FEMALE ACTION STARS PANEL
What’s the one stunt or action scene you trained the hardest for and how did you feel when you nailed it?
Probably my first action scene. I trained so hard because I wanted to do as many stunts as possible, but man, doing it over and over again, it was a lot. But when I felt good and then saw the reaction in the theatres? I felt like I was floating on air.
2. If your character could team up with any other iconic female action hero (past or present) who would it be and what would their mission be?
Lara Croft. That was the movie I watched that made me think that girls could be heroes too and I loved playing the game growing up so that would full circle.
3. What’s something about being a woman in action films that people don’t realize but should?
We can do everything the boys can do? And usually in heels. Side note, stop making women wear heels in fight scenes. It's insane.
4. Between takes of intense fight scenes or explosions what do you actually do to unwind or reset on set?
Cooking is my favourite thing, so going home to cook or bake is what unwinds me. I usually don't have to think much about it so it is great to be able to switch off.
5. What’s the most outrageous costume, weapon, or prop you’ve had to work with and how did you actually make it look cool?
Yelena and her pockets. It was so heavy, I hated it but just having her feel so child like about it and wanting the approval of her sister. I am unsure if it looked cool but there was a lot of feelings about the waistcoat.
6. If you had to choose a theme song for your character what would it be and why?
I think Smells Like Teen Spirit. She has a lot of stuff to work out and I think screaming that would help her. A lot.
7. When was the moment you first felt like, ‘Yep, I’m an action hero’ and what did that moment mean to you?
Getting to see myself as an action figure, I geeked out so hard and my brother bought one just to draw a moustache on it, always humbling me.
