I have over 1100 HQ photos to sort through an post tonight, but for now enjoy this pic of Harry with a pride flag!
pleeeeeaaaaase donât make fun of people for being overenthusiastic about their interests. if you see someone getting really excited about something and you think itâs a good idea to ruin their fun (and donât think people donât notice your eye rolls and side glances) youâre an asshole

November: Christmas prep month and post halloween depression month
December: Christmas month
Every other month: sad time
Okay, but consider this...
Modern fantasy creatures and people being exposed to new lifestyles and developing dreams and goals that donât fit with their species or their culture in the slightest.
A dwarf who was born in a mine, grew up in a mine, and can count the number of times theyâve been surface-side on both hands. One of these times, they witnessed an airshow. They go home and tell their parents: âMom, Dad, I want to be a pilot.â âWhatâs a pilot?â âWeâll, yâseeâŠâ And a brief explanation later⊠âYOU WANT TO DO WHAT? WHERE DID WE GO WRONG? DAMN IT, ROK, I TOLD YOU THAT THE SUN WOULD GO TO HIS HEAD. NOW HE THINKS HE CAN FUCKING FLY, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!
An elf who has a deep interest in geology and underground exploration signs up for a dwarven digging mission. Shows up first day all long limbs and being seven feet tall, and has to become a 90 degree angle to get through the door. âHey guys! Whoâs ready to look at some rocks? Am I right? Well, itâs a tight fit, but I bet I can do it if I squeeze. Ooh, I know some great digging songs by the way.â The dwarves immediately try to find a way to fire the elf without being sued for racial discrimination. âI told you we should have been more careful about the ad.â âI put in it Gold and Gems Monthly, Brek, how was I to know elves read that kind of thing?â âOHMIGOSH, GUYS COME SEE WHAT I FOUND!â âYour turn, Nik.â âI swear to God, if itâs another goddamn stalagmite againâŠâÂ
A centaur whose herd migrates to a coast area and sees the ocean for the first time. âGreyhoof, Iâm going to be a fisherman.â âWhat?â âIâm going to sail the seven seas; I want to be a sailor.â âBlackmane, youâre half horse, you canât sail.â âI can learn.â âYou canât climb their weird ropes things. What would you even do on the ocean?â âItâs called rigging and Iâd be a fisherman, obviously, like I told you.â âYOUâRE A CENTAUR, YOU CANâT SAIL!â âYOU DONâT KNOW THAT. DONâT TRY AND DESTROY MY DREAMS, GREYHOOF, I CAN DO ANYTHING I SET MY MIND TO. I BELIEVE IN ME.â
A mermaid who gets really interested in those land mountains that touch the clouds and meets an extreme mountain-climber on the beach, then decides theyâve found their calling. âIâm going to be the first mermaid to climb Mount Everest.â âWhat? Bluefins, thatâs ridiculous.â âNo, no, Iâm gonna do it.â âYou canât breathe air.â âIâll bring a tank of water, like what the humans do with air when they dive.â âYOU DONâT HAVE LEGS.â âI know, thatâs whatâll make me the first mermaid to do it. Iâm going to have to work around that, butâ âFOR FUCKâS SAKE, BLUEFINS. WEâRE TROPICAL.â âNo, see, there are these human things called coats. Iâve got it all figured out. Look, I drew plans.â âWITH WHAT?â
This speaks to me today.
Centaur pirates who build their own ship to be centaur accessible and it looks a lot different than human ships - the doors are high and tall, they donât need bunks bc they can sleep standing up, wooden ladders wide enough to put your hooves on, living on hay and fish mostly while on sea-

When a "die-hard conservative Republican" woman moves to Canada and encounters the universal healthcare there, cultures clash.
by Vyckie Garrison | Reality Check
When I moved to Canada in 2008, I was a die-hard conservative Republican. So when I found out that we were going to be covered by Canadaâs Universal Health Care, I was somewhat disgusted. This meant we couldnât choose our own health coverage, or even opt out if we wanted too. It also meant that abortion was covered by our taxes, something I had always believed was horrible. I believed based on my politics that government mandated health care was a violation of my freedom.
[âŠ]
Fast forward a little past the Canadian births of my third and fourth babies. I had better prenatal care than I had ever had in the States. I came in regularly for appointments to check on my health and my babiesâ health throughout my pregnancy, and I never had to worry about how much a test cost or how much the blood draw fee was. With my pregnancies in the States, I had limited my checkups to only a handful to keep costs down. When I went in to get the shot I needed because of my negative blood type, it was covered. In fact I got the recommended 2 doses instead of the more risky 1 dose because I didnât have to worry about the expense. I had a wide array of options and flexibility when it came to my birth, and care providers that were more concerned with my health and the health of my baby than how much money they might make based on my birth, or what might impact their reputation best. When health care is universal, Drs are free to recommend and provide the best care for every patient instead of basing their care on what each patient can afford.
I found out that religious rights were still respected. The Catholic hospital in the area did not provide abortions, and they were not required too. I had an amazing medically safe birth, and excellent post-natal care with midwives who had to be trained, certified and approved by the medical system.
I started to feel differently about Universal government mandated and regulated Health care. I realized how many times my family had avoided hospital care because of our lack of coverage. When I mentioned to Canadians that I had been in a car accident as a teen and hadnât gone into the hospital, they were shocked! Here, you always went to the hospital, just in case. And the back issue I had since the accident would have been helped by prescribed chiropractic care which would have been at no cost to me. When I asked for prayers for my little brother who had been burned in a camping accident, they were all puzzled why the story did not include immediately rushing him to the hospital. When they asked me to clarify and I explained that many people in the States are not insured and they try to put off medical care unless absolutely needed, they literally could not comprehend such a thing.

This is a long read but worth it. A lot of Americans have huge misconceptions about socialized healthcare, and this article goes a long way in dispelling some of the myths.
I bolded my favorite parts but here are some other things from the article I liked:
In Canada, midwives and doctors were both respected, and often worked together.Â
I never went to the doctor growing up, we didnât have health insurance, and my parents preferred a conservative naturopathic doctor anyways. And the doctor I had used for my first 2 births was also a conservative Christian. So I had never seen information on birth control and STDs. One of the pamphlets read âPregnant Unexpectedly?â so I picked it up, wondering what it would say. The pamphlet talked about adoption, parenthood, or abortion. It went through the basics of what each option would entail and ended by saying that these choices were up to you. I was horrified that they included abortion on the list of options, and the fact that the pamphlet was so balanced instead of âpro-life.âÂ
I started to wonder why I had been so opposed to government mandated Universal Health care. Here in Canada, everyone was covered. If they worked full-time, if they worked part-time, or if they were homeless and lived on the street, they were all entitled to the same level of care if they had a medical need. People actually went in for routine check-ups and caught many of their illnesses early, before they were too advanced to treat. People were free to quit a job they hated, or even start their own business without fear of losing their medical coverage. In fact, the only real complaint I heard about the universal health care from the Canadians themselves, was that sometimes there could be a wait time before a particular medical service could be provided. But even [..] in the States most people had to wait for medical care, or even be denied based on their coverage.
In Canada, the wait times were usually short, and applied to everyone regardless of wealth.
I never experienced excessive wait times, I was accepted for maternity care within a few days or weeks, I was able to find a family care provider nearby easily and quickly, and when a child needed to be brought in for a health concern I was always able to get an appointment within that week.
the percentage rates of abortion are far lower in Canada than they are in the USA, where abortion is not covered by insurance and is often much harder to get. In 2008 Canada had an abortion rate of 15.2 per 1000 women (In other countries with government health care that number is even lower), and the USA had an abortion rate of 20.8 abortions per 1000 women. And suddenly I could see why that was the case. With Universal coverage, a mother pregnant unexpectedly would still have health care for her pregnancy and birth even if she was unemployed, had to quit her job, or lost her job.Â
If she was informed that she had a special needs baby on the way, she could rest assured knowing in Canada her childâs health care needs would be covered. Whether your child needs therapy, medicines, a caregiver, a wheelchair, or repeated surgeries, it would be covered by the health care system. Here, you never heard of parents joining the army just so their childâs âpre-existingâ health care needs would be covered.
In fact, when a special needs person becomes an adult in Canada, they are eligible for a personal care assistant covered by the government. We saw far more developmentally or physically disabled persons out and about in Canada, than I ever see here in the USA. They would be getting their groceries at the store, doing their business at the bank, and even working job, all with their personal care assistant alongside them, encouraging them and helping them when they needed it. When my sister came up to visit, she even commented on how visible special needs people were
I also discovered that the Canadian government looked out for itâs families in other ways. The country mandates one year of paid maternity leave, meaning a woman having a baby gets an entire year after the birth of her baby to recover and parent her new baby full-time, while still receiving 55% of her salary and their job back at the end of that year. Either parent can use the leave, so some split it, with one parent staying at home for 6 months and the other staying at home for 6 months.
Since all of these benefits are available to everyone, I never heard Canadians talking about capping their incomes to remain lower income and not lose their government provided health coverage. Older people in Canada donât have to clean out their assets to qualify for some Medicare or Social Security programs,
God, just read the whole thing. Itâs awesome.

Whaaa? Universal healthcare isnât evil? WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT
A breeze ruffled the neat hedges of Privet Drive, which lay silent and tidy under the inky sky, the very last place you would expect astonishing things to happen. Harry Potter rolled over inside his blankets without waking up. One small hand closed on the letter beside him and he slept on, not knowing he was special, not knowing he was famous, not knowing he would be woken in a few hoursâ time by Mrs. Dursleyâs scream as she opened the front door to put out the milk bottles, nor that he would spend the next few weeks being prodded and pinched by his cousin DudleyâŠHe couldnât know that at this very moment, people meeting in secret all over the country were holding up their glasses and saying in hushed voices:Â
âTo Harry Potter - the boy who lived!â
Hereâs Which Harry Potter Character You Are Based On Your Myers-Briggs Personality Type
ISTJ â Harry Potter Principled, single-minded and selflessly devoted to the pursuit of justice, Harry was a textbook ISTJ. Though he was not always a fan of the spotlight heâd been forced into, Harry took his role as a warrior against dark magic incredibly seriously. Â He was prepared to go to any lengths necessary to defend what he believed to be right â demonstrating classic ISTJ conduct. Â Â
INFP â Luna Lovegood Romantic, speculative and perceptive of connections that evaded others, Luna Lovegood was a classic INFP. Though her head-in-the-clouds nature was certainly an exaggeration of the norm for this type, she was anything but shallow or unintelligent. Luna was sharp, fearless and loyal where it mattered â and throughout the Harry Potter series, it mattered a lot.Â
ENTP â Fred and George Weasley Clever, opportunistic and mischievous to the core, Fred and George Weasley were clear-cut ENTPs. They saw opportunities absolutely everywhere and considered no idea too fanciful to bring to fruition. Their quick wit and personable natures kept them out of any trouble that they encountered â they were the ultimate Harry Potter bad boys and they pulled it off with the effortless charm that only ENTPs can truly manage.
ESTJ â Minerva McGonagall Sharp, strict and fiercely protective of her loved ones, Professor McGonagall displayed all the best traits of a well-developed ESTJ. She didnât mind looking like the bad guy when it came to discipline, so long as it served the greater good of protecting those under her watch. She made every decision based on logic and loyalty â the two main principles that governed her life.
INFJ â Albus Dumbledore Wise, introspective and eerily adept at understanding the motivations of others, Dumbledore was the epitome of a well-developed INFJ. He was fiercely analytical when it came to determining right from wrong and he was frequently able to see things in a universal scheme rather than simply referring to what was immediately apparent. Dumbledoreâs wise, protective nature represented the INFJ archetype in its most developed form. Â
ESFP â Ron Weasley Adaptive, present-oriented and sometimes entirely indecisive, Ron offered a sweet portrayal of the loyal ESFP type. Though his bravery wasnât always center stage, Ron was willing to put his own needs (and fears) aside to battle alongside his loved ones. Heâd always rather be doing something than dwelling on something, which makes him the perfect companion and sidekick for the no-nonsense ISTJ Harry.Â
ISFP â Rubeus Hagrid Sweet, protective half-giant Hagrid offered an unconventional look at the ISFP personality type. While he was certainly an introverted personality â living alone always suited him best â he became passionately involved with any neglected creature he came across and held the people (and animals) he loved close. Hagridâs spacey yet devoted attitude was a breath of fresh air in the Harry Potter series â just as ISFPs so often are in real life.
ESFJ â Molly Weasley Selfless, worrisome and â above all else â endlessly devoted to her family, Molly Weasley portrayed the tried and true ESFJ mother archetype. Every scene we saw Molly in showed her fussing over one of her children or loved ones â she wanted nothing more than to know that the people she cared about were happy, healthy and taken care of. She was an undeniable extroverted feeler.Â
ISTP â Cedric Diggory Coordinated, rational and naturally perceptive of systems in his external environment, Cedric Diggory was an excellent example of the ISTP personality. His natural inclination towards cracking codes and surmounting physical obstacles made him a shoe-in for the Triwizard Tournament â until, of course, he died in it.
ENFJ â Lily Evans Potter Though Lily Potter appeared only in flashback scenes throughout the series, her personality was undeniably reminiscent of the ENFJ type. Outspoken, empathetic and just, Lily was the quintessential âmentorâ personality. She exceeded her peers in maturity and stuck up unabashedly for the underdog. Lily was adept at seeing the good in people and was self-sacrificial to a fault â after all, her extroverted feeling was precisely what kept Harry alive.
ESTP â Ginny Weasley Outgoing, athletic and action-oriented to a fault, Ginny offered an interesting perspective on the ESTP personality portrayed in a female character. Despite being the youngest of a large family of wizards, Ginny didnât let anyone push her around. She knew what she wanted in life and never hesitated in going after it â she displayed the epitome of the ESTP attitude.Â
ENTJ â Draco Malfoy Decisive, analytical and naturally socially dominant, Draco Malfoy offered a fantastic portrayal of the ENTJ personality. In his younger days, Draco drew on his extroverted thinking to follow in the path of his villainous father and establish himself as an alpha personality. In his later years, Draco showed a drastic development in both introverted intuition and introverted feeling, which caused him to re-evaluate the dark direction in which his life was headed. Dracoâs character developed drastically throughout the Harry Potter series, offering a glimpse of the ENTJ personality at both its worst and â in flashes â its best.Â
ENFP â Nymphadora Tonks Quick-tempered, passionate and fiercely devoted to whatever cause she took on, Nymphadora Tonks offered a spot-on portrayal of the ENFP personality. Though clumsy and unconventional by nature, Tonks got by on her metamorphic abilities â she could quickly change into whatever form she needed to take on to achieve her objective. Her unorthodox transformational abilities were an oddly perfect metaphor for the ever-changing, fiercely determined personality of the ENFP.Â
INTP â Remus Lupin Guarded, analytical and tirelessly philosophical, Remus Lupin offered the best portrayal of an INTP that J.K. Rowling was willing to give us throughout the Harry Potter series. Lupin desired a logical solution for everything and despaired when logic failed him â his decision to marry Tonks, for example, was one that he deeply regretted after realizing his child may be born a werewolf. Though he was stood behind the Order of the Phoenix, Lupin wasnât one to believe whatever he heard â he took all new information with a grain of salt, which is an undeniable INTP trait.
ISFJ â Dobby Dutiful, nurturing and endlessly devoted to the people whose morals he believed in, Dobby was the undeniable embodiment of an ISFJ personality. Â Though itâs arguable that all house elves displayed ISFJ-like qualities, Dobby seemed to feel them on an absolute core level. Right to the end of his life, Dobby was focused on serving the people he loved. He was happiest when he was helping the people he loved â a classic ISFJ trait.
INTJ â Severus Snape One of the most brilliantly developed characters in the series, Severus Snape portrays a fantastic example of the sharp, calculating INTJ. Though cold and distant by nature, Snape displayed his loyalties through a clever deception of the Dark Lord. He was able to manipulate one of the most powerful wizards of all-time â a feat that could only truly be managed by a type as intuitive and stealthy as the INTJ.
I will reblog this every time.
Literally this.
