clarkwood:
“I got that you were telling a joke, but…” Clark’s voice drags off. He furrows his eyebrows, perplexed. “I’m not going to lie, I think it just went over my head, that’s all. I’m just tired today. Practice killed. Care to explain it?”
“I wasn’t, I--- well, kind of, but it wasn’t the point. What I am saying is that... uh, I saw Lexie a few days ago at work. I think she’s out to kill owls now.” Blossom makes a face and shakes her head, “Maybe not intentionally, actually, but... you never know with them. I’m just saying if I ever get fired, now you know why. The joke was that if it happens at least me and dad will have more in common but that doesn’t matter.”
coffeedisorder:
Lily nodded. “That’s a step forward. Feel free to let me know if you notice anything out of the ordinary in the next couple of days. Aurors or other people coming and asking for letters or packages which are not theirs, things like that.” She smiled. “Yes, yes, that would be wonderful. Perhaps an owl that’s on a break? Is there something like training flights? You could say it’s one of those with a fake letter, so they wouldn’t have any reason to open it.”
“I've got this, don’t worry. Or, well, I don’t know. Nothing weird might happen, I can’t promise you much, but I’ll try to figure out if anything’s up, that’s what I mean.” Blossom smiles and nods, “Oh and the owl of course. I’ll say it’s a letter I’m sending myself, I think they trust me enough not to check in if they know it’s from me.”
witbeyondlexie:
“I don’t know if it’d kill them. That’s just something I read, not something they told me. See? You always do this. You take something perfectly reasonable and turn it around to make me feel like I’m the bad guy. You did the same with that happened to our fathers and now you’re doing it again!” Lexie crossed her arms, mimicking the other girl’s movement. “No, you know what? I’ll just drop it at the London’s post office. Maybe they will be able to tell me how to handle sweet samples and owls. You are clearly our of your league here.”
“But you’re the one that brought it up! You should’ve checked if you were worried, you’re the one that works with them and they’d probably know, wouldn’t they? That’s not--- I didn’t--- ugh,” Blossom frowns and shakes her head, starts to walk around in circles. “The London post office won’t know either, Lex. We’re not candy experts and we’re not mediwizards, we keep the owls safe and fed and healthy, but if they get sick or wounded beyond our knowledge we take them to the proper wizards to heal them. We’re a post office, not a pet shop,” she stops and turns to look at her, “talk to your bosses, tell them to bring the samples themselves if they’re sure it won’t harm the owls or take the risk with their own owls if they’re not sure. And while you’re at it, maybe keep my dad out of your mouth, because I really don’t think you understand.”
imshacklebolted:
“Ah okay then I’ll wait to give in the letter myself that’s no problem. Though for the record I wouldn’t report you because of an owl’s mistake. –I was just wondering if you personally have seen anything suspicious. Letters gone missing, owls showing up that aren’t employed here, things like that. I haven’t heard anything myself, but I’ve been told to ask all I can.”
“No, it’s fine! I can, I mean... it’s just not what I usually do, but I mean, I could probably accept just one letter. As long as I don’t start taking everyone’s and mess something up-- you shouldn’t have to wait after all,” Blossom chuckles awkwardly and shakes her head. “Huh, suspicious,” she bites her bottom lip, “I haven’t seen new owls, that I can tell you for sure. I check on them every day, I feed them and all that, so I know who’s supposed to be here and who isn’t. But missing letters, I’m not sure. I think that’s something that happens all the time, though.”
sensiblemoony:
“Um, well this is awkward. I’m not super interested.”
“In sending an owl? I didn’t mean you had to send one, I was just--- I was trying to make conversation and I figured people talk about their jobs, right?” Blossom frowns, “I... I can go somewhere else, you don’t need to listen about people’s jobs, I’m sure it’s boring. I’m so sorry.”
syblltrlwny:
“No, no, no, no, no–” Sybill’s satchel had ripped from the bottom, tarot cards, bracelets, nail polish, cat treats and lastly her crystal ball rolling and falling away from her. Dropping down to the ground, she frantically tried to gather her things in her arms. “I’m terribly sorry…” she begins, poking the figure in the ankle, “But you’re stepping on the High Priestess.”
“Oh my---” Blossom gasps and looks around, stepping away from the cards. “I am so so sorry, I swear wasn’t... I just wasn’t looking, I hope she’s not mad at me,” she chuckles awkwardly, her joke surely failing, “do you need help? I can, I don’t know, ask people to move away or something. Least I can do.”
coffeedisorder:
Lily shrugged. “Honestly I have no way of knowing it, but don’t tell me it isn’t a bit weird that they’re opening every letter. I’m just saying that information can be used both right and wrongly, and we have no way of knowing what’s for.” She tilted her head. “Let me find out more about it. Perhaps there’s something more we can do. I was mainly asking because I need to send a letter to my parents and they’re muggles. I don’t want some people in the Ministry to find out about that.”
“Well... I can’t promise you anything about what happens on the floors of the Post Office I’m not usually in, or the building outside London, I can tell you everyone I work with seems trustworthy,” Blossom shrugs and nods, “but that’s something my boss will definitely look into if you need me to report it. And about your letter, I, uh... I could maybe send it off the records? Use one of the owls that’s on a break, or even mine. If it’s urgent.”
witbeyondlexie:
Her eyes widened, her face completely in shock after the preposterous accusation. “I have no idea! I’m only the messenger here. I don’t know anything about their owls, or if they even have owls! They’re not my friends, I just work for them! And why would I even try to get you fired using my boss’ wife’s name?! That would be absurd, and ridiculous, and pointless! I can’t believe you would think I would be remotely capable of doing that and even hurting an innocent bird in the process!”
“I don’t know, but why would anyone send owls with something if they don’t know if it’s even safe or if it might or might not kill them?! That makes no sense,” Blossom shakes her head, “Lex, I trusted you before, and look where it got us. My dad trusted yours, and look where it got him. I know better, you can’t blame me for thinking this feels sketchy because it does.” She sighs and crosses her arms, “Just forget about it, make sure you won’t get an owl or two killed and me fired before coming over next time. I’ll take the package if they confirm it’s all good, or whoever’s at the front desk will. But I need confirmation first, I can’t risk them.”
❝ [ Agumon detroys vending machines, Kari is on his back in a Koloa-like outfit. ] Hey! Mom says not to do that to society! [ Kari takes two of the beverages that came from the destroyed machines ] Ok just one each. ❞ — ANIMATED PARALLELS : BLOSSOM WOOD - YAGAMI HIKARI (DIGIMON)
Kari is kind and sweet by nature, always looking for the best in people, and avoids fighting them whenever possible. Still, she can be serious, especially in drastic situations. As she grows older, Kari is more outgoing and has a playful and whimsical personality, but remains a sensible and grounded person. She tends to consider her own safety as secondary to the safety of others. As a young child, she is prone to illness, but grows out of it. Kari's older brother, Taichi "Tai" Kamiya, is the leader of the DigiDestined. Kari is very close to Tai and hero-worships him for his kindness and strength well into adolescence. (x)
ACE OF HEARTS --- Although the idea of dating has not always been in her radar, romance has always been important in her life. happy ever afters and fairytale endings were things Blossom always dreamed of, especially because none of those scenarios usually implied sex was necessary. Soulmates, she believes in, feeling a special unique connection with someone. Anything else, she’s not really that interested in, she’s known from a very early age that it wasn’t her thing and never really questioned it.
FLOWER POWER --- Blossom loves nature and flowers, always has since she was a little girl, but she’s allergic to certain types of pollen. Because of that she can’t stay outside as much as she’d like to, not even in her own small backyard garden, and sneezing and having a stuffy nose became almost a habit to her.
HOUSE OF HELGA --- She’s a Hufflepuff through and through--- incredibly loyal to her family, hard working and dedicated, and patient with almost everyone. Care of magical creatures was her favorite class at Hogwarts although she wasn’t the best at it and Herbology was the class she truly excelled in.
ALMOST TWINS --- Her brother, Clark, is the one person she’d tell anything and everything to. Secrets, fears, problems, dreams, nightmares. They’re not related by blood, but she’s always felt like they might as well be, having become a family at such a young age. Because of that, and because she knows he wants to bring their last name honor again, Blossom is really supportive and protective of him. She knows how hard he tries, and although quidditch doesn’t interest her that much, she always shows up to all of his games with all the enthusiasm in her-- his team’s colors painted on her face, pennants, handwritten signs, hats, the whole deal.
THE CARETAKER --- Blossom works at the Post Office building in Hogsmeade, the only place where she found where she could take care of owls without worrying that a kid would adopt one and mistreat them. It might be a plain job but she’s a simple girl, and she doesn’t need big dreams to be happy.
gregorobitch:
Freddie nodded. “I do, thank you. I am Fredrika Gregorovitch, by the way. I think I did not introduced myself.” She sighed. “Yes, he is resting at home, staying in his cage for a bit. I hate to do that, but I am afraid he will catch something else if I let him go out right now. I believe he is still getting used to the change of scenery. He has always lived in Germany.” She shrugged. “Don’t worry about it. I know that is what most people think actually. But it is a mistake to assume we are not happy with our choices. Happiness does not always come from love. Sometimes success overshadows that. I might not grow to love my husband when the time comes, but our union will bring personal success and who knows? Maybe we will be good friends. There are so many marriages by choice and the people in them don’t love each other anymore, but they remain together. This is the same thing, only it is arranged.”
“You didn’t but that’s okay! Super okay, actually-- no worries. Great name though, super long but... yeah, real nice,” she awkwardly smiles and nods, not knowing what else to say. “That’s... kind of sad, if you think about it. Shouldn’t you be able to have both? Or, well, at least aim for that?” Blossom shrugs, “I don’t know, I don’t understand how any of that business works honestly. But the way I see it, love shouldn’t be about, well... business. Putting your entire future in someone else’s hands just... makes me uncomfortable. What if they’re awful? What if they want things you don’t? What if--- I don’t know, you just don’t get along?” She makes a face and shakes her head, “I guess you can be happy if you’re used to it, but I don’t think I could.”
coffeedisorder:
Lily nodded. “That’s wonderful, yes.” She tilted her head to the side, thinking of a way to voice her opinion without giving much away. “I don’t think there should be, no. People’s letters are personal and the information in them should be seen by whoever was meant to only. Who knows what it can be used for? But I guess with the attack and all the Ministry feels like they have to do something about it and they have convinced themselves the Death Eaters send letters to each other or something! I don’t see any other reason for it.”
“Exactly! But... you don’t suspect there’s been any weird activity, do you? Through the letters or even at the office, I...” Blossom frowns and looks around, then leans in forward to whisper, “did you hear anything suspicious? Should I report anything to my boss? I can say I got an anonymous complaint if necessary, but I don’t know if there’s anything else I can do beyond that. Our offices tend to be pretty, you know, fight free.”
