Biden and Zelensky planning to meet in Washington for Ukrainian president's first foreign trip since war began | CNN Politics

President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are planning to meet at the White House on Wednesday, according to two source

The trip is now official and the White House announced it.

Here are some details:

White House invited Ze on December 14, Ze accepted the invitation at Sunday (December 18)

Biden invited him

Ze's gonna spend a "half day visit" in USA. What that means, where he will appear, what his route will be, who he's going to meet - all top-secret to ensure his safety. Some details will be known, some will be not. After his "half day visit" is done, he immediately will return to Ukraine.

It will also be unknown who will accompany him (for the most part). The Ukrainian delegation remains top-secret for safety reasons (besides some official expectations).

White House said that they will talk about safety questions but not with whom from the team.

White House said Ze's calendar will be full (as in: full full).

Ze will meet Biden on lunch time. Unclear if they're going to have lunch.

After that: meeting of the Ukrainian Delegation with US Security Team and members of the government. Unclear who, where, when.

After that: Press Conference and interviews with media.

No more official (!) meetings.

Evening: Ze will speak infront of Congress in a special and extra session.

During Ze's stay, US wants to announce one of the biggest military help packages, including 2 billion dollars, PATRIOTS and more. A so far unknown third country will host the Ukrainian soldiers so they can learn how to handle the PATRIOTS.

White House also hopes that with Ze's visit, the Congress will agree on additional 45 billion $ for next year. Hence why Ze's personal visit and speech is so important - it's happening during the days where they decide and vote on it.

White House promised that Biden will not ask Ze to start negotiations with Russia / Putin. There will be no pressure and no demands of that kind. Quite the contrary: The White House and Congress will work together to ensure that Ukraine will have the best, strongest position during Winter on the battlefield.

The meeting is about solidarity, support and coordination of coming actions.

White House will not further comment on Ze's decision to travel, security concerns,... .

Little correction: It's unclear when the PC will take place. If after Biden's meeting, the Delegation meeting or at some other point.

And: Biden will not only welcome Ze, they will also held bilateral meetings.

Executions are not uncommon in Iran. Most executions happen without the world hearing about them. Therefore, while the Islamic Republic has officially announced 2 executions, it has carried out more and few details are known about such executions. 

According to Iran Human Rights, at least 333 were executed throughout the country in 2021 – the most since 2018. And the numbers so far for 2022 are on track to shatter that record, with 320 already executed in 2022, according to Iran Human Rights.

While some executions are carried out in public, many prisoners are secretly executed, without any witnesses present, therefore they often are not reported and captured, as the names and location of executions remain a secret. Even their crime remains unknown. 

Although Iran ranks second to China in terms of total number of executions carried out, on a per capita basis, it is ranked #1. Iran is the world’s leading executioner. There is no due process and there is systemic miscarriages of justice. 

This is one of the many reasons why Iranians are fighting for regime change.

i am a white guy, unconnected (in the past two hundreds years anyway- go back far enough; we're ALL BLOOD RELATIVES) but anyway i got in this four or three days after Jina died. i put so much in i actuelly stressed out and shutdown completely a few weeks ago. but after i recovered, i came back. do You know what has really helped me? that though i want so bad to be in Iran, taking people out, protecting, serving- i have found that even though i am so frustrated and upset, so often, i actuelly have made a difference. i do not know the extent. but it is real. and i am so grateful for that.

Israeli Archaeologists Discover The Tomb of Jesus Midwife Salome

Archaeologists have discovered the Cave of Salome, the midwife who delivered Jesus Christ, as they came across the carving in ancient Greek and Arabic: “Salome, who was Mary’s midwife.”

The Book of James, among early Christian writings called the Apochrypha and is not included in the Bible, describes Salome as doubting the account of the virgin birth. Stricken in one arm, she cradles the baby, proclaims him “a great king … born unto Israel” and is cured.

Work to prepare the 2,000-year-old cave for public access unearthed a 350-square-meter (3,767-square-foot) forecourt whose stone slabs and mosaic floors are consistent with a family tomb for prominent Jews, the Israel Antiquities Authority (IAA) said.

Also found were inscriptions – some in Arabic – and decorated oil lamps consistent with the site having served Christian pilgrims, including through to the ninth century after the Muslim conquest of the region, the IAA said.

The site, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) southwest of Bethlehem, has been known for generations as the Cave of Salome.

Earlier excavations located Jewish relics “but the surprise was the adaptation of the cave into a Christian chapel,” the IAA said. “Judging by the crosses and the dozens of inscriptions engraved on the cave walls in the Byzantine and early Islamic periods, the chapel was dedicated to the sacred Salome.”

Today the parents of Donya Farhadi have retrieved her body from the freezing Karun River after the student activist was kidnapped 9 days ago. Her parents had been looking for her the entire time. Rest in peace.

Mehran Shahnavazi, from Khash, a student at Chabahar Maritime University, was arrested on December 5 by security forces in Chabahar city and transferred to an unknown place. There’s no information on where he was taken & his condition.
