I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.

hey has anyone found a way to act on your desires without opening yourself to failure

oh yeah btw you’re the chosen one
It's called the Global Justice Report, it is here. This is an actionable plan which can be sent to legislators and demanded of political parties. We could save the world within our lifetimes.
It has always been possible. It is still possible.
I hate you Ozempic craze I hate you 'heroin chic' I hate you weight loss ads on public radio I hate Burn Fat Fast ads every thirty seconds I hate you I hate you I hate you
I grew up before the term 'thigh gap' was invented I grew up before 'hip dip' was invented I was born before 'muffin top' was a thing before 'clean girl look' was a thing before 'glass skin' was a thing before razoring off peach fuzz was a thing and I'm so so so fucking tired of us inventing new concepts purely for the purpose of convincing people to hate their own bodies enough to buy products
Last time Tuberculosis ran through the USA a small number of people got it on purpose to look skinny and waifish and delicate and used makeup to look flushed and bony and when the Victorians figured out tapeworms people would infect themselves on purpose to starve themselves smaller and women and now in the year of our lord 2026 there is a noticeable fraction of the USAmerican population genuinely thrilled about a treatment-resistant microbial parasite that makes you shit and vomit your brains out for a month because side effects include weight loss and STILL we talk about being skinny like it's the natural default setting for all healthy people as if it's a self-sustaining standard and not an imaginary goal that we are constantly constantly constantly beating ourselves with a whip to acheive
making more bear pinups for our store and this handsome guy is done 🐻🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈

Today's phrase is "瓦も磨けば玉になる(kawara mo migakeba tama ni naru)".
【Vocabulary & Grammar】
1.瓦 (かわら, kawara) A noun meaning “tile.” In proverbs, it symbolizes something ordinary or of low value.
2.も(mo) The particle も, meaning “even.” “Even a tile…”
3.磨けば(みがけば, migakeba) The conditional form of 磨く (to polish). 磨けば = “if you polish it” / “when polished.”
4.玉(たま, tama) A noun meaning “jewel,” “gem.” Symbolizes something valuable or excellent.
5.になる(ninaru) Means “to become.” So 玉になる = “becomes a gem.”
「瓦も磨けば玉になる”」meanseven something ordinary can become valuable when polished. It expresses the idea that steady effort can transform anything into something meaningful. Is there something you keep doing, thinking it’s nothing special? Have you ever talked about something you do routinely and surprised someone with it? Even small efforts built up day by day are never wasted when you pursue them deeply. Hold your head high.

Actually embarrassing I have to send this text to the work gc
"Rashida was born in India where her family lived before being granted visas to Australia, so she casually- she thought- asked the friend if she'd ever thought about the direction yoga has taken in the West. "The studios are full of white women and the prices are not really reflective of the ethos I thought yoga was meant to be about", she explained.
"I have never in my life experienced such a level of defensiveness." Her voice cracks. "How dare I even question something so important to her and her journey... That helps her deal with the stress of her work." Rashida had tried to initiate a general conversation, but her friend's response left her stunned. "I was completely perplexed and the whole conversation spiraled to the point where she up and left the pub. All my friends there were also white, and they told me I was rude to even bring it up because it was important to her and I was way out of line."
Like so many other women of color, Rashida blamed herself: "I thought, okay, it's clearly me. I'm crazy. I should shut the fuck up because I am losing all my friends." Rashida did not want to lose a friend she'd known for more than a decade... She sent her friend a long letter of apology, which was accepted, but the friend told her she had felt "very attacked". Rashida eventually ended the friendship. "If I can't have this conversation with someone I saw as progressive, as an ally who had worked in refugees migrant community spaces..." Her voice trails off. "The mob mentality backed her up and made me feel like I was totally in the wrong."
