IT’S BEEN SO LONG SINCE I’VE BEEN BACK

I missed you all so much!!

So hiatus turned out to be....rather a bit long than I was expecting. Sorry about that! I got swallowed by college applications, and then I was doing an art show, and then I was in love for a lil skip but that is neither here nor there and I’m back now, funnily enough, in the middle of testing season. But!! I’m almost free from literally all of my responsibilities and have time to run this blog again!

Everything is crazy, and I know I neglected a lot of threads - I didn’t mean to, life just sort of spiraled. Still, they’re very much old threads now, and I’ll understand if you want to drop them!

So I think what I’ll do is - I’ll drop all the current threads I have. If you have a thread with me and you want to keep it, by all means, send me a message or yell at this post! If you don’t, however, I’m gonna drop them and make a new starter call/reblog some memes, and if anyone’s interested, we’ll go from there~

Thank you all for being so patient w/ me and my crazy life and sticking around! I love Enola and I love you all and boy I’m glad to be back writing w/ you amazing ppl :)

Pidge was sitting at the bare desk in her pokey little room. Picking at a deep scratch in the varnished wood, she ignored the young woman who had come to visit her. She was angry. Not at Enola, just in general. That was why they’d thrown her in here, angry, thinking she was on drugs, homeless… part of a new plan to clean up the streets of London. Despite being able to have a shower every day, and being fed, Up (the nurses believed her to be far too skinny), this place was miserable.

“Won’t you say something at least?” Enola eyed their surroundings, mentally mapping out the room, the hall, what lay beyond. “If not for me, then for the camera?” She pivoted on her heel. The camera was in the corner, loud and unhidden. The room was bare - a bed, a desk, white walls. Not even a window. Anyone would go mad here. “They won’t let you out. I tried talking to them.”

So, of course, Enola made up her mind - they would break out.

“Oh, they’ll be up before dessert’s served, I can promise you that.” he said with a knowing grin, before looking back down at his brothers. “Should we move them to the couch? And which one do you want, Tweedledee or Tweedledum?” He gestured toward Will for the former, and Dom for the latter.

He paused a moment, before asking, “…Do you think it would be unethical to take photos to use as leverage? Not blackmail, of course, but… you know, just in case…”

“They look equally heavy,” She leaned down to grab Will and grimaced. “What is your father feeding you these days?” Enola pushed the boy up onto the couch, blowing her hair out of her face. “They’d better be up. It took me weeks to talk Mrs. Hudson into giving me that pie recipe.”

She considered her nephews, snoring away with blissful little looks on their faces, and grinned. “Oh, if you like. I make a point not to take sides in siblings’ affairs - heaven knows that never helps. The way I see it, they gave you the opportunity.” She grinned, and winked. “All’s fair in love and war.”

He could be an absolute bloody prat sometimes. Everyone else’s concern was just garbage, then, yeah? All that time she spent worrying he was dead in a ditch somewhere, only to find out he may be dead in his apartment, just homework from Mycroft? She really was stupid to waste her emotions on her - her complete idiot of a brother.

Angry tears sprang to her eyes and Enola dragged her sleeve ferociously across her face. “Fine. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.” She stepped back for distance to build up speed, charged, and landed a flying kick at the door. The wood splintered and cracked, and with a great groaning, the door lifted off its hinges.

She stepped into the doorway as the dust settled.

221B was...nothing like what it was when she had left it last time. “Jesus Christ, Sherlock.” Her brother, too, was - unwell. “What the hell have you done to yourself?”

The dust - and the smell. The curtains were drawn closed. She marched over to the window and tugged on the grimy fabric, throwing them open with much more force than was strictly necessary, light falling mercilessly into the room. “Alright.” She folded her arms, stalking back to her brother, planting her feet and glaring up at him. “Spill. What are you on? How much?”

She could ferry the information to - someone. Dr. Watson, maybe. Mrs. Hudson. Not Mycroft, because Mycroft would rip him a new one or just survey him from a window and do nothing, and it always hurt Sherlock’s stupid pride. She half wanted to tell their brother, just out of spite, but Sherlock needed help, and he wasn’t very well going to get it by locking himself in a room for the rest of eternity, like he seemed to want to do.

(Irene Adler) “The one and only,” Irene said with a pleased smirk. She had indeed been recognised by her name, which was a rare occurrence these days. Irene chuckled softly at her next question. “No, Sherlock most certainly know I’m a alive. I’m not that cruel.” It wouldn’t do to give away his good act, his moment of being her personal hero.

“Mycroft might believe it, though.” She added thoughtfully. He really ought to know better. Even if she had secured papers in her new name, including a passport and a deed. Mycroft probably knew that she was alive, but held on to the knowledge that Irene Adler had been captured and beheaded in Karachi. She suppressed the shiver that threatened to run down her back. The memories were still hard to think back on.

“Sherlock knows. We still texts sporadically. He has however still to take me up on my invitations for dinner.”

“Sherlock is like that, yeah.” Enola softened, the smile on her face growing a touch sad, a touch fond. “If you wait for him your dinner plans will never settle.” It was odd, seeing Irene Adler in the flesh. She’d had so many preconceived notions from the stories, but nothing about this woman quite fit her expectations. “I’m glad he knows. Though he really is a better actor than I give him credit for. He seemed devastated.” Mycroft had been worried - and so had she been, when she snuck round in disguise to check on him.

“Mycroft can be a bit off at times. After all, he doesn’t do his own legwork. Still, I’m glad you’re not one of his henchmen.” Now that everything was cleared up, she relaxed microscopically. “Sorry for being dodgy. Got to be alert, or Big Brother will find me. Don’t let on you saw me today, yeah?”

Enola had a case in these parts. If Sherlock caught wind of her whereabouts, though, she’d have to abandon the client entirely, or come up with a new disguise.

Millie Bobby Brown’s storyline in season two of Stranger Things wasn’t the best, but pretty much any enjoyment that was to be found in her extended digressions from the main plot was all because of how rad Brown herself is. Now, Deadline is reporting that she’s parlaying that radness into a sweet gig starring in and producing a movie series based on Nancy Springer’s Enola Holmes Mysteries books. Legendary Entertainment is producing the project, which will involve Brown starring as Enola, the significantly younger sister of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes. Naturally, Enola is also “a highly capable detective in her own right,” because you don’t grow up in the Holmes family and become a banker. (Or, if you do, you become the smartest and smuggest banker in the whole banking world.)

Oh cool – thank god she’s not gonna be starring in Eurus the Teenage Witch!
