Sorry I just. I would say I'm speechless but I'm not. I have so much to say but so little to say. It's obvious Weekes has never EVER questioned their role as a white person or whiteness in general within larger society. That somehow, everything they have lived has been because of or due to being white. I don't like to assume anything of a very fraction of what you see online but I can't come to any other conclusion based on the scant information coming out today directly from their own mouth.

Frankly I'm just. Appalled? Genuinely appalled? You can label yourself and your work as progressive and stand by these views uncritically, and in fact say them proudly, to praise and support. You shut down any sort of non-positive interaction only to engage in anything that doesn't make you stop to think for a moment on what you're saying and creating. I can't imagine how you would handle this offline if anyone were to approach you and your work to try and mitigate the harm caused by being so unself-critical.

Like. I just what do I even say that would mean anything or at least haven't been said by others before? My god.
