I wanted to make this blog to share my scribbled notes, entrance exam, application advice and college tips!

Dear Diary,

Today was my first official day at medical school, where I made my promise as a medical student and it was a somewhat eventful and memorable first day! We were congratulated by the Dean before meeting our cohort (only 24 of us!) as well as meeting the first and second years which was so lovely.

Unfortunately for me, i’m severely needle phobic (as well as blood lmao) and they didn’t tell us we would be getting blood tests and vaccines today - i’m pretty bruised up and need a few more vaccines in the coming months but it’s okay because they seem super understanding!

I have a bit of a cold which is usually dubbed “freshers flu” which is a bit anxiety riddling because COVID is still with us but i’m testing twice a week.

i’m excited to start learning and seeing how to revise etc and it’s gonna be so fun, i’m manifesting such a good year and for my blocked nose to go away ahaha

My Tik Tok has been BLOWING UP this week with amazing aspiring medical students and prospective medics students alike and it’s been brilliant to remind people that even us “average” kids can achieve our dreams when we work hard!

- they do free WEEKLY mentoring on Saturdays (I always watch on insta live)

- Their newsfeed and blogs are full of advice no matter what stage of application you are on

- Medical students run the programme and they are some of the kindest and wisest people I know - Tafsir is also so well versed in interview techniques and has been on the panel in the past!
