So I ran into something neat a while ago. Pictured are both Blackchin Tilapia, except the entire wild group I encountered on the left are short bodied. I think this is the first short body tilapia I've seen. Apparently it's not crazy uncommon for the black chins but it's wild to see a whole group of shortbody fish at the beach. The fish on the right is a typical depiction of a mature male of this species.

Went back to the cherry shrimp spot, collected a few hundred more, the cold snap did not deter them, as expected.

10 minute old Belonesox fry avoiding her cannibalistic siblings in some floating ricca. They shine like copper at this size.
