“I really don’t feel well.”
“I think there’s some painkillers somewhere in my bag. You want me to find them for you?”
Lennox watched the man as he took another drink before speaking up again. “Now what did you say your name was again?”
“Flynn,” he replied with a small grin. “And yours?”
“Lucky you that you don’t need to share it with me then right?” She offered him a small polite smile before handing back the bottle. “Thanks though.”
“No problem,” he said, grabbing the bottle again and taking a quick drink before he screwed the cap back on it.
“Hey, you shouldn’t have left the door open. How was I to know that this place was already taken?”
“Would’ve thought all my stuff would’ve given it away.”
“Whiskey?” She brought the alcohol up to her nose. “It sure as hell does not taste like any whiskey I’ve ever had.”
Flynn shrugged. “It’s Johnnie Walker. I was lucky to find it.”
“anyone would think that you’ve never seen a guy shirtless before.”
“Yeah well usually when I see them I’ve invited them into my home and they haven’t just let themselves in.”
“Not too hard please.”
“Yeah, sure thing. Wouldn’t want to rudely awake the princess with loud knocking or anything like that.”
“I’ve found myself lacking social skills recently. I really must work on that.”
“Yeah, you should. Don’t want you becoming a hermit.”
“If I hurt myself, I want compensation.” She joked before attempting to hit the punching bag
“Yeah yeah, sure thing,” he laughed, shaking his head a little. “That’s... not bad. Now again, come on. Give it all you’ve got.”
“Okay, so all I have do is hit the bag?”
“Yep. Go for it, as hard as you can.”
“Of course.” she said with a light smile. “It’s not often you hear someone play something acoustic and actually sing too.” she enjoyed music that way. “I always like listening to music live.”
“I guess not. Though I guess a lot of people just see it as a waste of time nowadays,” he shrugged a little.
Bailey was headed back to her makeshift camp when she heard the music. At first she was a bit startled, wondering who was even up for all that given the circumstances. The last person who had played had got them in a sticky situation. Nearing him, she found it was a familiar face.
“Just listening,” she replied, an easy shrug of her shoulder’s.
A smile crept onto Flynn’s lips as he realised who it was. “Ah right, okay.” He never really played in front of people, the only person he’d ever played for really was his mother. “How’ve you been?”
She was caught by the sound of the melody, surprised that she knew that song. Hearing the guitar version was beautiful, and her feet started taking her to where the noise was. Sky didn’t meant to startle him or interrupt his playing. “Sorry.” she stated as she leaned against the wall “It’s alluring.” she pointed to the guitar.
Flynn shook his head a little. “It’s fine, don’t worry about it,” he replied, resting his arms on top of the guitar a little as he waited for her response. “Is it?”
It had been a while since Flynn had played. He hadn’t even come across a decent guitar in what seemed like forever, it took a few moments for him to get the feel of it again. As he played, he sang quietly to himself. His mother loved the song- Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls. He used to play it for her, before all of this. It reminded him of her and it was sort of comforting in a way.
It took him longer than it should have to notice the person stood watching him. But when he did, he quickly stopped and looked up at them. “Can I help you?”
“I’m very cheery right now. You just gotta take every possibility into consideration, ‘s all.”
“Yeah yeah, alright. I’ll knock next time.”
“What if I shot you? Would you have found it funny then?”
“Oh come on. Lighten up a little.”
qjayxdawson:
“It’s not funny! You scared the shit out of me.”
“Gotta admit, it was kinda funny.”
