TITLE: Green Hill Orchestra
ARTIST: Blake Robinson
I could have sworn we shared this all ready. But it’s not in our archive, nor in our records, so let’s share it all ready! It’s Green Hill Zone time again, and we all know this iconic level deserves some orchestra goodness, am I right? This remix is appropriately cinematic while also being somewhat light and whimsical. Now Green Hill not only sounds like a place of action, but a place of wonder!
Download it here.

Since it can’t be stressed enough on the 27th anniversary, I’d like to reiterate to fellow Sonic fans that:
It’s okay to be a Sonic fan.
No, seriously, it’s okay to be a Sonic fan.
You don’t need to be self-deprecating in order to be a “respectable” Sonic fan. You can afford to have actual pride in what you love. You can acknowledge its faults, yes, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wholeheartedly love what you love. You can love Sonic unironically and unashamedly.
Don’t ever let anyone antagonize you or make you feel guilty for being a Sonic fan. They’re the one with the problem, not you.
ENJOY yourself. Have FUN. Carry on loving your favourite characters, your favourite stories, and your favourite games. Carry on expressing your passion for the Sonic franchise through whatever means you deem fit, because it’s not harming anybody. Life’s too short to worry about the judgements of people who ultimately don’t matter in your life.
I’ve been a Sonic fan for 15 years, and I’ve had my 15 years worth of memorable playthroughs, great characters, and fandom relationships, including that of my significant other. That train is not going to stop at the station just because a bunch of losers who I don’t even know beyond the veil of anonymity can’t stand the fact that a video game series about technicolor anthros and checkered hillsides continues to be alive and well. These people have no control over me.
Why should they have control over you?
Carry on playing, and carry on enjoying. It’s what Sonic would do.
Happy 27th birthday sonic
Sonic is kind of an embarrassing thing to be a fan of, I can't blame reviewers for being harsh on it and its fans
You know what else has had bad installments and rabid fandoms?
Nearly every other franchise that has ever existed.
Sonic does not deserve to be singled out for his less-then-stellar games while every other franchise gets a free pass for their own problems, because he’s still had plenty of great games, including the very recent Sonic Mania. And no matter how many people try to insist that Sonic was “never good”, the impact that this franchise brought cannot be denied. If Sonic was never good, something like ‘06 would have killed him off. The fact that he survived even that is a testament to the franchise’s influence.
As for being a fan… what’s the problem with being a Sonic fan specifically? What makes Sonic as a franchise so unfortunate to claim yourself a fan of, compared to other franchises? Sonic has appealed to countless amounts of people around the globe since 1991, therefore creating legions of fans, and said fans like to pay tribute to what makes them happy through the mediums of fanart, fanfiction, etc. Depending on the person, different things grab their attention, be it the cool speedy gameplay, the endearing characters, the interesting art styles, you name it.
This is standard routine. This applies to every other franchise out there, so what makes this one different? What makes this one “embarrassing”?
I’ll tell you what the real embarrassment is:
Seeing grown adults dedicate so much of their time to a franchise they don’t even like.
Seeing grown adults pick on fans, children included, for liking what they don’t like, and for daring to express passion about what they like.
Seeing grown adults publicly shame fans and put them all in the one boat for the sake of a cheap laugh, all the while acting holier than thou.
That is embarrassing.
i was drawing sonic character fusions in the sonic server im in and @squeakybat suggested an unlikely combination of silver and rouge and honestly???
