Her words attempted to rid him of guilt. Of the sin and of the blood on his hands. Despite this, he still felt responsible for her dying. Certainly, she’d been protecting them although it was entirely his fault for her to have needed to protect them in the first place. If he had not been so foolish, so consumed to try and control the Seventh Fonon….. then perhaps she would not have died as horribly.
He would continue to regret it for the rest of his life, possibly longer.
If Jade was honest with himself, he would never let go of his former teacher. Her being here was something no one had forseen, not even the Score itself. Slowly, he pulled away from the hug and stepped back a tiny bit. Feeling a bit better, he seemed to put his composed mask back on. “I can certainly help you catch up on what you missed, although you might not like exactly what we’ve all been up to. It’s quite horrid.”
As soon as her student pulled away, Gelda quickly wiped away any tears that may have managed to escape from her eyes with a gloved hand. Perhaps she was a bit too proud to worry anyone, especially one of her students. It was clear to her, any events past her death must have had a toll on him.
Still, from what he said, she couldn’t help but wonder…What was it that he meant? Her mind went back to Saphir, how she couldn’t find anything about him for the past decade or so, and the warning from Jade…Did he do something to get himself killed-?! Oh Yulia, she hoped that wasn’t the case… For now, however, she’d have to push that thought out of her mind.
“Don’t worry, Jade. I’m certain it’s nothing I haven’t heard before.” she says, though she hoped it was nothing as bad as what she’s done, accident or not.
It is still painful as she spoke, like his heart is continually being squeezed. Jade did not dare to let his mask slip again, lest he return to the days of old when he was merely a child. He was still struggling to process this information. If it were Dist in his place, Jade knew he'd be ecstatic and ready to drag her to him. His head hurt just thinking about it.
But this is the first time Jade thought of his old professor as naïve. If she knew everything, would she see him as a monster? See him as someone who only toyed with something he never should have? His back stung with pain that was not there, reminding him of her replica. Jade's smile faltered a bit.
Would she know?
“Have you ever tried to being someone back to life, Professor?” It was not the best question to ask, so he tried again. “Would you have done anything in your power to see them again, even if it meant gaining a title you never wished to have?”

A nice town. It was rather cold, however… Apple held her arms close to her, trying to keep warm. Curse her sleeveless fashion… Chirithy did their best in attempting to keep their keyblade wielder warm by clinging to her shoulder and rubbing their fur on her. It didn’t seem to help, though, considering her rather dreary mood didn’t improve in the slightest.
“We just had to go to the coldest place…”
She blinked, stopping in her steps. Across the street, Apple spotted small black creatures she knew too well– surrounding a man.
Gasping, Apple quickly summoned Starlight and raced to the scene. “Don’t worry, sir ! I’ve got th… is…” The apprentice skidded to a halt, seeing black splatters of heartless remains on the snow below. What ? Had he finished them off ? With what ? Magic ?? “Oh… Erm…”
He had merely come here to deliver a letter to the resort, not wishing to linger too long in the place of his past. Jade had merely been on his way to go see his sister, as was custom on these trips if only to see if she was alright. There were strange creatures that came out of the ground, impeding his progress. They moved their heads around, looking for something before locking on to Jade.
Possibly seeing him as nothing but an easy target. He sighed as the familiar glyph for Indignation appeared under his feet and the fonons reacted in kind. “Attacking an old man? Might as well destroy you before you even think of it.”
They lunged.
Lightning struck, creating a dome of energy that destroyed each little strange creature in range. Black splattered the ground as a trophy of his victory. He heard rushed footsteps and slowly turned to look. An unfamiliar woman with an unfamiliar weapon. He analyzed her, wondering if she were responsible for this failed assault.
“Well, this is a surprise. Have you come to attack me as well?” Jade asked as he stepped towards the girl. “I'm afraid your little ambush has failed.”

Jade had merely been changing clothes and had yet to put his shirt on when a voice caught him off-guard. Turning to the source, quite quickly too, he pulled his shirt on quickly. A female.
“So you saw it.” A scar from his mistake years ago, when the replica had tried to kill him when his back was turned. “I ask that you not tell anyone of it. Odd questions will arise.”
Your muse catches sight of a pretty nasty scar they didn’t know mine had, how does your muse react?

It was not a bad joke then, was it? Jade could remember clearly how she died, remembered feeling upset as she laid there in the snow while bleeding out. All the failed experiments to replicate her, to bring back the one person he had respected…..
His hand shook a little as he pulled off his glove, reaching over to see if his hand would pass through.
It did not. It remained on her shoulder, telling Jade this, was real. That Nebilim was alive, that she was really here. A part of him was relieved that it did not happen when he was younger, that this was the perfect time for a miracle to happen like this. She was still the same as he remembered and that was what hurt the most.
“It’s been… some time since your death, Professor.” Jade removed his hand from her shoulder, putting his glove back on. “Though… I have to apologize. I didn’t mean to kill you.”
It was an accident and he knew it. But it did not erase the fact that Jade had killed her. As he spoke, his voice broke at some parts. Jade hated it. All his years of hiding everything, perfecting the sarcastic and snarky mask was gone. “I was young, but the fact remains that your blood is on my hands. Had I not attempted to cast that spell, you wouldn’t of died.
“I’m so sorry, Professor.” He was not crying. His voice continued to break at every moment, betraying him and everything he’d built to that point. He was physically shaking with grief, unable to hold it back. Every memory, every failed replication attempt…. it all bombarded him at once. Without warning, he closed the distance and hugged her. Something he had never thought he would do.
“Welcome home…”
The professor did not move when Jade reached out to her. She could tell…Quite a bit has indeed changed since her death, perhaps more than she originally thought. Jade had never reacted like this to anything she said when he was just a boy, always calm and collected compared to his sister and friends. It seems the whole accident had a stronger affect on him than she’d hoped. They always say that pain was a magnificent teacher, but at what cost?Such a thing shouldn’t require anyone to suffer.
When it came to her students, she’d hoped they never had to face the guilt she had.
“Jade…” she started, but paused to find the right words. “I did not die because of you, not how you’re seeing it at least. I died to ensure your safety, and Saphir’s too. I was worried that something may have happened when I’d yet to see you anywhere, but the fact that you’re still alive makes it all alrigh-”
Though, the last bit of her words were quickly interrupted by the hug, and she couldn’t help laughing. Yes, Jade really has changed quite a bit, hasn’t he? Oh, but wait, she can’t go crying now! Even if they are more happy than sad, she’ll only wind up making him cry for all she knows!
“I’m glad to be home.” she says as she gladly returns the hug to him, “You’ll have to help me catch up with everything. There’s so much I haven’t gotten to figure out, and you’re the first of my students I’ve been able to see again…”

“Oh dear.”
His office had seemingly been raided in the night. With this raiding came the fact that he had lost his spare set of glasses. Not that he really needed them but Jade did not wish to wreck havoc on Grand Chokmah. He had looked everywhere, under everything and even in the books. There was a silent plea that he had only misplaced them. One broken set from accidentally stepping on them and one missing set from the raid.
He needed to find them.
It turned into a search. A big one. Jade was attempting to scour every part of Grand Chokmah for the thieves. Maybe he had cleaned his office and misplaced them but that was highly unlikely with his office in a state of disarray and chaos. Spotting a familiar face, Jade quickly made his way over.
“Guy, I need your assistance,” Jade stated once he caught up to the other man. “It’s a matter of dire importance.”
The morning passes quickly most days, and before he knows it the high afternoon sun is beating down upon his city and himself without a care to be had. Indeed, it’s nearly mid-day when he finally makes it beyond his doorstep to head for the palace; even if it’s his day off, he feels some sort of obligation to check in with Peony and offer his services however they may be required. Besides, while he’s still waiting on a certain part to be delivered in, he doesn’t have much else to do with his free time.
“Oh, Jade!” He’s caught on the way, though, by a familiar figure in quite an unfamiliar state. Even if he’s doing his best to keep composure, there are certain nuances about the colonel that speak to some level of distress. And, of course, the most obvious feature—
Pleased, at first, to see the other, he quickly begins to understand the situation. “Your glasses–” He’s a bit more concerned than Jade, simply because he doesn’t quite understand as well. He knows the glasses that come as constant companion are important for keeping his incredible power limited, but to what extent he can go without them is a nerve-wracking question.
“Don’t tell me you lost them.”
Guy was certainly quick on the uptake, even if he was wrong on all counts. Sighing heavily, he went to push his glasses back up, momentarily forgetting that they were not there.
“No, Guy. I broke them.” Admitting that was not too hard, although Jade was certain that it was not the best thing to admit. “Last night, in fact, though it was on accident. I went to retrieve my spare set this morning and found them missing. So you see, it puts me in quite the predicament.” A dire predicament. He did not exactly know how long he could repress his power before it went berserk, so he had to act quickly. “If they're not found soon, we might as well say goodbye to over half of Grand Chokmah.”
Certainly scare tactics weren't the best but, to get the proper results, Jade had to impliment them. He was, at this point, basically a ticking time bomb without a set explosion.
I had decided on a power nap but I slept longer than I should have. I will be doing writing here shortly.
☽:What is their alignment?
Lawful Neutral. Though it sort of irritates him, as he was more of a Chaotic Neutral in his youth.
🌟:Do they consider themselves a good person?
Not in the least bit! Jade has never considered himself a good person, despite what others have said! In fact, he considers himself the main reason that things have gone very wrong and thinks of himself as the "main bad person of Auldrant". He believes that, if it were not for him being born, everything would have fixed itself. He keeps this feeling locked away with everything else that bothers him and pretends he agrees with the notion that he is a good person.
After all, they do say a person's worst enemy is themselves.
🌹
🌹: When would they tell a lie?
Whenever it suits him. Jade has a tenancy to lie about varying things, such as his joints aching and being old. This is mainly to get out of whatever it is he does not want to do. The best one was when he lied about being frail since birth and even coughed as to make it seem like he was telling the truth! If it is in honesty, Jade will probably lie about anything unless it is a more serious matter.

Certainly this had an explanation. Jade was not even going to ask what had brought this on though he merely wondered if it had been worth it to end up with dinner exploding everywhere. This cook certainly was bad.
He glanced over to the other poor soul who had gotten caught in the blast. An unfamiliar face. At least Jade was not alone in this. He returned his attention to the cook. “It seems that you owe this man an apology, Gabriel.”
The cook muttered an apology before going back to attempting to cook. Jade sighed, looking back to the unfamiliar man. “This is quite the disaster. Wouldn't you say so?”
