Painting study, will continue to work on it.
I made this skirt from painted canvases. These canvases are from my 3rd semester in Arts, where we learned to emulate skin with oil paint. They are quite lame since they were my first attempts to represent light and shadow reflected on skin but they sure look (if not interesting) cool on a garment.
The bodysuit is also made of upcycled material, it was an old shirt where I cleaned up all my brushes, so it’s quite oily and smelly. It’s an art object on its own, since I don’t recommend it for regular wear.
Revamped jacket no.3 (1/5)
I will be working on my mini collection of five upsycled denim jackets, this is the first one I’ve created and I just couldn’t wait to show you!
Revamped Jacket no.3 - before & after
This is a second hand denim jacket I bought from a friend, I assumed I could just put it in the washing machine and when it came out, the red colorant washed off into the light blue denim. I never wore it again.
I had a project waiting around of creating five unique denim jackets to make a political statement. This is the first one and it’s almost done. Just couldn’t wait to show you.
“Bésame - Ámame” can be read across the back.

Process and evolution of my exploration with textiles as paint/color.
Do you know the painting or the artist that inspired me to create this textile collage? Guess.
