He hummed softly, staring at the plant directly in front of him for a moment before speaking softly. “My mother was Korean, she made me leave Russia when my father became too busy with work.” Vasyl’s mother was a psychopath that demanded to raise her son in a country of proper people. People with ethics and morals and not the Russians who let their children know the troubles of the world as soon as they discovered them. At least, that’s what she told his father but in reality she simply wanted to benefit from his father’s endless supply of money. A pest. His eyes looked at the other for a moment before he gave him a quick once over and sighed.
“I’ve yet to introduce myself, I’m Vasyl. a lot of flower shops in the area know me. I…spend a lot of my time helping out the shops as well. Think of me as your local handyman. I do any type of work as long as it doesn’t interfere with my other job.” He placed a hand on his chest and bowed his head quickly before fixing his gaze back on the male. Vasyl was well known between the flower shops, knowledgeable and useful when it came to hands on jobs. The old ladies loved him and he kept the children entertained, easily continuing to do maintenance work with several children hanging off his arms.
Each flower shop owner was different. One was clumsy and forgetful, another one wanted her son to grow up and do whatever he wanted instead of forcing him to take over the shop, another one was strictly by the book when it came to taking care of plants but this one in front of him. He was slightly different, a different look in his eyes. Slightly more curious and a little more knowledgeable. His eyes held a little something more than Vasyl was more than curious about.
“Did you move here as well or are you from around here?”
“Vasyl.”
He expected to have a problem saying it, given that it wasn’t a common name in either Korean or in his native tongue of Chinese, but it fell from his lips almost like a word in a song. People said that a quality he had was being able to find the beauty in anything, and if he had to admit it, he’d have to say that the man’s name was probably one of the most beautiful things that he got the chance to say. It had its own unique finesse. Obviously, he liked it. He even repeated it to himself a couple more times, but like before, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if the other heard him. Hopefully, the man would think nothing of it though. Instead, he’d think he was just getting used to how it’s pronounced.
“My name’s Lu Han. You’re welcome to call me whatever you want though.” He wasn’t exactly sure if the other was looking his way, but he thought it would be rude if he didn’t do anything more than introduce himself. He took the chance then and turned toward the other, giving more of a formal bow to show his respects then took his place right back next to him, hands clasped behind his back now.
“I’m from China. Mama and Papa thought I would be better off out here in Korea though, so when I turned 23 I moved out here. Started my own business. Kind of… Carried on Mama’s.” It wouldn’t be noticeable to the other man given that the two weren’t facing the other, but his expression softened when he said that. HIs parents, more-so his mother, was a huge soft spot to the florist. They made him everything he was was today. He owed them practically everything.
“Ah— You know what, I have to apologize. I haven’t heard anything about you. Though, I just opened up again and hardly got myself out of the shop yet, so.” He hummed. “What’s that other job you’re talking about?”
The situation is comical, really. The two socially inept people just trying to do their jobs, flustering eachother while they cross paths. She likely won’t notice the humor in it until later, when social anxiety sinks its claws in and she frets about whether she said the wrong thing to someone two weeks ago. She tears her eyes away from the vase in front of her to look up at the florist, a gentle smile of sympathy given as he stumbles over his words. She’s learned eloquence now, but constantly stuttered when she was younger.
“It’s okay, there’s no need to apologize! You’re just bringing them to me, yeah?” Upon further inspection, she realizes as well that there is no card attached to the flowers. Could she have a secret admirer in the office? It hardly seemed right. Most there were strictly heterosexual women and middle aged men with wives. “I don’t… know, really. I’m not sure in the slightest.” There’s a pause, an intake of breath as she remembers the blond-haired boy from the library, a Hawaiian studying abroad for a semester. Maybe it was him? Though it’s more her own feelings chiming in, getting her hopes up, than the likelihood of him having a strong enough attraction to send her flowers. “Thank you, anyway. I’m sorry for the inconvenience, I am pretty much off the radar.”
You could say that the two were alike in that way. It would surely take him a lot more time than it would take her to get over what happened and find the humor in the situation, but he would, and that’s what mattered. For now though, he’d probably beat himself up for how he reacted to it. He had a boyfriend. There wasn’t any reason for him to get flustered. Seeing any one react to him that way should’ve made feel awkward, at best, not flustered. Though, it wasn’t a huge surprise that he did. Not to himself, anyway. He spent most of his life secluded, away from people. Not on purpose though. And the break he took from away from work brought his awkward nature back. Probably amplified it even.
“It’s not a problem at all! Gosh— Hold on, I’m sorry— ” Lu Han forced himself to take a moment. He had to pull it together if he even wanted a chance to hold a conversation with the girl. The way he held himself right now was clearly laughable, and he was surprised himself that she didn’t start laughing straight in his face. And if she did now, honestly, he wouldn’t be offended. He probably wouldn’t even notice. When he finally managed to calm down and get it together, he breathed out a soft laugh before he tried to continue again. “That’s odd.” He took a quick peek around the girl’s office. There wasn’t a lot to see, but he did notice that everyone looked too absorbed in their own work to even think about love. After hours didn’t seem likely either. He then tried to remember the man who would into the shop and delivered the card to him, but the image he was getting was blurry and nothing in particular stood out to him. “You sure there’s no one? I mean- If you have some time, let’s sit down and try to figure it out?”
it feels so good to be kind. it’s the warm feeling you get when you tell someone that they look nice today, or that they did a good job, or that their voice sounds lovely, or that the cookies they baked were delicious, or how you always laugh at their jokes. it’s the warm feeling you get when they respond bashfully, or surprised, with that small smile and a thankfulness that shines in their eyes. it feels so good when someone is kind to you. when it feels like the effort you put into yourself is seen and acknowledged and appreciated. it feels so good when you’re able to make someone feel that wonderful. we should always try and encourage each other.
「 ☁ 」 Alex looked at the flower crown in the males hand and shook his head. He’d thought about wearing them in the past but thought that they wouldn’t necessarily look good on him. In the end he gave in and took the flower crown and placed it on top of his head, a small grin stretching over his lips as he looked over at his new friend.
“Do I look good?” He chortled while walking over toward the mirror to get a better look at himself.
Lu Han gasped the second the other took the flower crown from him and placed it on his own head. It took a lot of convincing, but he knew he’d give in at some point. It went a lot easier than he expected though. He thought he would’ve had to pull out a few of his ‘secret’ weapons. Though, if he was being truthfully, he didn’t have any. Who could deny a face like his anyway?
“You look perfect, silly!” He joined in on the laugh for a moment then wandered behind the counter to pull out a small hand mirror instead, rushing in front of him so he’d look there instead. “What do you think?”
@flwrhn liked for a short starter!
「 ☁ 」 “I am not wearing that.”
Lu Han held up a flower crown over his own head then his new friend’s, looking over at the other for a second with his cheeks puffed.
“Do it for me?”

Speaking of weddings…. When is yours?
What do you mean when is mine, should I ask when is yours?
My dream is to cater for a wedding. I’ll probably never make it there, but the thought is... nice !

That may have been an exaggeration, but he wasn’t kidding. He understood that a company had a lot of idols signed under it and had probably ten times that in regular employees, but he never understand why it had to be so big. Each artist could have their own floor. There could be one for a lobby and another for corporate and that would be it. There really wasn’t a need for it to be like a skyscraper, then again he didn’t really know what all went into it and there probably was a good reason for it all. Still, the elevator ride up was testing his patience. The amount of people crammed in it wasn’t helping any either.

He stared at the text for another moment, unsure of what to say next. He thought about cracking a joke, but he wasn’t sure how the other would take it. He wouldn’t consider the girl to be a friend yet, acquaintance didn’t exactly work either because the two haven’t a decent conversation yet. ‘Oh well,’ he thought.

[ SMS ] How did you get this number?
Lu Han wanted to send another text, try to figure out who texted him and try to remember if he gave his number out to the stranger or someone he knew passed his number along, which he didn’t mind but a name would be nice. He didn’t have to time to do that right now though. He had to focus on running. Something, someone — He didn’t know what it was, but it was chasing him. When he managed to round a corner and find a safe place to hide, he pulled out his phone to shoot the mysterious person another text.
