Wait, who's Gold?
Recently (it was recent when we wrote the post okay), Fool had a stream where he revealed how Gold Fool was alive. This was a big moment, but not everyone who was there to witness it understood why! This is a recap for those interested in the lore specific to this surprise.
Why are there multiple Fools?
During Gilded SMP, a hardcore series a couple years old at this point, Fool fell in-between reality/the void/the place between servers/it's complicated. This caused him to get ripped apart into different fools, with one fool per world (at least, that's how it's supposed to be. SBK2 is weird). This includes non Minecraft worlds like Subnautica!
Where is Gold Fool from?
Gold Fool comes from the majority of SBK1, serving as half of Birch Kingdom along with SadMilkman.
Why is Gold… gold?
Most Fools are the color of their primary emotion, such as red for anger. The color gold represents greed, notably for wanting more resources in the barren skyblock world. Gold had a greed for resources, a desire for people to be loyal to her, and out of everyone on the server she was most loyal to her island partner, Milkman. The two of them had a very strong bond, clear from the variety of petty crime they got up to together.
What happened to Gold Fool?
Gold Fool didn’t have the greatest time on SBK. He had his island partner stolen, then got accused of betrayal by said island partner, hosted a halloween ball that did not go as planned, etc. This lead to Gold getting so unstable and unwell that they essentially exploded. Fool has referred to it as "he thought himself to death".
Wait what?
Yup! Gold exploded from stress. If you were watching this from any other perspective, you would not have known about this! Librarian, another Fool, replaced Gold for the remainder of the series, and no one learned why Fool inexplicably changed colors.
So how is Gold alive?
