Trans women do face more scrutiny for the shit I call out here, and a part of that is due to transmisogyny.
I heard the term proximity bias and it feels apt in my case. You'll notice sooner if those you share a community with say and or do some fuckshit. In sharing that community you'll feel more compelled to protect your own by calling it out.
What I don't get is why aren't cis people calling out the creeps in their communities as often? Is it kept to whisper networks that often leave out neurodivergent members of the community or others that they personally deem socially undesirable for any number of often bigoted reasons? Is the sense of communal obligation just not there?
I don't think that the solution is to ignore any danger to our community in order to be more like cis people. I think that predatory behavior should be called out across the board! If you see something fucked up, don't be a bystander! Do what you can to help make a difference!
Maybe it's easier to call out predatory behavior online? Minecraft youtubers have a reputation and are often cis. But also they often cater to a young audience to begin with so people were more likely to be wary from that.
I think that anyone who says this deserves to be called out, cis, trans, intersex, agender, that's never been the point.
But this doesn't say anything wrong according to her defenders. This is that normalized to them. That should scare you. They legitimately think she said nothing wrong and that we only care because she's trans. Either they're adults who agree with the above screenshots and are as dangerous as her or they're minors she's exposing to these ideas and the anti recovery pedophiles she platformed. Neither of those is a good option!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
