Meet some of the Clan— friends and newfound family.

saw some people doing this on my dash and thought it looked like fun, so here's my own quick one!

@rooted-clangen was definitely an inspiration for the darker premise of Flowercough's plague, and I definitely can't say Sinewkit's future path isn't deeply inspired by Root even if it wasn't entirely intentional! i highly doubt anyone following me hasn't read this comic but if you haven't i highly reccomend it :3

What was the original thought that led to the creation of this character?

now this is a long story, as this relates to both the creation of BurrowClan and Sinew, but bear with me—

The original inspiration for BurrowClan was this song, Love Attribute! The original plan was a hanahaki curse from the Dark Forest, but the original Clan (SunnyClan) fell through, because 1. I didn't really care about the cats there, 2. I hadn't planned how to DO the curse, 3. I ended up liking the curse idea less and less. It felt too predictable, too boring! Plus, the original plan was a tragedy and I lost interest in doing such an idea.

I later came up with the name Sinew for a cat (with a suffix, but no spoilers! ;3) and eventually decided to use them for a new clan. Then came designing some of the cats!

Eventually, I made myself a new Clan in the recently released Lifegen: Infection, and recoded some of the cats to look more like the cats I designed. It helped me get attached to the cats I made faster, and after a little bit, I had a flexible, but applicable plan for Sinew's story!

If I may confess something, I'm a little concerned about portraying their story correctly, but I'm hoping recent experiences will help me properly portray how she processes things. :3

Sinewkit's Family Tree

Sinewkit's family tree! You'll see all of these cats eventually but right now you've only seen Mudshade, Sinewkit, Emberriver, and Burrowstar.

Rabbittoe and Dustdance are both male, so Rabbittoe asked his sister, Duneslither, to be a surrogate.

This family tree is the core of BurrowClan! It is more recently made than the other Clans, hence being named after Burrowstar.
