this blog is alive,right?
This is just offensive.Â
God FORBID you make a girl look even slightly close to chubby!!! what a fucking nightmare that would be!!!
So I asked Christopher hart if he would do a tutorial on lgbtq+ themes like agender characters and such. He said that in his girl power book there was gender bend stuff. I'm not sure about you but I never felt gender bending accurately represented non gender binary people. I expressed this to him and he blocked me.
YIKES
I came across this on amazon, and for a second i thought this was an actual t-shirt available for purchase. Unfortunately, it is not.
Iâd buy it.
So, I've noticed in Chris (S)Hart's art that he has a running theme of drawing the eyes over the hair. It must be really painful for those pretty shoujo girls to have their hair forcefully, but neatly tucked into their eye sockets by Chris.
To be perfectly fair, there are a lot of anime and manga out there that take liberty with showing characterâs eyes through hair or glasses, itâs just the way CH decides to do it always looks awkward.Â
Bruh Chris Hart is a black dude...
wrong person my dude
Why does Hart-sama assume that the average weight for a high school girl is 99 pounds? Tis a mystery. (Taken from manga mania girl power)
The average weight for a high school girl looks to be more like 115-125 pounds so it looks like he just underestimated. More annoying is his insistence that âall characters from this genre are all like this and act like this and dress like this!!â Like, constantly encouraging people to create stereotypes instead of you know...characters.
By the way, found some gems at B&B the other day. Can all you furry follows confirm that this is super legit? I mean he's never wrong!
OH BOY.

I recently discovered the âHawkeye Initiativeâ, and I wondered to myself why no one has done this with Chris Hartâs work yet. I despise the way this smug fuck depicts âattractive womenâ.
Now, this isnât coming out of nowhere. When I was in my early teens, I picked up a buttload of Chris Hartâs books unwittingly because I had no idea what I was looking forâ and thatâs probably why heâs the âthe worldâs best-selling author of how-to-draw booksâ (According to his DeviantART page). I feel like this influence is a hindrance on my artwork to this day. Thanks, bro. Now live with what youâve created.
Letâs see just how uncomfortable he gets with me. Lmao.
Oh these are just gorgeous
This is a hideously ugly awfully-made banner, but the post didnât seem centered without one and maybe itâs ugliness proves my point in a way.
Anyway, that point - Bad art blogs.
Weâre all probably familiar with them, the type of blog that grabs the worst looking Ms Paint Wolfaboo art from deviantArt or elsewhere, and posts it. Thereâs serious harm to these blogs, and while sometimes finding oneâs art on a bad art blog gives you a laugh and convinces you to work harder, yesâŠ
For many others, itâs a huge discouragement which can turn them off from art or other creative exploits for years.Â
Not only that, but oftentimes art spaces frequented by kids and preteens are targeted, meaning many bad art blogs consist of adults  laughing at children. This is a gross exploitation of the rules against bullying on Tumblr, and Iâm absolutely disgusted by it.Â
And, another issue with these niche of art mocking blogs is the art reposting itself. If they remove watermarks and donât give links, it protects the artist somewhat and stops more violent adults from going to their profile and harassing them. But Tumblrâs updated rules make this banned, and one must provide a clear source link to art they post now. Bad art blogs are left in a Catch 22, and to be honest, Iâd like staff to take this into consideration.
The point of this blog is to share experiences with bad art blogs, and now, Iâd also like to ask for some assistance from you whoâve been sharing. Please contact Tumblr Staff, if you are able, and tell them they should make a specific rule banning bad art blogs. Itâs best to do it in your own words, but here is a basic template for inspiration.
Hello, Staff. Iâm <your url>. This post by badartblogspleasestop explains most of it, but I need to personally ask you, the Staff, if you could add a new rule.
Please put a specific rule in Community Guidelines or wherever you see fit that says âbad artâ blogs; blogs dedicated to posting âbadâ art, fanfiction, cosplay, RP, or other works in those categories that the owners post to mock. Bad art blogs are malicious and hurtful, and Iâm one of many who can see the damage they do.
I also suggest, if you have a story about a bad art blog saying something racist/disableist/transphobic/etc, which many of them do with no remorse, you should add it, and please add any stories you may have of things you or someone you know made being posted to be mocked.
Thank you for looking at this wall of text, and lastly, I must ask that you reblog this to signal boost, so mayhaps we can actually make some impact and remove these blogs.
This is a bad art blog focusing on the work of an adult "professional" artist who sells their work for money. I make fun of CH for acting like an expert while giving young artists bad advice. But there are other blogs out there that like to take shots ant young, developing artists in a pitiful attempt to wring some humor out of their work. As someone who faced similar harsh criticism of my art at a young age I can tell you the results can be devastating. Young artists, people just starting out, or anyone who's trying to improve should be able to draw what they like, to learn and grow without being mocked by strangers on the internet. I guess this is a reminder that for every piece of """"Bad Art"""" out there, there's a real life human being behind it who has the potential to be hurt by bad art blogs. Keep that in mind before partaking in any public ridicule.
Fresh from his deviantArt page. I donât understand how something like this could possibly require that much drawing and rubbing out⊠unless⊠Chris Hart canât draw⊠which of course he canât. He claims this is a tutorial that he kindly drew for his followers (for free! But hereâs the link to buy all my books!), but itâs just a mess. He also has a pathological aversion to drawing ears⊠probably because theyâre difficult. I like that he felt it necessary to sign and date this masterpiece. Iâm glad heâs so proud of himself.Â
Itâs got that quality where I wouldnât make fun of it on its own because tbh itâs not the worst thing Iâve ever seen, but at the same time I remember that the person who drew this considers themselves a expert in âmangaâ and sells people books on how to draw.
(Up) is Christopher Hartâs art Â
(down) Â my interpretations of his art
for me this took only  7 years of art skills and 3 minutes of my life ( my more recent drawings look a little bit better)
I donât exactly like Chris Hart but what he needs to do is take criticism  and not get so defensive* like damn son*, that is how I got my art to evolve and make it more refined :l
but they eyes arenât huge and thereâs no big hair shine
is this even really animeÂ
What how to draw books would you recommend?
One series that comes to mind is the Shojo Fashion series. As the name implies, it does have a focus on clothing, but the books do feature a fair amount of anatomy and character design tips as well. These books stand out to me as not only having a very competent artist behind them (seriously, check out her blog), but also for featuring more than skinny, white, big-eyed anime girls. There are different body types (idk which but there is a book that has a section on drawing plus size characters/clothes), a variety of ethnicities represented, and even some middle aged and elderly characters. These books are great reference for clothing of all kind, from casual outfits to formal wear. Theyâre in most bookstores/craft stores so theyâre definitely worth checking out!
On DeviantART does Chris Hart come off as robotic to you or is that just me?
tbh half his posts and most of the comments feel like the bastard child of an underpaid PR person and a spambot
