It's been a minute ! It's finals season... I feel like everyone's already on vacations lol it's so hard to focus on studying while it's summer, someone finish me.

I have 2 weeks off to prepare for 6 exams

2 written exam

2 partical exams

1 research paper

1 oral exam

I'm thriving really :D

hi everyone!

my plastic surgery exam went great, the lock-in was very successful hahah i got a 90/100

i also had a MCQ exam on urology that was pretty hard, but i'll pass it for sure

only one more exam to go, orthopedics, and then a week-long break

i don't know what to expect from the second semester when we'll start the rotations on cardiology, pulmonology, radiology and nephro, but i'm really curious about it, hopefully the doctors will be happy to teach us everything they can during our time on the wards (:

pharmd yr 1 // semester 1

one of our labs each week involves practicing a variety of skills we will use in practice, including counselling patients on their prescriptions. at the beginning of the week we are given a medication and by lab we have to research information to know enough to counsel on it. i decided instead of developing a script to memorize each week i would put that time into creating a summarized study sheet for that medication that would give me the important points to remember: the use, the usual dose and what adjustments might be ok, what a patient should expect in terms of improvement and side effects, storage, and most importantly directions on how to take or give the medication. i also try to include images that show any relevant device because we are also expected to demonstrate proper use. it’s sort of the coles notes version of the patient monograph, which we only have seven minutes to essentially repeat.

this is my “cheat sheet” for amoxicillin from last semester, which was my first. we do not receive 100% in pharmacy school but my assessor was blown away by how well i did.
