IMPORTANT NOTICE
In order to make managing my social network stuff easier on myself and do things like share posts from IG to Tumblr and vice-versa, I'll be remaking this blog as a primary blog, instead of as a secondary blog, which is what it is now. This blog will become an archive. I'll be reposting its contents to the new blog, as well as some extra stuff. Please stay seated and brace yourselves for some turbulence.
Having an artist alley table at the Connichi was... an experience. I thought Stuttgart Comic Con was intense but that was nothing. More detailed report and pictures coming later! I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep. XD
The Witch Queen - the last of the batch to round it off.
Sketchfest: Where the veil is thinnest.
Nightmare girl. A little something different.
The handy hedgehog. FEAR HIM.
Another Sketchfest thing. The Town Musicians of Bremen happily napping… three of them, at least.
Sketchfest is always good for forcing me out of my art block funk, even if I get to it like one hour before it's over. This time, I wasn't really feeling the pencil and couldn't be bothered with the irksome scanning process so I went digital.
Prompt: The Forbidden Book. ;)
Any resemblance to the Sci-Hub logo is not at all coincidental. I've been feeling inspired by that lately.
I've been watching and rewatching various feel-good horse movies now that I'm on summer break, and I have to confirm... yes, I am still horse trash.
A little watercolour pencil sketch to prove it. I feel like this sketch actually exemplifies what I love most about watercolour pencils: their flexibility. You can easily go for wispy soft lines with your water tank brush, easy blending of your sketchy lines, and some extra texture and colour intensity with the dry-on-wet technique (i.e. drawing with watercolour pencil on areas that you just wetted). Since the dry-on-wet technique works regardless of colour, this also means a striking and rare opportunity to draw some vibrant, lighter lines into an area already covered with a dark colour.
Last coloured commission I did (couple more sketch commishes, going to upload them later). A sleeping wood dragon tree.
Another wood dragon someone commissioned, with the specification that they liked flowers. So I went wild on the flowers. :D A more spring sort of wood dragon, this one.
Someone else commissioned me to draw a donkey. :D Quite happy with how cute this came out. I was drawing largely from memory based on the donkeys pulling carriages when I went to Bulgaria for vacation as a kid, many years ago, and the occasional zoo visit. Love donkeys.
Drawn in watercolour pencils, though without use of actual water this time.
