I know Eli.
Don’t joke.

“I’ve always wanted to to be like you. When I came to Lockhart/Gardner, the way you… held yourself.”
After shaking hands, Norma took a seat on one side of the table, gesturing for Alicia to follow suit and make herself comfortable. Or as comfortable as one could on the rather uncomfortable plastic prison chairs. At her question, Norma nodded and held up the pad and paper she had been given for their meeting, to show that there was a way in which they could communicate other than verbally. Whilst writing wasn’t her favourite way, she understood that it was the simplest in a situation where she was going to be asked so many questions.
These prison chairs were uncomfortable, but it was something she was used to. Both from working cases with incarcerated clients, & from visiting her own husband when he was in prison. Alicia nodded as the older woman gestured to her way of communication, and braced herself for what would no doubt be an interesting meeting at the very least. “Alright, ” she began, “So, how much of your sentence have you already served?”
Karen couldn´t help but chuckle at the other woman´s words. “Well you should probably get something to eat with that or you´re going to go to work with a hangover tomorrow,” she then smiled. “I´m Karen, by the way.”
“Oh God, I rarely get hangovers anymore, it’s almost like life is rewarding me for all the stress it’s put me through,” she joked. “It’s nice to meet you, Karen. So, if you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing out this late? Or are you avoiding something too?”
Murdock– I’m Murdock. Nelson is currently… Busy at this moment in time.
I can totally agree with you. Finding clients has been one of our biggest issues but that hasn’t stopped us.
We seemed to have gotten ourselves a steady stream of them now.
“Ah, well it’s lovely to meet you, I’m Florrick. Alicia Florrick. I’ve got to admit it’s nice to meet lawyers that I’m not in competition with. At least - not currently. “ she laughed.
“Oh good, once you’ve signed up the first few it’s usually steady sailing. Not in our case but we had a few rivals to begin with.”
You have a good laugh.

Norma had never had a lawyer during her incarceration, instead owning up to her crime and taking the given punishment. But she had been here for many, many years and had seen a lot of girls come and go - it was only natural for her to want to know if there was anything she could do. Her hand extended politely as she smiled at the new face.
‘Oh, one more thing. She doesn’t talk.’ That had been the extent of Diane’s briefing of the new client. A pro-bono case, it had been given to Alicia who had dealt with imprisoned clients before, though she was sure that this lady couldn’t be any worse than Colin Sweeney. Nobody was. Shaking the woman’s hand, she smiled in return. “Hello, Ms Romano. My name’s Alicia Florrick, I’ll be acting as first chair on your case. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”

“Don’t worry, there’s nothing to fear about that from me.”
“Ms. Florrick, I am a fan of your work”
“ You are? Oh, well thank you. I’ve never really thought about lawyers having fans before.. ”
