● JESUS CHRIST LIVED AS A SPIRIT BEFORE HE LIVED AS A HUMAN (John 6:38, 62; John 17:4-5). Jesus Christ was the first creation of God (Colossians 1:15; Revelation 3:14; Proverbs 8:22, 30-31). Yes, Colossians 1:15 calls Jesus "firstborn", "the firstborn of all creation". He is here listed among the creation as THE FIRST CREATION (like in Revelation 1:5 and Colossians 1:18 he is listed among the resurrected ones as the first resurrected one to heaven). Hebrews 1:6 says that Jesus is GOD'S FIRSTBORN, "HIS FIRSTBORN". This Greek adjective 4416 prototokos "firstborn" is made of two Greek words 4413 prótos "first" + 5088 tiktó "to beget, be born, produce", so it literally means "first-begotten, first-born, first-produced". So, Jesus was born, he has a beginning. Like any firstborn, he is the first one produced by someone who existed before him (compare Hebrews 11:28). He is GOD'S FIRSTBORN, "HIS FIRSTBORN", as Hebrews 1:6 made clear. Romans 8:29 says that Jesus was to become "THE FIRSTBORN AMONG MANY BROTHERS", yes, "brothers", and Hebrews 2:11 confirms that they all "stem from one" (see also Romans 8:17). He was the firstborn among many brothers also in the beginning, before the earth existed, when "all the sons of God" were created (Job 38:4, 7). Colossians 1:15 continues: "He is the image of the invisible God." He is having God's likeness, reflecting his qualities and personality (compare Genesis 1:27; Genesis 5:1), like any son may closely resemble his father in various ways, be the image of his father, having his likeness (Genesis 5:3). Jesus is the exact representation of the very being of his Father (Hebrews 1:3). The Bible says that Jesus is "the only-begotten Son of God" (John 1:14; John 3:18). The Word "only-begotten" is the Greek adjective 3439 monogenés "only begotten, the only member of a kin or kind". See how this Greek word is used in the following scriptures: Luke 7:12; Luke 8:42; Luke 9:38; Hebrews 11:17. What does it mean that Jesus is the only-begotten Son of God? Let us consider Abraham and his son Isaac. Isaac, too, was an "only-begotten" son, "the only member of a kin or kind", in Greek monogenés (Hebrews 11:17). But Isaac was not Abraham's only son, he also had an older son, Ishmael, and Abraham still had both of these sons when he himself died (Genesis 16:15-16; Genesis 21:5; Genesis 25:9). Yet, Isaac was THE ONLY OF HIS KIND, in Greek monogenés (Genesis 17:15-17, 19; Genesis 18:10-15; Genesis 21:1-3; Galatians 4:22-23). Similarly, Jesus is not God's only son (Job 38:7; Psalm 89:6; Genesis 6:2; Job 1:6; Job 2:1), yet Jesus is THE ONLY OF HIS KIND, in Greek monogenés. He is the first creation, and he is the only creation that God created alone. God created everything else with him; they worked together like any father and son (John 1:2-3; Colossians 1:16; Hebrews 1:1-2; 1 Corinthians 8:6). Yet, the Father, Yehovah God, is the Creator, for everything was created because of his will and out of his energy; he is to receive the worship and praise of those who were created (Revelation 4:11; Isaiah 40:26). So, Jesus lived as a spirit. Then the life of this unique Son was transferred from heaven to the womb of Mary, and thus he was born as a human (Luke 1:30-31, 34-35; Matthew 1:18-20). Since he did not receive his life from a human father, but his life was transferred from heaven by means of holy spirit, he was born without inherited sin (Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 3:5).
