I like to think Asmodeus Alice ends everyday looking at photos of Iruma and Clara (that he took) and just kicking his feet and smiling
It will never not be weird seeing his actual eyes.
Itās like when SpongeBob becomes realistic all of a sudden. It unnerves me sometimes
just in case you need a reminder š
My first contribution to this fandom š„¹ Got introduced to Balam and this is all i could think of I fear
nonbinary people who have boobs and like their boobs and dont bind are still nonbinary
nonbinary people who use she/her pronouns are still nonbinary
nonbinary people who wear dresses and makeup and nail polish are still nonbinary
theyre not inherently transfem or fem (unless thats how they individually identify) and theyre not "faking" being nonbinary
nonbinary identities dont all look the same and what you perceive as feminine could be neutral or xenine or whatever else to that nonbinary person
He has a soft spot for kids!!!!!! Screw that, he has a soft spot for anyoneš
I no longer have to pirate the first three volumes of Mairuma š„¹š„¹š„¹ and hopefully with enough money I can buy some more volumes. And merchā¦ā¦ still canāt get Atori merch bc the merch companies fucking hate him and heās not out in the anime yet. BUT ONCE HES IN THE ANIME. OHHH ITS OVER.
something i find interesting (and annoying) is how i feel like iruma's developed trauma responses feel inconsistent. He developed danger sense, to. y'know sense physical danger. He developed dodging skills/absolute crisis evasion (which im really starting to question if it's absolute at all) and he developed.
wait no that's it.
That's IT???
no method of sense dangerous people? hostility? people with ill intentions? people with ill. intentions?
did his instincts never try and prevent iruma from getting into danger around people? only react to them?
does iruma even have instincts?
or just. an over sized danger and dodge response. even then! he should still notice possibly dangerous people!
i don't understand how iruma turned out like this. How he developed such sharp skills in the wilderness but nothing at all in civilization. despite spending equal(?) time in both.
more than anything im surprised iruma never learned/was taught to be wary of the police... his parent constantly broke the law. he constantly worked on illegal jobs. He most likely interacted with the yakuza, i find it highly unlikely that he didn't. nobody taught/ingrained into him that the police are bad news?
Iād like to think that maybe it was because of how his parents treated him and how he slept in the wilderness? We donāt know how long his parents would kick him out the house, or how long theyād be gone, so we donāt actually know the ratio of how long he was surrounded by people compared to spending time in the wilderness. The flashbacks we see of Iruma getting chased by people treat them more like dangerous predators (or animals) more than humans, and the experiences we do see of him with people normally, HE is the one being treated as less than human. So, itās possible he just never really learned what classified as a safe person compared to a dangerous person because of seemingly safe people (his parents) putting him in dangerous situations, and the people around him that shouldāve been treating him right also used him, skewing his vision.
He thought of his parents as well meaning at first too, even though he was starting to note how they were going too far recently. He has SOME idea of what makes people bad or good, he has the difficulties of trying to differentiate if the person is completely bad or if theyāre good.
Kiriwo, for example, was completely and (in my opinion) genuinely nice to Iruma. They got along, and Iruma saw him as a friend. He couldnāt imagine Kiriwo as mean because they related to each other a lot! So when Kiriwo tried to explode the school, it probably fed into Irumaās inability of differentiating bad people from good people. Again, almost all of the people supposed to help him or were nice to him, were horrible in some shape or form.
And met with blatantly rude people, he might think itās like a reverse of previous situations, or that maybe itās just their personality and theyāre not all bad. Heās also met people like that, like Bachiko, Henri, or Kalego.
I might be overthinking it, and projecting a lot, but itās better than thinking, āoh iruma just is too nice to think of anyone as mean!!!ā Like. No. He clearly can hold some grudges if he truly thinks the person is bad. Thereās more to it than that.
Oh yeah tomorrow is my birthday. I want Atori merch. Letās look at what he has!!

Something I appreciate about Nishi's writing is how she understands the story elements she uses and how to give them a creative spin.
It was a given that, when Iruma finally revealed he was a human, Alice would accept him. In fact, it would not have made sense for Alice to get upset at Iruma, given his character. It may even have felt tiresome for him to get angry at Iruma for it.
It would have also been so easy for Nishi to have Alice not care nore make a big deal out of it. This is a trick she has done in this series before, after all.
However, rather than doing either, she decided to let Alice have a messy emotional turmoil based on the reveal, that nonetheless still has Alice not upset at Iruma over it.
Because it is a massive revelation that completely changes how Alice sees Iruma. But which can't shake the bedrock foundation that is Iruma's relationship with both Alice and Clara.
And rather than ignoring the "lying", the manga has Alice not only quickly understand that Iruma was justified in keeping his status as a human a secret for reasons other than him, but point out that the fear of being marked as deceitful and untrustworthy would in turn feed Iruma's fears of being found out, making it even harder to speak of it
Instead, Alice sees it as his own personal failure for not noticing the burden Iruma was carrying (his own personal flaw) and questions if he is worthy of being Iruma's soulmate.
Concluding with the final note of reinforcing his desire to be by Iruma's side no matter what.
I really like Atori. A lot. I love his aesthetic, and the fact heās a spider demon, but I also love his personality. From what little we get of him(and heās one of the more shown Six Fingers, for gods sake) we can see how messed up some of the Six Fingers are. Heās a sado-masochist, who quickly takes off his cover just from getting thrilled from fighting. Heās cheeky, and heās completely sick in the head. He still sees Kiriwo as WEIRDER than him, despite them both being equally bad (the only thing that makes Kiriwo weirder, is that he gets off on DESPAIR specifically. Atori seems to be thrilled from fighting and pain in general), and heās just. Oughh I love him. Also Iām so CURIOUS on what Balam meant by there being no such thing as a spider demon. WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN. ATORI. AND ATORI IS SO FOCUSED ON FIGHTING AGAINST āSOMEONE WHO IS TOUGH AND POWERFULā THAT HE DOESNT WVEN BLOW HIS COVER FOR IRUMA. HE BLOWS IT FOR SABRO. HE TRIES KILLING SABRO BECAUSE HES JUST TOUGH WNOUGH THAT HE SEES IT AS FUN. HE GETS IRRITATED WHEN SABROāS ATTENTION INST FOCUSED ON HIM. HES SO WEIRD AND FUCKED UP.
Also I wanna mention how Atori also towers over basically everyone. Heās 2 meters tall at least. Heās MEANT to be unnerving on stature and looks ALONE. His face is always in a smile usually (except for when Shiida stops him and he gets pissed off), and his face is justā¦so strange on an already imposing body. Heās MEANT to be scary.
What i love most is, though, is that heās not completely insane and takes everything as a joke. He knows what counters him well, and he can predict things EXTREMELY well(where Sabro and his first years would teleport, how Balam would fight, how Kalego would defend, etc.) so it makes SENSE for him to go insane over a sudden surprise. When Shiida defends Iruma as WELL, heās angry as fuck. He thought his teammate wouldnāt fight against him! He had planned that his teammate would leave him to his devices! He hadnāt PREDICTED that Shiida would stop him from capturing Iruma.
In hindsight, this is also because heās on a rampage, and maybe even in his origins, but with how he blatantly insults Sullivan, I suspect that heās still got SOME rational mind to remember what hurts Sullivan the most. He still laughs when everyone else appears, but heās the most angry about SHIIDA. Shiida, his teammate in the Six Fingers; Shiida, his teammate in this MISSION. He got so viscerally angry that he dropped a smile and let out a yell.
Overall I love Atori. Heās my wife. I want others to love him as much as I do. Hell I probably even missed some info!! And when Irumafia(hopefully) expands his personality more and makes him more nuanced, Iāll eat that up!! I love Atori!!!!!
So... am I the only one who ships this!?
It's one thing to say "you are part of the family" to the adopted kid and another to effectively state "the blood oath I have sworn to my honored liege lord to serve until my dying breath also includes you".
Opera's formal role is some mix between butler and bodyguard for Sullivan. Technically they have little connection to Iruma aside from him being the guest in the mansion. The oath they have sworn as a "security devil" is a really personal thing and links them first and foremost to their employer. Except Opera does not care about such details.
Sullivan adopted a random (actually not so random, there are theories) human kid and Opera was like "you mean OUR adopted kid?".
So you just want me to sob my eyes out. Okay!!! OKAY!!!!

Chapter 453: The Same
All the pages and panels were so amazing and beautiful this week T_T I love that Nishi-sensei dedicated an entire chapter and a half for Clara and Azz's feelings about Iruma. The way Azz was disappointed in himself for not noticing Iruma was human broke my heart! Don't take your love for Iruma for granted Azz!!! Both Azz and Clara have been there for Iruma and vice versa, a human being in the netherworld is such an out-there idea, nobody would blame them for not noticing.
I also really liked how they explained their connection, how they all have a loneliness nobody else can understand. That's why they became friends, that's how they came to understand each other so deeply. And now Azz and Clara are going to get Iruma back together T_T ā¤ļøšš
